28. Dark Stories - The Blind (Part 2)(1/2)

Generally speaking, after losing sight, the blind man's other senses become keen.

This is the body's instinct. In order to continue life and fill in the defects caused by vision deficiency, other organs will try to "replace" the effect of the eyes.

Merlin knew this and he could understand the sound Matt made when he heard him move.

But what he couldn't understand was how Little Matt, who could not see things in his eyes, accurately distinguished his identity.

Perhaps feeling Merlin's doubts, Little Matt whispered:

"I can smell you."

"Um?"

Hearing this, Meilin immediately raised his arm and sniffed it.

He didn't smell anything, he was a very clean person.

"The smell on you is different from that of others, Mr. Merlin. I remembered that smell when you took me to the hospital."

Matt said:

"That smell like ice cream always has a special cold. So when you sit here, I know you are here."

"But I can't smell anything."

Merlin looked at the unfortunate child in front of him, and said with a smile, then reached out and touched Little Matt's hair.

More than a year has passed since he sent the accidental Matt to the hospital.

This 9-year-old child, and Merlin's appearance changed a lot when he last saw him.

His chestnut hair was a little longer, and the freckles on his face became lighter. Looking closely, the child looked quite handsome in sunglasses.

He has grown taller than a year ago and has become thinner.

Moreover, probably because of the loss of vision, the child looks more steady and silent than his peers.

He spoke like a little adult.

"Your father went to the boxing championship in Russia and planned to change his job as a professional boxer."

Merlin looked at Little Matt and said:

"Before leaving, he entrusted me to see you, and if he could, he planned to let you live in my house. I'll ask you, would you like?"

"dad"

Speaking of his father, Little Matt's expression became a little sad.

He closed the book, turned around on the chair, leaning on his blind guide stick with both hands, his movements were almost exactly the same as Merlin, who was sitting by the bed and leaning on his cane.

The child wearing sunglasses "looked" at Merlin in his own way, he said:

"Has he really gone to Russia?"

"certainly."

Meilin said without changing her face:

"If you want to see him, I can take you to Russia now."

"You are lying!"

Matt suddenly broke out.

At this moment, the child held the blind guide stick tightly in his hand and screamed at Merlin:

"You are all lying! Father, nun, and you, you are all liars! My father didn't leave, and he wouldn't leave me alone!"

"He just left in a hurry because the league is about to start, and he didn't even have time to say goodbye to you, Matt!"

Merlin's tone became gentler, he said:

"He is a good father, you should know this more than anyone else, he went so far just to give you a better one."

"Dad is dead!"

Matt's next sentence completely interrupted all the lies Merlin worked hard to weave.

Merlin looked at the sob in front of him with some surprise. At this moment, he suspected that someone else had revealed the news of Jack's death to Matt.

Who is it? Could it be Sister Maggie? Did Merlin misread that nun? Is her heart so vicious?

"I heard gunshots"

Little Matt took off his sunglasses, and he wiped his tears a little clumsyly. He said to Merlin intermittently:

"When I got into the taxi, I heard the sound of those people talking to my dad. They cursed, they hit my dad, I wanted to go down and help, but the driver with a strange accent didn't let me go down. I heard my dad bleeding, I heard my dad being knocked to the ground, I heard my dad "

"They shot Dad's heartbeat stopped, I heard it! I heard it all! You are all lying to me!"

Merlin stood up, he reached out and held down the excited little Matt, and said gently:

"No, that's not true."

"That's just some auditory hallucinations. Children as old as you do occasionally have that kind of situation. I'm telling me that normal people can't hear those sounds, you're wrong."

Merlin reached out and hugged Matt's head gently in his arms, and he whispered:

"Believe me, your father is still alive, he is in Russia, in Moscow, I don't have to lie to you, my child. I can take you there, I can even let him go back to New York to accompany you."

Matt, who was hugged, no longer struggled, he became quiet, as if listening, and a few seconds later, he said to Merlin: Computer::/

"Your heartbeats a little faster, you're lying."

"Um?"

Merlin looked at the child in her arms in confusion.

It seems to be to prove that what he heard is not fake, Matt continued:

"There is something in your blood vessels, and it flows with the blood. There are many weird things in your left pocket, including guns, sticks, and many boxes covered together. In that box, there is something jumping. I can hear it, and it jumps violently, like lightning that is sealed."

Matt looked up and he looked at Merlin in confusion:

"How can you put so many things in your pocket?"

Merlin's expression became serious at this moment. He let go of Matt and squatted in front of him. He looked at the child and asked:

"What else can you hear?"

“I can hear a lot.”

Little Matt's expression was also a little confused at this moment. He raised his head and "looked" at the window in front of him. He reached out to open the window, feeling the wind in the night and the sound coming from the wind, he said:

"There are birds yelling in the park, the boats are moving in the water, and Tucker is bullying the women again, and I hear him whip them."

"I heard a car accident at the 11th Street intersection. The girl was hit without injury, but the driver's heartbeat was getting weaker and weaker."

"I heard a car stop."

Little Matt stood up and looked to the east:

"Just on the edge of 6th Street, someone got out of the car, he was knocking on the door, he was calling your name."

"Hold on"

At this moment, Merlin felt the phone in his pocket vibrate. He took out the phone and glanced at it. It was the call from Colson.

He picked up his cell phone and put it in his ear. The next moment, he heard Colson's voice.

"Sir, are you at home? I'm right at your doorstep."

At this moment, Merlin looked at Little Matt, he knew

The child in front of him lost his eyesight in an accident, but he got more things.

Something that is enough to surprise.

“I’m not at home now.”

Merlin asked:

"Are you inquiring about me at this time? Colson."

"Jimmy encountered a supernatural incident in Central City. While investigating, he accidentally discovered that the person involved had something to do with you, sir. So he called and asked if you need to deal with this matter in person."

"Hmm? Central City?"

Merlin frowned and said:

"Is it Mr. Henry?"

"Yes, Henry Allen."

Colson replied:

"He was involved in a murder case, and Jimmy has confirmed that it is related to the supernatural incident."

"Well, how could someone like Henry kill someone?"

Merlin smiled and he asked casually:

"Who is the dead? What does it have to do with Henry."
