Chapter 18 Wandering Children
Roger and his group came to Chengdong District of the capital.
The east district of Chengdong is a famous slum area. It gathers the entire capital and even the poor people who love Santana. Some of them have always lived here, while others have dreams and want to work hard in the capital, but the reality is so cruel that they can only continue to work hard for their dreams in this place.
The orphanage is located in the innermost part of the east district of the city and does not cover a large area, but it houses many orphans. The original director was a kind-hearted person. Even though the orphanage was very small, he still insisted on adopting orphans, and at the same time, he ran around to ask for assistance for the existence of the orphanage.
Roger and others soon arrived at a place not far from the orphanage, but they stopped here.
"Roger, there is a fainting child here." A soldier said to Roger loudly.
Roger hurried over. The child was covered in tattered clothes and covered in dirt. He lay quietly on the ground. "I fainted from hunger." Roger looked at it.
"Go to the porridge shop over there and buy some porridge and feed it to him." Roger said to a soldier.
The soldier nodded and hurried over.
After buying the porridge, Roger fed the child. After a while, the child finally woke up slowly.
Roger only saw the child's appearance clearly at this time. "Aegwen, why is it you? Why did you faint here?" Roger said in surprise.
It turned out that this child was an orphan in the orphanage and was good friends with Roger's younger brother Luo Sai.
"Brother Roger!" Aegwen also saw Roger clearly and said weakly.
Roger picked up Egwen, and the group found a place to sit down.
"Eggwen, what happened? Shouldn't you be in an orphanage? How could you fall on the street?" Roger asked in confusion.
Eggwen tried hard to sit up, Roger helped him well. Eggwen said, "Brother Roger, this is the thing. Just a month ago, Dean Arut began to expel older brothers and sisters and let them go out to make a living by themselves. Some staff members were also driven out by Dean Arut, saying that the orphanage was in a recession and could not raise so many people."
Eggwent paused and continued, "Not only that, ten days ago, President Arut actually started to expel us. Luosai and the other two had to leave the orphanage. In order to survive these days, we could only beg along the street, but..."
Roger knew what he meant. This was a slum. These ordinary people might not even be able to support themselves. How could they give money to Aegwen and the others?
"Where are Rosay and the others?"
"I'll take you there in an alley not far away!" said Eggwen.
"Let's go!" Roger hugged Egwen and rushed to where he said.
After walking for more than ten minutes, the group finally arrived at the place Aegwen said.
This is a dark alley with a stench everywhere, and everyone covered their noses.
"It's inside." Eggwen pointed inside and shouted, "Rossie, Alos, Pete, are you here?"
After a long time, a weak voice came, "Aegwen, we are all here, Luo Sai fainted from hunger, have you found food?"
Hearing that Luo Sai fainted from hunger, Roger immediately rushed over. Three little boys of similar age sat together, one of whom rested his head on the other boy's lap and was unconscious.
Aegwen also came over at this time, and he said, "Alos, Pete, this is Rosey's brother Roger. Today he gave me food and woke me up."
"Li, give them some food." Roger said to Li.
Li took a small part of the food and handed it to Alos and Pete, not because they were stingy, but because they had been hungry for too long. If they ate too much, they might die of bloating.
Arrows and Pete quickly took the food and started to eat it voraciously.
After Roger fed the porridge, Rosai finally woke up slowly.
"Rosai, are you okay?" Roger asked with concern.
Luo Sai saw clearly the face in front of him, it was his brother!
"Brother, why are you here until now? I miss you so much!" Luo Sai said with a sob.
When Roger saw Rosai's miserable appearance, he couldn't help but feel a sore nose and said, "It's all my brother's fault. I didn't expect you to be so."
Roger brought a few children and a group of people to the bathhouse to take a clean bath for the four children. After taking a shower, the four children became much better.
"Rosai, don't I send you money every month? Even if the orphanage drives you out, you shouldn't be like this!" Roger asked Rosai.
Luo Sai said bitterly, "Brother, I haven't received the money you sent to me a few months ago. Every time I go to Dean Arut to collect money, he says you haven't sent it, and I dare not ask too much. In this way, I haven't received the money for several months."
"What?" Roger probably already knew the whole story. Dean Arut must have embezzled the money he sent to Rosai, but why did he drive out the children? Just because the orphanage can't afford to raise so many people? This reason is not very valid!
Roger was more angry. This bastard director dared to embezzle his own money! Roger was forced to join the army because of this guy. Roger could no longer help but settle the score with this guy.
Roger led his men to the place where the orphanage was located.
When they arrived at the entrance of the orphanage, Arut happened to be at the entrance, and the three children were asking for something with their thighs.
Roger and others walked closer and heard the children's crying, "Dean, we can help the orphanage, please don't drive us away, please!"
But Arut said impatiently, "Didn't I say it? The orphanage can no longer afford you, so you should go out and find a way out!"
The children still did not let go of their hands. Arut kicked them away impatiently, and the children sat on the ground and cried helplessly.
"Arut!" Roger roared angrily, Arut looked back and said in confusion, "Who are you?"
"Hmph, don't you know me anymore? I am also the child who was expelled by you back then. My name is Roger!" Roger said angrily.
"Oh, Roger!" Arut's eyes flashed, and he obviously realized that something was wrong.
Roger walked over and grabbed Arut's collar. "You tm actually dared to embezzle the money I sent to my brother Rosai, and drove him and other children out of the orphanage. What do you mean?"
Arut raised his head and said, "Didn't I say that the orphanage can no longer support them, they have the ability to support themselves."
"Bastard, these kids are only seven or eight years old, how can you support yourself!" Roger said furiously.
Arut didn't speak, looking at Roger arrogantly.
