33. Death Eaters [65/100]
Although he had not had direct contact with Voldemort, Merlin had learned enough information and stories about the Black Devil who caused a stir in the British wizarding world more than a decade ago.
Voldemort is a powerful black wizard. In those real or bizarre stories, he is like a standard old-fashioned villain.
Cold, vicious, careless about life, long for knowledge, and despise death, claiming to conquer death.
Yes, he longs for eternity, and he hopes to achieve this great feat with black magic.
He had his own followers, who were originally called the Knights of Walpjis, but later followed his master and changed his name to "Death Eater", which means conquering death.
Now, Voldemort's return from death seems to prove that this devil is already stronger than before.
This also gave the Death Eaters who scattered around because of the death of the Black Demon more than ten years ago the opportunity to reunite. They either took the initiative or passively returned to Voldemort again. They were willing to act as the front pawns of the Black Demon.
Of course, regardless of the power of the Black Demon itself, as far as his mysterious and crazy followers are concerned, they are actually not a group of perfect command executors.
They have many bad habits.
As cold and crazy as their masters, they are just one of them.
The worst of all their bad habits is that every time they take action, they will leave a thing called "Dark Demon Mark" on the scene.
It was a special kind of magic, like fireworks.
They use this to declare their identity, to destroy, destroy and kill, to demonstrate the power of the Death Eaters and the Black Demon.
It has to be said that this move is very useful to scare the cowardly. But in the eyes of fearless people, such things that have more symbolic meaning than actual meaning will leave a lot of unnecessary trouble.
Merlin's car was soon parked at the small dock in Hell's Kitchen, and several police cars were parked around, and the police had already set up a cordon.
Merlin and a few children came out of the car, and they looked up and could see the green skeleton and snake intertwined emblem floating in the gloomy sky. The thing was now above their heads.
But like other magic, this thing cannot be seen by Muggles.
Merlin looked at his ID to the police who stopped him, then opened the cordon and took the children into the blocked pier in front of him.
Along the way, a pungent smell of blood came.
In front of Merlin, Agent Colson was already taking the people there to collect samples of the murder.
At his feet, there were several corpses covered with white cloth. Near the container in front of him that was completely distorted by some force, traces of blood spilled on the ground, looking full of a sense of horror.
"Did you find something?"
Merlin walked behind Colson and he asked in a low voice.
Colson was wearing sunglasses and looked up at the weird emblem above his head. He was an ordinary person, but Merlin gave him psychic sunglasses so that he could see these strange things too.
Merlin's inquiry shocked Colson, who was fully focused, who hurriedly took off his sunglasses. He glanced at the children around Merlin and said to Merlin:
"There is no valuable discovery for the time being, but I guess the problem is serious."
He squatted down and opened a corner of the white cloth covering the body towards Meilin. Seeing the corpse, Meilin's face changed slightly.
He grabbed Hermione and Ginny who were curiously leaning over his head, and reached out to cover their eyes.
Harry and Ron weren't so lucky.
They clearly saw the body that seemed to have been bitten by some large creature, and the hideous and terrifying body with blood and broken limbs, which made the two children pale. They immediately turned around and rushed to the trash can on the street.
Well, their breakfast today was wasted.
"You guys go back to the car first."
Merlin said to the children around her with a serious expression. Hermione and Ginny saw the fate of Harry and Ron, and they also guessed some facts. They did not dare to stay where they were and soon returned to the car.
The orange cat Gugu lay on the bridge and fell asleep lazily.
After seeing the Dark Mark, Merlin put it on purpose, and Gugu was the last guard of the children.
After the children left, Merlin took the gloves handed over by Colson. Before the forensic arrived, he used his medical knowledge to look at the six bodies around him, the container that was completely twisted, and the cargo ship that had been half sunk under the dock.
More than ten minutes later, Merlin threw away the bloody gloves and said to Colson:
"It was made by some large creature, but these crew members were already unconscious before they were bitten to death. They had traces of a sleeping curse on them. They were not attacked, but they died of more than just those people as food for the beast. They asked divers to search at the bottom of the sea, and maybe some more bodies could be found."
"This is a smuggling boat, sir."
Agent Colson held the materials found on the cargo ship in his hand. He looked and said to Merlin:
"I asked the workers at the dock and they told me that every month, the ship would sneak in some smugglers."
"Oh? Is that true?"
Merlin frowned and looked around. After a moment, he picked up the phone and dialed a number:
"Hey, Tucker? Something happened on the dock, come here."
Ten minutes later, the black Tucker appeared beside Merlin. He looked at the blood on the ground, a little scared. Merlin pointed to the half-sinking cargo ship and said to Tucker:
"Do you know this ship?"
"Know."
Tucker saw such a big thing, and he dared not hide it and said to Merlin truthfully:
"This is a group of guys who specialize in smuggling business. They transport people from outside. The Russian gang in Hell's Kitchen will help them with the rest."
"Do you know these people?"
Merlin pointed to the body under his feet, Tucker squatted down, pulled the white cloth away and glanced at him, his face turned pale immediately. He stood up, covered his mouth, nodded to Merlin, and he said with some difficulty:
"I know the tattoo on his arm. Since this is the smuggling leader, God, he died so miserably."
"Check me, Tucker."
Merlin reached out to hold Tucker's shoulder and whispered:
"As fastest, check what hell did they ship yesterday, and where did those things go! Tucker, you have to know that no matter what that thing is, it is now somewhere in Hell's Kitchen. It's also for your business and for your safety, do you understand?"
"Well, I'll go find it right away!"
Tucker ran out in a flash, Merlin and Colson gave a few instructions, and when they turned around, they unexpectedly saw an acquaintance.
Auror Crow.
The indifferent guy was standing inside the cordon, frowning and looking at the scene. The police around him turned a blind eye to him, as if he didn't exist at all.
That's a special magic effect.
Muggle expulsion spell.
This thing is often used to dispel Muggles that have entered the wizarding world, but in this case, it can also be used to reduce the presence of wizards.
Merlin looked around and gestured to the Auror Crow. After a while, in the remote corner of the dock, he and the Crow shared the information they collected.
"It's some kind of large predatory magic creature."
The crow said affirmatively:
"The situation at the scene looks like it was made of a hungry mountain monster or a crazy bigfoot monster. Only such a brute force creature can sink a ship in a very short time. Coupled with the dark magic mark on the head, it is obvious that the Death Eaters plan to create a disaster in this place."
The cold-faced Auror put his hands in his pocket in his windbreaker. He glanced at the car parked in the distance, and said:
"And it should be for Mr. Porter, you'd better send him out of here now."
“The situation is unknown.”
Merlin shook his head, and he said with a cautious look on his face:
"The enemy is in the dark, so I send Harry away, maybe it's just their wish. I've contacted Harry's wizard friend in the UK, and they'll come soon."
"Then send him and the children to the headquarters of the Magic France Society!"
The crow said in a deep voice:
“It is the safest place in the whole of New York, and we have to protect Mr. Porter’s personal safety.”
"I want to know more now is another thing."
Merlin said:
"Didn't you keep monitoring New York? Why didn't you even notice a group of Death Eaters who smuggled over?"
"Melin"
The crow's expression was a little sad, he said:
"Didn't Esinus tell you the reason?"
He looked at Merlin and said:
"There are less than 170 high-level Aurors in New York, and our people are short of their hands. The Death Eaters are not our troubles. They have never landed on the North American continent since their collapse more than a decade ago."
"But now they're back!"
Merlin said:
"Okay, we won't argue about these. In short, I need you to come up with a solution, Auror. You are the real experts in this regard!"
"My plan is to send Mr. Porter away first."
The crow breathed a sigh of relief, and he said seriously:
"Then catch the stowaways and fight them well until they are completely driven out."
"This plan is really straightforward."
Merlin complained, and he waved to the crow:
"Then come with me and take us to the headquarters of the Magic France Society. I don't know where your base is."
"I have informed my superiors that soon, the high-level and ordinary Aurors in New York will be mobilized."
The crow followed Merlin and he whispered:
"But our staff are not enough to quickly search the entire New York City, so we need the help of SHIELD. We will determine the location, you will conduct detailed investigations, and our people will be responsible for protecting your agents."
"Well, this method is quite reliable."
Merlin dialed Fury's number while walking, holding his cell phone.
He told all the things that happened at the pier, their speculation and the aid request from the Magic France Society. Without hesitation for too long, Fury began to mobilize all the power of S.H.E.L.D. in New York.
The New York Police Department and other security departments have received orders regarding the search.
The Aurors of the Demon French Society also officially took off their disguise. They appeared in every suspicious place in the city, searching for the city from altitudes, on a flying carpet or broom.
Merlin and the Crow escorted Harry and the little wizards to a building in New York as fast as possible.
To be honest, if it weren't for the crows' guidance, Merlin wouldn't have guessed that the base camp of these wizards would be hidden in the downtown area.
However, just as Merlin drove out of Manhattan, Tucker's phone call also came over.
"Merlin, I found a lot of people and finally found out the news about the smuggler last night."
On the phone, Tucker's voice was a little distorted, and he quickly said:
"That was a group of mysterious British people. After seeing them landing, a homeless man went to the north. I will send you the specific address by text."
"Good job, Tucker."
Merlin praised it.
Tucker, a down-to-earth local snake, is inconspicuous, but if you want to find a group of strangers in a certain area, no one is better at it than them.
"The person has been found!"
Merlin waved his cell phone to the crow, with a hint of murderous intent in his eyes, he said:
"Come your colleagues to prepare and after sending the kids, we'll catch these damn rats!"
"Ao"
A low roar came from a remote warehouse in Hell's Kitchen. However, with the concealment of soundproof magic, this strange and terrifying sound was not heard by the people around.
In the dim warehouse, more than a dozen strangely dressed people were gathering together, discussing something fiercely.
This is a group of Death Eaters, a group of Voldemort's loyal lackeys.
"Shut up! Shut up!"
A bald man with sparse hair shouted loudly, and he seemed to be a leader, a slightly ill-wicked guy wearing a dirty, shabby purple suit, looking like someone from the last century.
His biggest feature is his right hand.
The palm shines with a cold silver luster under the dim light, like a metal craft, but his silver hand is very flexible, like a real flesh and blood body. He screams at the others:
"The master asked us to bring that boy back! We must do it!"
His voice was sharp and weird, just like his pale skin. He slapped the table hard, as if he was hiding his inner uneasiness with a fierce expression, and he said to others:
"Don't quarrel anymore! Let's go now! The master didn't give us too much time!"
"Take that hungry tree bee with you, listen, it's very hungry"
The man with a silver palm opened his mouth, like a mouse, making a sick and strange laugh. He looked at the darkness reddened by the flames behind him, and there was a touch of hideousness in his strange and watery eyes.
He whispered:
"Hehe, let it go and eat it with your stomach!"
"There are no other things here, stupid Muggles, but there are so many more!"
