29. Taxi Hero

"Damn, who moved my car!"
In the early morning, in Brooklyn, in the parking lot of an apartment in the Brooklyn area, Du Pengde, a taxi driver who worked diligently, screamed angryly, and then looked at the car in front of him with a headache.
That was his car, his travel tools, his money-making tools, a yellow taxi that was no different from other taxis in New York.
Well, if you have to say the difference, it may be that this car is equipped with a very expensive car speaker that only music enthusiasts will spend a lot of money to buy.
It is said that it can perfectly play music files in all formats and can also be freely converted into many melodies. In this era, it was a symbol of music lovers.
Since Du Pengde's car filled with this thing, he has been complained a lot more times, but everything has two sides. While losing some customers, Du Pengde has also had many regular customers, all of whom love South Asian subcontinent music as much as he does.
But now, there are some small problems with Du Pengde’s car in front of him.
There were obvious scratches on the door of the car. On the front hood, I thought it was a prank, and it was filled with a strange ball of powder, which looked like salt and other things.
"Damn it, curse you hell addicts."
Du Pengde looked at his beloved car with regret. He took out the rag from the cab and carefully wiped the suspicious powder on the car cover.
Caring for your own car is the basic character that every qualified taxi driver should possess.
After carefully checking his taxi, Du Pengde breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, the car door was scratched and there was no damage in other places. Even the stack of money he forgot to be on the bridge was not lost.
"Today, you can earn him a few hundred dollars and you will have money to buy Geeta a new phone."
While inserting the key into the keyhole, Du Pengde started his car with a familiarity, skillfully turned on the steering wheel, drove the car out of the parking lot, and then slowly drove forward along the road he was most familiar with, while taking out the sandwich made by his cousin Geeta from the paper bag.
"Oh, when I'm short of money, I miss Mr. Merlin very much."
While eating a sandwich, the Indian guy was thinking about his savings. He said to himself:
"It would be great if everyone was as generous as him."
Well, Du Pengde's cousin Geeta came to the United States from India two years ago. At the beginning, Du Pengde found her an apartment, but later, as the relationship between the two heated up, his cousin moved to Du Pengde's house.
Unfortunately, the girl was not as lucky as Du Pengde. She had never been able to find a good job. It was okay to rely on Du Pengde to drive and make money to make money, but it was a bit difficult to live a better life.
"Oh, the annoying Bancu started sending messages to her cousin again and giving gifts."
Du Pengde thought a little sadly:
"We have to quickly confirm the relationship with my cousin. It is best to get married this year, but it will cost a lot of money to get married."
Yes, Du Pengde's emotional career was not smooth.
Although my cousin was interested in him, my cousin came from India. Her parents had made a marriage for her cousin early, and she was a distant cousin named Banku, who was not liked by him. She came to the United States more to avoid that damn marriage.
But unexpectedly, that guy Bancu actually chased him to the United States, pursuing his cousin persistently. Moreover, that guy is from a wealthy family and generous, and is a very slutty young man.
Women always like shiny and valuable things.
Under the competition of financial resources, Du Pengde felt great pressure. He was a little worried about gains and losses and was determined to determine the relationship. Unfortunately, money is really a big problem for ordinary people.
"Hello, guest, where are you going?"
Du Pengde was lucky. After walking out of two blocks, he met his first guest.
It was a girl wearing a black leather jacket, jeans, with a little messy hair, and seemed to stay up late and had heavy dark circles. Well, she was pretty.
He parked the car on the side of the road and waited for the lady to get in.
“Go to Harlem.”
The girl with heavy dark circles said to Du Pengde:
“Hot Hero Company.”
"Oh, that place, I know."
Du Pengde turned the steering wheel and took the guests onto another road. He looked at the napping girl behind from the reversing mirror. He kindly reminded:
"The place is quite chaotic. It is said that there are several gangs grabbing territory there. I mean, would it be too dangerous for a girl like you to go there alone?"
"It's dangerous, I'm used to it."
The long-haired girl yawned and looked out the window with some boredom. She said:
"If it's just a gangster, I can handle it."
"Really?"
Du Pengde looked at the girl with thin arms and legs in the back seat with some doubts, and said:
"You'd better find a few people to go with you. By the way, do you want to listen to a song?"
"casual."
The girl said:
"Don't be too loud, I'll sleep for a while Shet!"
Before she could finish her words, a cheerful dance music floated in the carriage. The dynamic and strange melody was like a needle, piercing the girl's hangover-doned mind, making her wake up suddenly.
"Shut it off! Hell!"
While rubbing her forehead, she said to Du Pengde:
"It's noisy."
"All right."
Guests are God, how can we not listen to God’s words?
Du Pengde turned off his speaker with regret. In his heart, he equated the girl with Mr. Merlin, neither of them like music.
There was nothing to say in the next ten minutes. Du Pengde, like before, walked the green light and soon carried the girl to a dilapidated street in Harlem.
At the end of the street, there is a small company for garage renovation with an inconspicuous sign with the name of the company on it.
"Hot Hero Company, the destination is here, Miss."
Du Pengde pressed the meter and said to the girl behind him:
"There are a total of US$33.7, and you will be charged 33. This is my business card. If you still need it, you can call and call a taxi at any time. But be careful, after 9 pm, you will have to increase the price."
Du Pengde handed the business card to the girl behind him. While giving the money, he took the business card and took a look. She said:
"Very good, I happen to need a lucky driver. My name is Jessica Jones, a private detective. Just call me Jessica. Also, Dupend, I need you to wait for me here, and I will add extra money for about 20 minutes."
"Yeah, private detective, come to this chaotic place."
Dupont looked at Jessica with a frown. He was just an ordinary person. He might occasionally envy Mr. Merlin's superhero life, but after all, he still hopes to live his life safely.
Jessica, a private detective, must have done something unsafe when he came to this gangster. In the past, Du Pengde would definitely refuse, but now, facing the precarious love, he needs money.
Therefore, after a few seconds of consideration, Du Pengde gritted his teeth and said:
"50 yuan, I'll wait for you!"
"no problem."
Jessica readily threw a bill to Du Pengde. She didn't seem to be worried that Du Pengde would run away. She put on a soft hat, made a leather jacket, lowered her head, and quickly got into the crowd on the street.
Du Pengde closed the car window with some concern. He quietly took out a shabby revolver from the driver's seat. It was the weapon left by his father to defend himself. In this ghost place in Harlem, he needed weapons to give himself the confidence to continue waiting.
However, after 10 minutes, Du Pengde saw a very unexpected situation.
Another taxi drove into the block from the other side, and the taxi's license plate Dupont was familiar with, and it was one of his few friends, Chas Chandler's car.
After Chass' car stopped, several guys wearing windbreakers, with cold faces and tattoos on their necks walked out of the car and ran quickly towards the direction Jessica was walking.
"Things are not good."
Du Pengde grabbed his cell phone and quickly called Chas.
"Hey, Chas, why are you here too? What's going on with those people?"
"Dupengde? I saw your car."
Chass' voice was filled with a hint of fear, he said:
"Go away! Don't stay here. Those people just now were gunmen from the gang here. I saw them carrying guns. Hell, something must have happened here."
"I want to leave, too."
Du Pengde is still very professional. He held the gun in his hand tightly and said to Chas:
"But I'm going to wait for someone. She has paid, please leave quickly."
"My car broke down and I can't leave now."
Chass' voice was filled with anger, he said:
"I don't know that bastard broke my exhaust pipe. What I just discovered was that I didn't want to carry those gunmen, but they were so hard to describe."
"Come to me!"
Du Pengde said to his friends:
"I have a gun in my hand, I mean"
"Ba,b,ba,ba"
Before the two taxi drivers could finish their words, gunshots like beans bursting out in the narrow and shabby aisle in front of them.
The sudden firefight caused pedestrians on the street to escape everywhere, and Du Pengde himself lowered his body and crawled under the driver's seat. His hands began to tremble. On the other end of the phone, Chass's voice became sharper:
"Damn it! Run, Du Pengde, they are heading towards you!"
"ah?"
Du Pengde poked his head blankly and looked out from the windshield. He saw that Jessica, whom he had just carried, was escaping from the employing hero company, following the black gunmen.
I don’t know who they both provoked. The gunmen were not even holding pistols, but assault rifles emitting cold light.
"Jessica is not an ordinary person either."
Du Pengde saw the thin and slender Jessica grab the telephone pole at her hand and easily pull the telephone pole from the ground. She waved her trembling wind and forced the gunman who was chasing behind her back to retreat.
The strong black man beside her crossed his arms and pressed the bullets to shoot, scattering the gang members in front of him like a tiger.
Those bullets that could kill any ordinary person would only splash when they hit him, and he was like a super warrior who was invulnerable to swords and guns.
Speaking of which, Du Pengde has indeed heard of a rumor that has been circulating in Harlem in the past few months. It is said that a street hero appeared in this place where gang forces gather. He often rescued innocent people from gangster fire and had super abilities and was a superhero.
People call him "Divine Power Man".
Now it seems that the invulnerable guy in front of Du Pengde should be the legendary divine power man.
"Don't come over, hell, don't come over!"
Du Pengde watched the Divine Power Man and Jessica running towards him. He was so nervous that he was about to suffocate. He hid in the cab of the taxi, holding the revolver with trembling hands, while complaining about his greed for money.
"If I had known it, I wouldn't have received her money!"
Just as Du Pengde was complaining, the divine power man rushed to Du Pengde's car. Faced with more and more gangsters, the divine power man was in a hurry and grabbed Du Pengde's taxi with both hands and easily carried the car into the air.
"No! Luke! There are people in the car, don't throw them away!"
Jessica, who was following the Divine Power Man, saw the Divine Power Man holding up the taxi, and seemed to be planning to throw it out to stop the pursuers. She hurriedly shouted to stop it, but it was too late.
Du Pengde's taxi was thrown out, and Du Pengde himself was in the car.
At this moment, Du Pengde closed his eyes in despair and said softly:
"Banku, you lucky bastard, you must take good care of Jita! You must make her happy"
However
"Click, click, click, click, click."
As everyone was staring at the shooting scene, the appearance of the yellow taxi that was thrown into the air began to rotate rapidly, and countless gears and mechanical modules were flipped, quickly reorganizing the appearance of the taxi in a dazzling form.
"Clang"
After 2 seconds, a robot that was more than 3 meters tall, consisting of machinery and various parts, with complete limbs and a shield-shaped head, landed steadily in the center of the gunmen.
The cab where Du Pengde was located was moved to the position of the robot's chest. In the cockpit that was changed into a tetrahedral, Du Pengde sat in the cabin on the robot's abdomen with a dull face.
He had no idea what was going on in front of him, he could not understand why his car suddenly turned into a robot that he could move.
His thinking was severely impacted.
He watched the frightened gunmen shoot at his car, then his car waved his iron fist, and a punched a bastard for more than 30 meters in a strange roar from the expensive music broadcaster, and landed in six different places.
Du Pengde was completely stunned by the scene in front of him.
He stopped thinking.
The situation in front of him was beyond his understanding, so Du Pengde subconsciously pressed the communication button in his hand and instinctively asked for help from the superhero he trusted the most.
"Hey? Mr. Merlin?"
"Well, I've encountered some difficult situations to describe. To put it simply,"
"My car is alive."
