6. Crisis of extinction?(1/2)
"Blick Street again?"
In the dark living room, Merlin looked at the two options on the parchment in front of him, and he entered into contemplation.
The meaning of the second option is undoubtedly sacrifice, which is very consistent with the characteristics of the evil god's creation, but for Merlin, it is undoubtedly unacceptable to offer his eyes.
He is willing to help others, but he will also consider the cost. In order to fulfill Jiaying's request, he will commit self-harm. This is definitely a crazy idea.
But the first option does not seem as simple as it seems.
A few years ago, after Ms. Carter disappeared, he had received a letter from that lady. At the end of the letter, Ms. Carter reminded Merlin to take a walk on Blick Street in Manhattan.
And now, a guy hidden from countless dimensions, a guy suspected of the God of the Underworld, also asked Merlin to go to that place.
This has proved that on the seemingly normal Blick Street, there are indeed some things that Merlin has not discovered yet, and it is probably quite dangerous.
He looked at the parchment in front of him, and after several minutes of thinking, he reached out, picked up the pen, and drew a circle on the first option, indicating that he had made the decision.
Ms. Carter left a message that whether Merlin encountered this weird parchment or not, he would eventually work on finding the secrets of Blick Street, making a choice, and taking over the task of Sithorne, just to do it.
Merlin made a choice. The moment he drew the circle, a cold and cold force was transmitted to his fingers along the pen, "buckled" on his left arm like a confined circle. The circle was directly connected to the magic power, like a shackle, locking the movement of part of the magic power.
This is the evolution of the contract. Before Merlin completes the task, the shackles will probably not disappear. The imprisoned magic will affect Merlin's combat power. The poor magic power will also make him feel a little uncomfortable.
It feels like a needle prick.
After completing this contract, texts similar to records began to appear on this parchment paper quickly.
"Daisy Johnson, the Destroyer of the Future Timeline."
"She will destroy the earth in the future and completely interrupt the inheritance of human civilization."
"Daisy Johnson was brought back to New York by Page Carter, which is a part of this fate, and it has not deflected at the moment."
"Note that your intervention may lead to the confusion of this incident."
Seeing this answer, Merlin frowned at this moment.
Since Jiaying is an alien, and from what she means, she seems to come from an alien family that has been cut off from her heritage, Merlin also suspected that the disappearance of her daughter is probably related to the alien power that the baby would have.
Now it seems that the baby does carry a terrifying fate.
But the destruction of the world?
This is a bit too exaggerated.
And Merlin also noticed another message, he picked up his pen and wrote on the parchment:
"Where is Daisy now?"
This time, the answers of parchment were extremely fast.
"Take or give back?"
This sentence structure is again!
It seems that the existence of Daisy Johnson cannot be regarded as a "free" secret in the eyes of the Dark God Book.
He thought about it and asked another question to the parchment.
"What is the relationship between Steve, the old man and the missing Captain America, Steve Rogers?"
"Take it? Or give back?"
Another choice appeared before Merlin, which means that the question raised by Merlin is also not "free".
He stopped writing rationally and did not make a choice.
After a moment, the parchment seemed to notice Merlin's attitude, and that option was wiped off along with Merlin's problem.
“It seems there is a boundary.”
Merlin stared at the parchment in front of him. Through these ten minutes of attempts, he had already touched some of the rules for using this parchment.
It seems to be truly omniscient and omnipotent, at least for Merlin at present.
But knowing those secrets is not without a price. This parchment has a classified "boundary" for all issues, which seems to be divided according to the value of secrets.
Once this boundary is crossed, it will give Merlin a choice, or a reminder.
It's like an answer searcher with automatic reply.
“If you want to get the right answer, you have to ask the right questions.”
"Maybe I should change the way I ask questions."
The words of the Phantom Stranger echoed in Meilin's mind again, which made him squint. He tried to lift the pen and wrote a sentence on the parchment paper.
"Old Steve, is it Captain America Steve Rogers?"
The answer to this question will appear on parchment the next moment, and it will be a very short answer sentence.
"yes."
"But they are not the same person?"
"right."
"Old Steve comes from the future?"
"No."
"In this world, there are at least 2 Steve Rogers now?"
"right."
"One of them is still frozen in the Arctic Circle?"
"right."
"Where is the exact location where he was frozen?"
"Take it? Or give back?"
Merlin ignored the "choice" that jumped out. He knew that his problem had crossed the "free" boundary. This made him understand the "secret grading" of parchment more.
After this choice and the problem disappeared, Merlin began to write down some of the various guesses in his mind on the parchment paper, which were all guesses that he had already mastered some clues but could not get confirmed.
"Jiaying has another purpose to find her daughter?"
"right."
"The Inhuman Dynasty is still on Earth?"
"No."
"Is Carol still safe now?"
"yes."
"Have she thought about me?"
"Occasionally."
"Is Fury Hydra?"
"Maybe."
"Is Natasha Hydra?"
"Maybe."
"Is Clint Hydra?"
"Maybe."
"Is Hill Hydra?"
"you guess?"
After several questions received clear answers, Merlin began to use this parchment to detect what he was most worried about, but this parchment seemed to have noticed some of Merlin's "little thoughts", and its answer immediately became ambiguous.
"Damn, are you a repeater?"
Merlin cursed, but another sentence appeared on the parchment:
"Maybe."
"But it's certainly not a fool."
Meilin was choked and he let go of the pen in his hand helplessly.
There is no doubt that this parchment is not a simple, formulaic thing. It says it is not the essence of Sithorne, but the Night Jackal tells Merlin that the book of the Dark God is the medium of power left by the God of the Underworld on Earth.
This shows that this book has its own will and is a very difficult bastard.
Merlin also noticed that this piece of paper has a characteristic, that is, it cannot reject any questions from the questioner. Whether it is sarcasm, pretending to be stupid, or repeating the reader, it means that it will answer every question, and there has never been a blank situation.
He thought about it and wrote on the parchment:
"What's in Blick Street? You have to tell me some specific information so that I won't dive into the bedroom of the big guy who can't afford to offend."
The problem dissipated little by little on the parchment paper. After a few seconds, a sentence emerged and disappeared in the blink of an eye, as if it was afraid of being seen by others.
That sentence is simple, but the meaning is strange.
To be continued...
