14. Attack(1/2)
A press conference is underway in the square of the Heroes of New York.
A group of superheroes wore very formal suits, restrained their personalities, and stood behind the honorary president Luke Cage.
Their solemn expressions, combined with Cage's low voice, made the press conference look full of some seriousness.
“The Heroes Association is willing to take responsibility for the two things that happened a few days ago that made people feel unfortunate.”
Luke Cage, wearing black-framed glasses, was watching the reporters' long guns and cannons in front of him, the spokesperson of the Heroes Association said:
“We have obtained a lot of forgiveness from victims over the past few days, but that’s not enough, and we are still actively contacting the remaining injured and the families.”
“We are willing to bear all treatment and rehabilitation costs for innocent people injured by our mistakes and unconditionally compensate the injured for all losses.”
"This incident is also a heavy lesson for the Heroes Association itself."
Cage looked at the speech clipped into the palm of his hand, he pushed his glasses, looked at the camera in front of him, and said:
"These sad things made us realize that the problems that the Heroes Association still have, and for organizations that aim to protect citizens, we still have many problems that need to be improved."
“Including our way of action, there are many things that should be valued but are ignored.”
"This is a warning that we need to be more attentive in our future work. In addition, according to the internal discussions of the Heroes Association, from today, we will establish the North American Superhero Foundation."
"This foundation will provide life, work and legal assistance to all ordinary people who are injured or affected by the actions of superheroes in the future."
Luke Cage said seriously:
"This also represents the fulfillment of the social responsibilities we should bear, but the just cause must continue."
"We have our own role in the order of this city, and we will continue to fulfill it and work harder to do our best."
The Divine Power Man's speech ended, and the reporters who were waiting in front of him immediately rushed forward and placed dozens of microphones in front of Cage, and they asked various questions.
"Mr. Divine Power Man, several small-scale parades have erupted in the city in recent days, protesting against the mistakes of the Heroes Association and the misconduct of superheroes. What do you think about this?"
"Cage, there are local senators who have proposed comprehensive legislation to ban superheroes in New York State. Do you think this will have an impact on the future of the Heroes Association?"
""
Some reporters also set their sights on the superheroes who slowly left behind Cage. Someone poked the microphone in front of Ash with a cold face, and he asked:
"Miss Ash"
“Nothing to be told.”
Before the reporter could finish his words, Ash left a sentence coldly.
Under the protection of Bob, the smart machine butler, Miss Fu left the scene in a low-key manner.
She walked to the front of her smart car and saw in the square outside the garage, the supporters and opponents of the superheroes were confronting each other. The number of opponents was large and they looked fierce.
But facing fans who waved flags, shouted slogans, and were extremely united, their actions of rushing into the press conference to make trouble ended in vain.
"How many people are collecting money for those who are shouting that superheroes are going to die? How many people have been saved by superheroes?"
Ash looked at the surging crowd in front of her and whispered:
"A good person who has always done good things will become a complete villain in their hearts if he has done something wrong once."
"They will hold on to your mistakes, and wish they could knock you to the ground, press them into the mud, and kick them hard. This is the end of being a good person."
"But there are also many people who support you, hostess."
Bob, the smart butler, opened the car door for Ash, and he comforted softly:
"Not everyone has chosen to forget your efforts to this city, nor has everyone been ungrateful."
"yes."
Ash got into the car and said:
"Who cares about those who abandon us? They are like dust and are not worth keeping at all. What matters is those who are still persevering."
"That's why I'm here today. I wouldn't have done this before when I was playing monkey drama with Cage and the others."
"Oh, I was also influenced by Jesse."
The smart car started, and the beautiful silver-gray sports car drove away from the garage. Ash sat in the back seat. She rubbed her forehead with her fingers, as if she was closing her eyes and resting. After a moment, she whispered:
"Check the background of those parade organizers and find some reliable private detectives, if they really charge money to do business."
"I know what to do, hostess."
Bob, who was sitting in the driver's seat, said:
"You don't have to interfere in these matters."
"Um."
Ash nodded, she stopped talking, but a few minutes later, the car was blocked at another intersection.
Ashe looked out of the car window and saw a huge parade blocking the intersection.
"Why are there parades here?"
She asked in surprise:
"Aren't those demonstrators all on the Heroes' Association today?"
"No, hostess, this is not a demonstration against superheroes."
Bob observed it and said to Ash:
"This should be a demonstration against mutants."
"Mutant?"
Ash blinked, and after a few seconds, she suddenly realized:
"Oh, that's the matter between Storm Girl."
"No, Jesse told me that SHIELD has already controlled information on that matter. Logically, it will not spread so quickly. In just a few days? Have they developed into demonstrations?"
"Traditional media has indeed been banned. After all, it is a policy that mutants have been promoting incorporating into human society for many years."
Bob explained to the hostess who doesn't pay much attention to the Internet:
"But the night this happened, it sparked a craze of discussion in the online world. Someone posted the complete video of Storm Girl killing innocent people online, and it was obvious that there were behind the scenes who were hyping up the incident."
"ShieldD may have implemented information control over the network, but those hackers always have a way to continue delivering messages."
The smart machine butler said:
"As far as I know, there are currently the last 25 information sources that are constantly pushing this across the entire network."
"As for this demonstration, the grudges between the hostess, mutants and humans have been going on for centuries, and the number of people who are hostile to mutants is terrifying."
"In the past few years, their voice has been suppressed due to official policies, but now, through this, they have started frequent activities again."
"Not only in New York, but also in North America, after the Storm Girl incident was pushed out, there are currently small-scale mutant boycott incidents across the world."
Bob turned his head to Ash in the back seat and said:
"Compared with the increasingly serious mutant incident, the affairs of the hostess and the Heroes Association are not even considered a drizzle. This is an older hatred, and the flame that had already been extinguished has been reignited."
"Didn't there be any reaction from the mutants?"
Ash watched the parade move in the other direction, and she said:
"For example, a press conference for monkey plays."
"No, Utopia has remained silent so far."
Bob said:
"They had no action except for publishing the investigation of the situation. They seemed to have given up interfering with the Storm Girl. Tomorrow morning, Storm Girl Ororo will be sent to court."
"They seem to be planning to get the rule of law system to handle this."
"But some human extremists have hit the police station where the storm women are imprisoned several times."
The Intelligent Machinery Butler said worriedly:
"Ms. Ororo got into this trouble to protect mutant children. In the eyes of some radical mutant people, she is a hero, and this incident is undoubtedly a frame-up blow to the mutant hero by the immortal human beings."
"So some radical mutants were also staying near that police station, they wanted to protect their heroes, and there had been several clashes between the two."
"Have the situation worsened to this level?"
Ash rubbed his smooth forehead and said:
"As long as the gun gets fired, and the intentional guidance of those who are interested is really deadly."
She said in a daze:
"What the hell is going on?"
"It was obviously peaceful a few days ago."
"Some people are unwilling to be lonely, and some people like to watch the world burning, the hostess."
After the crowds of protests left, Bob restarted the car and on a messy street, the smart butler said to his mistress:
"The mutual hatred between humans is your natural sin, and this sin is engraved into everyone's bones."
