10. Restless ambition
"Well...Mike."
In the dim and blurred lights of the bedroom, Miss Ash, with a flushed face leaning against the head of the bed, lit a lady's cigarette, she said in a hoarse voice:
"You've retreated a lot."
Agent McCree leaned his head against the pillow, shrugging and said:
"Whatever you say, but I won the second time."
"I guess your life at SHIELD must be boring."
Ash teased:
"You must have not touched other women for a long time. Are you keeping your chastity for me? This really touched me."
“My life is wonderful, Ash.”
The agent reached out and took away the cigarette from Ash's hand and pressed it to the ashtray. He reached out and held the lady into his arms. The two of them quietly enjoyed the warm time, and he whispered:
"That's a wonderful thing you can't imagine. Girl, I thought I wouldn't be interested in fighting and killing anymore. But then I found that the world is really wonderful, and we can still do some good things, even with guns and bullets."
"It seems that you are very satisfied with your current life, which is a pity."
Ash leaned his head against McCree's chest and listened to the man's deep and powerful heartbeat, she said:
"You let them transform you into a monster... When we were on a blind date, you didn't dare to take off the contact lenses in your eyes. What are you afraid of? Are you afraid that I hate you?"
"I just don't want to scare you, girl."
McCree reached out and took off the contact lens in his eyes that was used to cover up the abnormal pupils. In the dim light, his witch hunter's iconic yellow snake eyes were indeed quite sensuous.
"Is this the price you paid to give me freedom?"
Ash stretched out his hand and gently stroked the corner of McCree's eyes, she said:
"You bastard, you let me who should have been freed be shackled... You know, we had broken up at the beginning, but now, you have caused me to bear the debt of conscience... You made me unable to fall in love with others again."
"So, did I make a profit?"
McCree let out a hearty laugh, and he hugged the girl in his arms tighter, he said:
"Maybe we shouldn't have broken up at the beginning... Maybe we should have gone far away and ignored the damn things of Black Claw. If we did that, we might have children now, well, 2 children."
"Don't even think about it!"
Ash snorted, she said:
"I haven't had enough fun yet. Don't want me to give birth to you. Go and have another woman give birth to you."
She turned over, spread her hands and placed them on the bed. She looked at the artistic murals in the bedroom above her head, and said to the man beside her:
"Mike, I've been so bored over the years...My parents wanted me to inherit the family industry, but I wasn't interested at all. I've tried it, but I'm really not suitable to sit in the office and stare at the numbers that are bouncing up and down. Do you know how many men who are not doubtful have tried to approach me in all kinds of ways over the years?"
"Those lowly guys just fell in love with the family's money and my body. Bah, it's really lowly! Last week I asked Bob to interrupt the third leg of a strong bastard. To be honest, he should be glad that Bob took action, not me..."
Miss Ash snorted, she blinked and said to McCree:
"Mike, I plan to get out of the world again!"
"Um?"
When the sleepy Agent McCree heard this, all his sleepiness disappeared in an instant. He knew what Ash meant by "returning out of the world".
His expression became serious, and he lowered his head and kissed Ash's hair, he said:
"No, don't do this. Although I don't want to admit, girl, the world is no longer what we used to be. There are many new situations in this world that we have never encountered. You can no longer protect you with bullets and guns, even if you add Bob."
"Superheroes, super criminals, and those weird superhumans, changes are happening, and the old era has been completely abandoned."
The agent said to Ash seriously:
"You have worked with Death Knell and Wade, you know how difficult they are, and now there are people like them everywhere in the world. I know you like adventure and excitement, and I can understand that you feel like staying in this big house is like staying in a bird cage, but I don't want me to hear about you one day."
"Be good, okay?"
"I know what's going on outside, Mike."
The agent's persuasion was sincere, but unfortunately Ash has never been an obedient good girl. She said dissatisfiedly:
"I will read the news and the newspapers, and I am not a reckless person either. I heard from me, Mike, I will no longer play naive gang games. The dead gang is over. I will not try to go back to that time, I have new plans."
“I went to the Heroes Association some time ago.”
Ash said:
"I've been observing that organization for a long time, and that's where my new career starts."
“Heroes Association?”
McCree frowned, he knew the existence of the organization.
This organization is a local civil organization in New York. It appeared more than two years ago and was called by several senior street heroes. Because wild superheroes are appearing everywhere, those people are fighting evil with a passion, but often messing up things because of insufficient ability or lack of experience. So the organization came into being.
It will provide tests for those who are determined to be heroes, and those who pass various tests will become one of them.
It's like a real association, but the New York Heroes Association will also provide the necessary training for new heroes, from combat skills to courses for handling various emergencies, and even collaborate with the police every month to conduct some small-scale exercises.
It has a set of provisions called the "Hero Code" within it, which restricts superheroes' actions when fighting evil, such as controlling the situation to avoid hurting ordinary people or disrupting social order.
For example, when encountering dangerous emergencies, you must contact your companions and police and do not just do it recklessly.
For example, the heroes who join the association may not provide personal information and use their respective code names as their marks. However, if they are willing to register within the association, they will receive hero subsidies provided by the official and some foundations, and will also receive armored and non-lethal weapons tailored by the Onika Group.
Of course, there are some tough regulations in these articles, such as avoiding the use of deadly weapons at any time to avoid accidentally hurting innocent people. In addition, if the hero code is violated, they will be persuaded to withdraw. If the circumstances are serious, they will be held legally responsible.
This organization has a strong execution ability. Because of its restraint and protection concept, it has a good reputation among citizens and the police.
But some people suspect that the New York Heroes Association is actually a hidden official organization, with the purpose of restraining more and more superheroes.
Well, this is just a rumor, but McCree knew that the rumor was true.
The New York Heroes Association is indeed a semi-official organization. Its initiators, Luke Cage, Knights Jessica Jones, Dagger Tandy Bowen, Caped Tyrone Johnson, etc., are all non-staff agents of S.H.E.L.D.
Those wild and unruly superheroes who violate the hero code and want to act recklessly, and who specifically fight against the Hero Association will disappear in a very short time.
Well, of course they weren't killed... S.H.E.L.D.'s rules of conduct are not so violent.
They were all washed away their memories, sealed their abilities, and continued to live as ordinary people and protected people.
McCree also knew that the New York Heroes Association and several other "civil organizations" in other regions were attempts by S.H.E.L.D. to control superhero affairs.
McCree didn't know how the upper class was going to deal with superhero affairs, but he was sure that once the attempts of the "civil organizations" with moderate means failed, the "raven" Mr. hidden behind the scenes would definitely take some more direct and effective coercive measures.
After working in S.D.o.l.d. in S.H.D. for so many years, McCree has fully understood that once Director Merlin makes up his mind about something, the terrifying power of the entire S.H.H.H.H.D. will almost unconditionally cooperate with him.
But unfortunately, the little fool Ash didn't know about this, and McCree couldn't tell her that these things were secrets. Once he leaked the secrets, it would be destined to be too good to wait for him.
While McCree was worried, Ash was still talking about his thoughts.
"I went to watch their tests of superheroes and also looked at their situation when they were fighting crimes. I found that it was quite interesting. I mean, street heroes... like divine people, they go to trouble those gang members when they are bored, and they can beat them legally when they encounter bad guys, and even kill them when they are necessary."
Ash licked his lips, and a light flashed in her eyes, which was the light of ambition.
"I found that those professional heroes are no different from those of our past companions. They also form cliques within them. Although they are restricted by codes on the surface, in fact, they are just a mess of sand. They need a leader to unite them. At this point, the Divine Powers and the others are very unsuccessful."
"They need a real leader, whether it is good or maintaining order, they can always do more things together."
"Mike, what does it mean to command an ordinary person?"
Ash turned over and rode on McCree, and she said to her lover:
"I've found a new goal...I'm going to build my own hero group, just like the 'All-Star Superman' composed of young people in Los Angeles. You know, Mike, I have the ability to command them, and I just want that feeling of control, that's a new game, and I think I'll win."
"I will convince you too... I will convince you to train me like I used to so that I will not be abandoned by the new world. Look, I have no muscles on my body. This is really a pity, so let's exercise."
Ash's nails slid on McCray's chest, and she bent down and whispered in the agent's ear:
"For the third time, I hope you won't lose this time."
"Wait... Um."
Before McCrae finished speaking, a new movement began, so he shut up and began to enjoy, well, the night is still long, and there is still time to persuade this ambitious fool girl.
Alas, what's wrong? I have to be a superhero...
There are too many things that the profession has to bear, and it really has no future.

"If you want to be a superhero, it's not OK to rely solely on a gun and a smart machine. In fact, the tests of the Heroes Association are not something that ordinary people can pass. The purpose of setting up those tests is to prevent ordinary people from doing things that exceed their abilities."
In the early morning, McCree put on his clothes, he looked back at the sleepy Ash, he walked over and kissed his girl on the forehead, he said:
"So you have to become more powerful to pass it. I thought about it carefully. Instead of letting you think of some messy ways and trying some unreliable ideas, I'd better help you think of ways to avoid being deceived."
He stroked Ash's hair and he whispered:
"Do you still remember Dr. Moira?"
"Well, remember, that old woman."
Ash nodded:
"Always look sarcastic."
"Uh, you'd better stop complaining about her."
McCree rubbed his forehead and said:
"Dr. Moira works at S.H.I.E.D., but she also has her own biological lab, and I heard she is looking for test items lately. I mean, if you really make up your mind...I can ask for you."
"I knew you were the best for me, Mike."
Ash kissed the agent's face and said enthusiastically:
"What kind of experiment is it?"
"It seems like a downgraded version of the witch hunter transformation, and there will be no alienated organs. I mean, your eyes will not mutate like me, but there seems to be her research results in recent years. This is a semi-official nature and has been registered for the trial, so its safety is at least guaranteed."
McCree sighed and said:
"I know you, you must do what you have made up your mind, so just wait for my news."
"I will go with you, no matter what happens in the future..."
