16. Hunting(2/3)
He seemed to have smelled the same smell on Merlin, and more than once.
Matt let go of his hands and asked:
"You... are you Merlin's friend?"
“!!!”
Zatanna was really surprised now.
The relationship between her and Merlin was very, very secretive, and no one knew it except the two.
This guy in front of me...
It's interesting.
"Yes, I'm Merlin's friend."
Zatanna used voice change magic to distort her voice for a while, and it sounded a little low, she said:
"I passed by here and accidentally saw your battle... Go back, kid, Merlin would not want to see the people he cared for and protected, and was here to have a lifelong life with a bunch of scum."
“He did say it.”
Matt said:
“He said superheroes are a very promising job.”
"Then why are you still here?"
Zatanna said:
"Are you an unbearable child? Don't you listen to your adoptive father?"
“I just…”
Facing Zatanna's questioning, Matt was silent for a moment, and he said:
"I just don't want to see that the world where Merlin sacrificed himself to save was disturbed by these guys. I just do some work within my ability, and the volunteer police are not my main job."
"Yeah?"
Zatanna pursed her lips and looked at the young man with super-sensory senses in front of her.
After a moment, she turned and walked into the darkness, and before leaving, she said to Matt:
"The next time you jump out to fight crime, it's best to wear some armor, bring a weapon, protect yourself and not get hurt..."
“Merlin will be sad.”

"Matt? Have you had a good rest tonight?"
After Matt returned to his apartment, a phone call came from a distant place.
Riven's iconic, calm, with almost no emotional fluctuation sound came from the phone, she said:
"You don't need to interfere in New York. We will deal with it when we go back."
"I just finished a lawsuit."
Matt washed up like a normal person in the bathroom, he said:
"I know my limits very well, Raven, don't worry about me."
"You should call me sister!"
Raven said:
"Stay at home honestly. If I go back and find that there are more wounds on you... you will be dead!"
“No.”
Matt smiled and said:
"They can't hit me at all."
"Anyway, don't go out again!"
Riven's tone became harsh:
"Be your lawyer well, don't worry about other things, we will be back soon."
After a moment, Riven's voice became gentle again, and she said to Matt:
"It's Peter's birthday soon. You have to prepare a gift, don't forget."
"Well, I bought it on my way to work today."
Matt picked up his razor while wiping his hair with a towel, and he said:
"Have you been doing well over there?"
“It went smoothly.”
Raven said:
"I've found it, and it'll be over soon. Okay, let's not talk about it, you can rest early."
After saying that, Raven hung up the phone.
Matt, the blind blind man, shaved his beard quickly, stroked his smooth chin and planned to go to bed to rest.
But as he walked out of the bathroom, his ears moved.
Two blocks away, there were voices calling for help.
It's a woman...
There are also gunshots.
"Furo..."
Matt breathed a sigh of relief, he clasped his black hood over his head, opened the window and was about to jump out.
But before jumping out, he suddenly remembered the advice given to him by the mysterious lady just now. Matt turned around, rushed into the study, and put a black box in his pocket.
The moment he jumped out of the window, Matt shrugged.
"Merlin left me...I hope I didn't use it."
On the other side, half of the earth, on the cold snowfields of Siberia, in a tent.
Amid the burning candlelight, Riven, wearing round-frame glasses, was sorting out some magic materials that had been processed.
Beside her, wearing thick fur, Lorna, who dressed herself up like a slender polar bear, ate sealed jerky.
She listened to the howling sound of the cold wind coming from outside the tent.
The green-haired girl glanced at her behind her again.
In the corner of the tent, Laura, a little wolf girl in black and yellow combat uniform, was sitting cross-legged, using a whetstone to sharpen the quaint samurai sword in her hand.
Laura grinded very seriously. Amid the sound of the sharp blade, a wild light shining in the little wolf girl's eyes.
She is ready to fight at any time.
Lorna curled her lips, and she glanced at the samurai sword in Laura's hand with a little enviousness.
That was left by Merlin for the little wolf girl.
Of course, Merlin also left some things for her, but compared to Laura's cool gift, what she got was frustrated.
At least it looks frustrated.
Lorna quickly finished her jerky meat. She licked her lips and said to Raven, who was preparing the spell casting materials:
"Is Matt still obedient at home?"
"No, I'm not obedient at all."
Ruiwen calmly answered:
"I, Totak, help us watch him, but Tuk called yesterday and said that there was a volunteer policeman who was doing justice in the dark in the past few days in Hell's Kitchen..."
"He wants to do something, too."
Lorna shrugged, she touched her green hair, she said:
"He didn't want to see the city Merlin tried hard to protect again into chaos. I heard that after the Heroes Association dissolved, the security situation in New York began to worsen again."
"He is a lawyer."
Raven said:
"He can use the law to make the city better without having to go barefoot and knock down those criminals in the dark..."
"He is different from us. He is just an ordinary person with a sharper sense."
“Advanced?”
Lorna exaggeratedly spread her hands and said:
"I think there are few people in this world who have sharper senses than Matt. He is like a personal radar. What's more, didn't Merlin leave some things for him?"
To be continued...
