21. Black Claws (Part 1)

"Hey? Hill?"
After a brief interrogation, Merlin returned to the office. While dialing out the number, he picked up the paper and pen, closed his eyes and began to write and draw on a piece of white paper.
"What's the matter? Chief Merlin."
Hill on the other end of the phone asked:
"I'm following Director Fury to Europe for a meeting, and now I'm a little busy."
"Well, I have something I need your help, you can tell Fury it."
The pen in Merlin's hand slid rapidly on the paper, like a printer, and soon drew a man's avatar, which was almost exactly the same as the so-called "Agent of S.H.E.L.D., who invited Wade to participate in the x project in his memory.
He said:
"Tell Fury, I found another clue about the snake. They had some connections with the Ministry of Defense, especially Stryker's x-plan, which had traces of their involvement."
"I'll pass on the portrait of a suspect to you now. He is still in SHIELD. His disguised identity should be a low-level agent. He is scamming and finding him outside under the banner of SHIELD! But don't disturb him, follow the clues, and you may find new discoveries."
Merlin whispered:
"Fry will definitely handle this. Also, tell me that his students are very restless recently. The Sky Eye will still look for superpowers and try to control them in a tough way. I don't know if they have any successful examples, but if Fury is not busy, let him intervene."
"The woman was playing a dangerous game. She inherited the control of Fury's bones. She thought she could control everything, but from my perspective, her understanding of supernatural affairs is still too shallow. Once she can't control the situation, the imprisoned superpowers will likely cause a bad trouble."
"Yeah, OK."
Hill's calm voice came from the microphone:
"Is there anything else? Sir. Oh, by the way, there is one more thing, about the departure of Elsa's consultant"
"I will handle this."
Merlin seemed reluctant to talk about this issue, he said:
"Fry can rest assured that Elsa's resignation will not affect the affairs of s.d.o.l.d.."
"Okay, there are only so many things at the moment. I will contact you if you have any questions."
"A good journey, Hill."
Merlin quickly hung up the phone. He picked up his cell phone, took a photo of the hand-painted avatar on the table, and sent it to Hill, who was far away in Europe.
After doing all this, he leaned on the office chair and continued to sort out the memories that seemed somewhat strange in his mind.
Memories from Wade Wilson.
It is actually quite interesting to watch a madman's memory. His memory is nonlinear. If he had not watched his memory in full, then Merlin would never have guessed what Wade's next thought was.
What this guy did is not a decent person, but he is not a bad guy in the traditional sense.
He advocates violence against violence and punishes the bad guys in his own way. After going crazy, he lives freely and freely every day.
He was saving money frantically. He was not joking about saying that he wanted to buy a boat for Vanessa. This guy really planned that way, but it was not because he wanted to continue to stay with Vanessa forever.
He just wanted to give the last gift to the woman who almost married him.
He was crazy, but he was calm again, he was secretly looking for the bastards who turned him into monsters, he planned to take revenge, and he knew how dangerous it was to pull an ordinary woman into such a thing.
He plans to break up with her
Although it hurt him, he had made a decision.
"Oh, it's still a seed of infatuation."
Memories of Wade flashed in front of Merlin's eyes, and he whispered:
"You are hopeless, right? Ugly?"
There are still some very "interesting" things in Wade's memory.
For example, the a.i.m hidden in the shadow, the organization has never forgotten the accident where its base was destroyed by Merlin. They seem to have been planning revenge in secret.
This time, hiring Black Claws to rob the prison is part of this revenge action.
The organization has been studying mutants. In their opinion, the mutant prisoners in the Ghost Base are all great experimental samples. On the other hand, the release of these prisoners will undoubtedly effectively fight the mutant unification program that Merlin and S.H.E.L.D.
And Merlin also saw in Wade's memory. In an A.i.m experimental base, Wade saw with his own eyes the scenes of scientists doing experiments. They seemed to be trying to simulate Merlin's black fog ability, and this experiment seemed to have made progress.
Those guys were planning to replicate another "raven Merlin".
"interesting."
Merlin narrowed his eyes, worried that he could not catch a.i.m's tail, but Wade gave him a surprise.
But now is not the time to act.
There was no specific location of the base in Wade's memory. They were transmitted by a.i.m people in some special energy transmission method. Merlin needed to talk to the others in the Black Claw Mercenary Group.
Perhaps Merlin can get more useful news from them.
More importantly, Merlin knew a lot from Wade's mind. He knew that some of the people in the Black Claw were not hopeless.
After Elsa left, s.d.o.l.d. also needed to find another consultant who could serve as a standalone partner.
On a new Monday, Merlin, who spent the weekend with her family and children, finally felt better, and the impact of Elsa's departure on him became weaker.
He returned to the ghost base from New York with a shapeshift spell. Instead of returning to his office, he went directly to the prison of the severe prisoner on the sixth floor of the base.
This floor is the prison at the bottom of the Ghost Base, where the most dangerous group of guys in the Mutant Brotherhood, as well as the mercenaries of the Black Claw Mercenary Group are imprisoned.
The cell here adopts the same design as the Isle Island Prison, with high-strength composite materials, forming one cell after another like glass. Outside the glass cell, there are closed metal baffles. If there is no right to open it, then this place is like a narrow metal aisle.
"Swish"
Meilin had just moved over and saw a very eye-catching scene.
Deadpool and Vanessa are kissing through the glass
These two guys kissed very much
"Ahem."
Merlin coughed lightly, causing Vanessa to open her eyes suddenly, and stood on the other side in a hurry, while Wade in the cell looked indifferent. He was wearing an orange prisoner's jumpsuit and gestured to Merlin with a rough gesture.
"You are now a government official."
Merlin ignored Deadpool's provocation and said to Vanessa earnestly:
"I will pay you a salary, give you a new identity, and get you out of the difficult life of the past. It is not for you to meet the prisoners, but the assistant prison guard Miss Vanessa. The prisoner on the sixth floor has a high evaluation of your work these days, so I don't want you to have the list of dismissals for the next time."
Merlin glanced at Wade in the cell and warned softly:
"If you really want to spend more time with your 'boyfriend', then you'd better be more professional."
"I get it, sir."
Warned Vanessa straightened her body and tried to make herself look professional. She assured Merlin:
“I will do this job well.”
"Yeah, very good."
Merlin nodded and said:
"Go and rest. Read more books if you have nothing to do and take a study course at the base. If you are interested, you can sign up for the agent training. I am looking forward to the day you join SHIELD."
He sent Vanessa away, then put his hands in his pockets, turned his head to look at Wade sitting in the cell, he sneered and said:
"Life has been good these days, Mr. Wade."
"Don't talk to me!"
The ugly guy turned his head away and ignored Merlin. He said with a cold look on his face:
"Don't think I don't know what you are thinking! You put Vanessa here just to prevent me from causing trouble, haha, mortal wisdom!"
"Yes, that's what I planned."
Meilin looked at the lipstick mark left on the glass in front of him, and said frankly:
"It will be very troublesome to make a fuss like you, so I asked Vanessa to look at you, but you don't seem to like this treatment. So, I transferred Vanessa to the third floor, where there are some light prisoners waiting for trial, maybe there is more suitable for her."
"Plop"
Wade, who had a cold face, knelt on his knees the next moment. The mad mercenary with no moral integrity said to Merlin with a "sincere" look:
"Please don't do this!"
"I can't see Vanessa's slender waist and buttocks every day, I'll go crazy in this bird cage."
"You're really out of salvation."
Merlin shook his head and ignored this funny guy. He reached out and pressed the lock on the wall. The closed metal baffle slowly closed and closed the glass cell again.
Merlin continued to move forward in the aisle. After a moment, he opened the baffle of another cell. In this cell, a guy with a bearded and looking very vicissitudes was lying on the bed of the cell in a prison suit, with a leisurely face.
He was still humming a song.
A folk song circulating in the western region.
Judging from the expression and posture alone, this guy doesn't seem to be in jail at all, but more like lying on the beach and enjoying his leisurely vacation.
"McCray"
Merlin stood in front of the glass cage and said:
"How are you doing lately? Cowboy."
"Yeah, it's pretty good."
The guy didn't even open his eyes, just put his hands on his body, and said in a relaxed tone:
"Every day, there are beauties who deliver meals, and the food is a combination of meat and vegetables. I can eat an apple every day. There is also soothing music at night. No one comes to disturb me. I don't have to work hard. The bed is very comfortable and can bask in the sun. I have turned on the heating 24 hours a day. God, if I had known this place was so great, I might have planned to rob you earlier."
The cowboy stopped, he whispered:
“There is no freedom here, it is perfect as heaven.”
"So which one would you choose between freedom and heaven?"
Merlin asked.
The cowboy lying on the bed heard the extra meaning of Merlin's words. He suddenly sat up, sat beside the bed, looked at Merlin, and said:
"Do you still have to choose? Of course it's freedom!"
He stared at Merlin and said:
"What are there work for me? Sir. The most important thing is, can this work be reduced?"
"It depends on your sincerity."
Merlin said ambiguously:
"You should know that the reason I came to you rather than others is because I know that in Black Claw, only you have a little conscience. You have the least blood debt in your hands, and you only have a 20-year prison term. You are the kind of person who can still be redeemed."
Merlin stopped, and he glanced at McCree, who was sitting by the bed, listening carefully to what he said.
"Talk it straight, Mr. McCree, I hope you join my department as a field agent. I need someone like you who is capable and has a bottom line. Of course, you will receive additional monitoring, but I think if I give you a chance to reform, you shouldn't just throw it away so easily."
Merlin bounced his fingers, and he looked at the cowboy in front of him, and he said:
"So, what about your reply?"
"It's the same for anyone to work for."
McCree shrugged, he said:
"I don't have any disgust or discrimination against the official, but it's too much to be an official lackey in exchange for freedom. I mean, if you can agree to another request from me."
"Stop! Cowboy."
Merlin said expressionlessly:
"Are you negotiating terms? Do you think you are qualified to negotiate terms with me?"
"A big man like you who has great power and official resources support, comes to me, a down-and-out cowboy who is notorious and famous. This proves that you have some tricky things that need my help."
McCree said softly:
"Look, sir, I was caught with bad luck, but that doesn't mean I'm stupid."
"When you have the advantage, try to plunder the benefits for yourself as much as possible. This is the lifestyle of cowboys. If my tone makes you feel angry, then please forgive me for being vulgar. But I grew up in the West, and my blood flows in my blood vessels. My ancestors are the famous cowboy Arthur. I mean, I may not be able to change this bad habit."
"Then you'd better change it."
Merlin said:
"I don't really like my subordinates' eloquence. I prefer those silent, low-key people who can do things well. Tell me, what do you want?"
"Ash!"
McCree said bluntly:
"Give her freedom, I will sell my life to you."
"Oh, it seems that the Black Claws are rich in love saints."
Merlin said with a strange tone, "Praise" and said to McCree:
"But I think you'd better have something to do with yourself. The little girl Ash is treated much better than you. The day after she was arrested, someone took a huge sum of money to try to bail her. Of course, I refused. She is a dangerous person. She is different from you. She can't control her inner crime. I can't release a dangerous person like this."
Merlin said:
"But I heard that she is the heir of the famous Ash family in New York. How could the little princess born with a golden key in her hand become the leader of the Death Gang and how did she embark on this path of crime? And, what is the relationship between you two? And about Black Claw, how was this mercenary group established? What was its purpose? I was really curious."
"Is it also a part of the task to inquire about other people's private lives?"
McCree asked:
“Can I refuse to answer this question?”
"Of course, you can refuse."
Merlin said gently:
"As long as you don't want freedom."
