Chapter 30 Missionary Master

The Observer Beholder is a low-level beholder summoned from other planes of existence using rituals.

Generally speaking, a summoned beholder will guard the location or treasure specified by the summoner for 101 years.

During this time, they prevent any creature other than the summoner from entering the location or approaching the treasure.

Unless otherwise instructed by the summoner, a watcher beholder will never deviate from its duties.

If it is still alive, it will be free to do whatever it wants until it completes its mission.

Thinking of this, Brian immediately realized that the Observer Demon floating in mid-air in front of him was probably guarding something here.

Because of the character of observer beholders, they will not only stand guard according to the summoning regulations, but also like to talk openly about their duties and summoners with people passing by.

The Observer Beholder will not attack passers-by as long as they are not plotting against the object it protects.

On the contrary, due to their long guarding, they have developed a slight madness. When they see outsiders passing by, they become even more talkative than a brass dragon.

Brian signaled the sword mage beside him to stop talking. He looked at the observer beholder floating in mid-air, "So, it was you who led me here. Tell me your identity and purpose."

"Viktor's name is Victor, and Victor is the most perfect creation of the 'Great Mother'." The Observer Beholder circled around Brian and Hesiah, spinning quickly and excitedly.

"You two surface people, don't you know? This is the Underdark. Only fools or adventurers would go so far to come here, but you actually dare to cross the dry underground river and squeeze through the narrow

Crack, to spy on the treasure guarded by Victor...

You are so stupid! A beholder as smart and perfect as Victor has already set up a circle of light strips composed of fluorescent stones in his guardian place, and hid them in the fungus on the stone wall.

They infiltrate surveillance rays day and night that can be observed by Victor. Therefore, no energetic wizard or adventurer can escape from Victor's surveillance. Because the smart Victor is the most perfect 'Great Mistress'

Creation, such a simple method, how could Victor not think of it..."

Is he really a talkative, narcissistic man with severe persecutory paranoia?

Brian muttered in his mind.

Hesiah heard his whisper, recalled the information about the observer beholder, and her eyes towards the beholder gradually became weird.

"Oh! Victor knows, you must be jealous that Victor is the most perfect creation of the 'Great Mother', so you want to persecute Victor and then steal the treasures that Victor protects. Right?

"

"Can't this be an accident?" Brian looked up at the beholder, "In fact, we just passed by here accidentally. It was you who guided me here."

In fact, if he hadn't known about the urine properties of the Observer Beholder, Brian would have run away long ago.

Moreover, when he heard the other party mention the treasure many times, he couldn't help but become very curious.

The observer beholder turned a big eye on the flesh ball, looked at Brian, and retorted:

"This is impossible! Victor has long sensed that an evil force is stimulating the energy radiated by the earth's veins. It is this energy that forcibly changes the course of the underground river near Victor, and also destroys Victor's guardianship.

A small crack opened in the earthquake, and even the demons of the abyss began to slowly wake up in the darkness."

After hearing about the Abyss Demon, Brian and Hesiah looked at each other secretly.

He finally understood that the vlo demons and hiss demons encountered on the Fansi Trail were probably caused by the energy radiated by the earth veins.

"What does this have to do with us?"

Brian added, "A perfect beholder like you should be able to see how our strength can trigger such a powerful force."

"Nonsense, you don't need to say this. Victor is the most perfect creation of the 'Great Mother'. Even if you didn't do it, you are definitely an accomplice."

The Observer Beholder became more and more enthusiastic, "Because you didn't know where Victor was hiding, so you used the power of leyline radiation to redirect the underground river and found the place where Victor was guarding the treasure, especially you!"

A big eye on the flesh ball and four small eyes on the tentacles twisting like snakes all stared at Brian, making him feel hairy all over.

"You cunning guy, even if you change the course of the underground river, you still can't find the place where Victor protects the treasure, because Victor's master said that only the luckiest people, or those who have been favored by the goddess of luck,

Only people can discover Victor’s place of protection.”

Hearing these words, Brian thought of the goblin copper block that led them to this cave.

If what this beholder said is true, then their arrival here is not a coincidence at all, but more like the lucky attribute of the copper block.

This also means...

Brian didn't think about it any further.

Because he never likes to pin his future on the hidden attribute of 'luck'.

"You couldn't find Victor's guardian place, so you found a little goblin who had been favored by the goddess of luck, and asked this little goblin to lead you. Only then did you find Victor's guardian place."

The Observer's eyes continued to stare at Brian with four big and small eyes, "Moreover, in order to monopolize the treasures guarded by Victor, you also deliberately set up illusions and warning circles outside the cave. In this case, your companions

There is no need to keep vigil, and everyone can sleep peacefully, and you can take advantage of them all to fall asleep, drag your female companion and sneak over together to get their hands on the treasures that Victor is guarding. Otherwise, you

Why don't you let that big stupid bear come with you."

"This analysis is so... I almost believe it." Hesiah looked at Brian with a strange expression.

"It's fighting against the air." Brian complained to the sword mage next to him in a low and inaudible voice.

"But in a sense, it is more out of caution, and there is nothing wrong with it." Hesiah suppressed a smile and expressed his evaluation of the observer's beholder.

"Because Victor is the most perfect creation of the Great Mistress."

The Observer Beholder said proudly, "So, from the moment you stepped into Victor's guardian land, Victor saw through your intentions. So, Victor used a trick to lure you in advance.

Come here, in the words of Master Victor: Victor has predicted your prediction."

"He's just a beholder who's about to become a sperm." Brian complained in his mind.

He thought for a moment and then looked at the beholder, "Since you have predicted my prediction, what should you do next after you attract me?"

"Ah?...Why did Victor ask you to come here?" The observer was stunned when Brian asked, "What are you doing? Why did Victor send you such an important thing?"

Forgot."

"..."

Brian was a little confused by the other party's weird ideas.

"Didn't you just say that your master said that only the luckiest people, or those who have been favored by the goddess of luck, can discover Victor's guardian place."

Hesiah's silver-gray eyes flickered and reminded: "Then, what does your master mean by these words?"

"Shut up! Victor is the most perfect creation of the 'Great Mother'. How could he forget these little things? Victor doesn't need you to remind him." The Observer Beholder yelled at Hesiah and became angry again.

He hummed and said:

"Victor's master said that as long as you find Victor's guardian place, answer the three questions raised by Victor, and then ask three questions to Victor, if you answer all of Victor's questions correctly

, and also stumped Victor with his own questions, then you can get the treasure left by Master Victor."

"Victor advises you to give up as soon as possible, because Victor is the most perfect creation of the 'Great Mother', and the smart Victor knows everything."

The Observer Beholder said narcissistically: "Even the Mind Flayer Lich of the Shining Society left dejectedly because of Victor's question, and it's even less possible for you."

"So, people from the Shining Society have been here?" Brian grasped another key point of the question.

The Glorious Society is a secret organization composed of various highly intelligent neutral monsters such as mind flayer lichs, gray dwarf mind catchers, Warcraft sword masters, troglodyte rangers, and kuo-toa high priests.

Their main purpose is to solve the various strange phenomena that occur in the Underdark.

When the Abyss Demons were raging in the Dark Territory, if the people of the Shining Society had not contributed to collect materials for the chief mage of Ancient Orens City, he would not have been able to turn the tide and solve this disaster.

From the words of the beholder, we can know that these people should have noticed the strange phenomenon of earth vein radiation.

"Hey! Are you listening to what Victor is saying?" The Observer Beholder yelled at Brian: "Victor is talking about his master, not the lich of the Shining Society!"

"Master? What happened to your master?" Brian was too lazy to argue with him. He returned to the topic and asked curiously.

"Viktor's master said that as long as someone inherits the master's treasure, Victor can regain his freedom." The beholder explained to the two of them.

"Didn't your master summon you from the mechanical mirror?" Brian said doubtfully, "Isn't there only a 101-year period between you and your master?"

"Victor is not that low-grade beholder." The beholder said disdainfully, "Victor is the most perfect creation of the 'Great Mistress' and the most impeccable beholder."

"After talking so much nonsense, you still haven't said what you are." Brian looked at this narcissistic beholder and asked patiently.

It wasn't until this moment that he realized how patient he was.

In the game, he would have thrown it with a fireball.

"Victor is nothing!"

The beholder stared at Brian with his eyes wide, one big, four small and five small, and yelled at Brian: "Viktor is the demon pet that the master invited from the mechanical mirror. Victor is not a thing!"

"Okay, okay, I understand, you are not a thing, then who is your master?"

Brian suppressed a smile, appeased its anger, and said helplessly.

The sword mage standing next to him was almost laughing out loud at this narcissistic beholder.

Being able to use a beholder as a familiar is not something that ordinary wizards can do, which makes Brian a little curious about who the master of this narcissist is.
