Chapter 21 Peeling Oranges

Jiang Shen finished his bath and sat by the window wiping his hair.

The faint smell of soapberry filled the whole house. Jiang Shen opened the window and let the cold air from outside rush into the house.

He doesn't like heat, but this chilling coolness is just right for him.

The smell of blood from last night lingered on the tip of his nose. He had just taken a shower and the smell was washed away.

He thought back to the questions he asked the man last night.

Who did he offend?

"Yes...it's Mr. Xu Luoxu." The man's body was limp and he couldn't even speak clearly.

"Xu Luo..." Jiang Shen read the name slowly. He seemed to remember the person who tricked him into the ice cellar last time. It seemed that this was the person.

But this time, what he did was obviously worse than last time.

"These young men are really becoming more and more promising." Jiang Shen said, throwing the cloth he was wiping his hair on the table.

--

Su Changle did not catch up on his sleep after washing himself.

Even though she didn't sleep all night, she was not sleepy at all now.

She rushed directly to Prince Jin's Mansion, thinking about telling her parents about her entry into the palace last night. After all, in addition to her own decisions, many things also required her parents' support.

Su Changle wore a maroon coat and skirt, and put a little more makeup on her face to cover up the dark circles under her eyes.

"Come on, good girl!"

Su Changle came back early, just in time for breakfast at the palace.

When Princess Jin saw Su Changle appear at the door, she quickly put down her chopsticks and stood up to welcome Su Changle over.

"You haven't eaten yet, hurry up and bring me a pair of chopsticks." Princess Jin called to the maid next to her and brought a pair of bowls and chopsticks to Su Changle.

Su Changle hasn't eaten since last night.

But so many things happened that even Su Changle, who was unhappy because he was hungry, forgot about eating.

It was only now, when Su Changle was sitting at the dinner table at home, that she really felt hungry.

So Su Changle ate several small buns before he could say anything.

Princess Jin looked at Su Changle from the side and smiled: "Who is this that makes us so hungry? Why are we so voracious?"

"The buns at home are so delicious." Su Changle said with a smile.

She wouldn't let her family know that she ran out all night last night.

"Slow down, slow down. If you like it, if it doesn't work, let the cook go back with you." Princess Jin originally ate less in the morning, but now she was very happy to see Su Changle eating well.

"No, if I want to eat, I can just come back and eat."

Su Changle finished his meal well, his stomach was warm, and then he mentioned what happened last night.

"You said you entered the palace last night?"

King Jin frowned. He didn't hear the news that His Majesty wanted to summon him last night.

"Yes," Su Changle nodded, a little worried, "Your Majesty didn't summon dad last night, so I don't know what your Majesty meant."

Su Changle came back early today, and Su Heng didn't go to Dali Temple either.

After listening to Su Changle's words, he analyzed: "From what I heard, His Majesty didn't seem to want to forcefully grant a marriage to you and Fu Yan. If he meant to grant a marriage, he would definitely say so."

Su Changle nodded: "Brother is right."

"Because I'm not sure what your Majesty means, you shouldn't be too harsh on Fu Yan."

Su Changle responded obediently: "Okay, listen to brother."

Su Heng looked at Su Changle and sighed slightly: "You have to be really obedient."

"You are right, there is no girl in Jinling City who is more obedient than your sister!" After hearing Su Heng's words, King Jin quickly jumped up to defend Su Changle.

Su Heng had long been accustomed to King Jin's behavior of protecting his calf.

He put on his cloak, shook his head and walked out the door with a look of helplessness.

Su Changle promised obediently: "I will really be obedient, even if His Majesty asks me to go on a date with that Fu Yan!"

"What about getting married?" Princess Jin teased her with a smile.

"That won't work!" Su Changle immediately denied, "This is definitely not okay!"

"Anyway, good girl, if His Majesty's intention is still undecided, then we'd better make preparations in advance. Father and mother still hope that you can find someone you like."

Princess Jin blinked: "After all, you have to live your life whether you feel comfortable or not."

"I understand everything mom said, but I really like Jiang Shen." Su Changle said firmly, "This time it's true, it's not just a joke."

Su Changle came out of Prince Jin's Mansion. She didn't tell her family what happened to Jiang Shen last night.

The enemy is now in the dark. If we alert the enemy, there is no chance that the opponent will jump.

This is why Su Changle sent Jiang Shen back to his home yesterday.

Perhaps maintaining a certain distance on the surface now is a kind of protection for Jiang Shen.

Su Changle sighed slightly, and Azhu, who was following her, advised: "Your Majesty, please don't sleep for a while. I didn't sleep at all last night. I guess I'm mentally disturbed."

Su Changle nodded.

The carriage was driving smoothly, but now it deliberately slowed down. Su Changle slowly fell asleep leaning on Ah Zhu's shoulder amid the shaking.

But not long after, the carriage suddenly stopped.

Su Changle rubbed his eyes and asked in a hoarse voice: "Are we here yet?"

"Not yet." Azhu opened the car curtain and saw that the door outside was not the princess's mansion.

The voice of the coachman outside came over: "Princess, this is Mr. Xiao Fu."

Fu Yan?

Su Changle now has a headache when she hears this name. She can clearly feel that this person is going to be entangled with her to the end.

Su Changle was about to lose his temper, but suddenly thought of what Su Heng said this morning.

Su Changle narrowed his eyes: "I mean you are obedient when I say you are obedient. In this case, I will give you a good look!"

Su Changle said, reaching out and opening the car curtain.

She pretended to be surprised and said with a smile: "Oh, what a coincidence, I can meet Mr. Xiao Fu here."

Fu Yan had also gotten off the carriage. He was standing in front of Su Changle's carriage, wondering what he was thinking.

When he heard Su Changle's voice, he raised his head and said to Su Changle: "It's not a coincidence. The official wanted to see the princess for something. He learned that the princess was not in the mansion, so he waited here."

Fu Yan was telling the truth. These words were indeed the only way for Su Changle to return home.

only……

Su Changle smiled and blinked: "What if this princess never comes back? Is it possible that Master Xiao Fu has to wait here all the time?"

Su Changle promised Su Heng to give Fu Yan some good looks.

But it's just a good look.

Anyone could tell that Su Changle's words were full of gun and stick. After all, Su Changle had learned a lot about Lin Huaichuan's yin and yang aura over the years.

Of course Fu Yan knew that Su Changle didn't want to see him at all now.

But……

He met Su Changle's eyes and said, "It doesn't matter if I have to wait here all day for the princess."

When Su Changle heard this, he shuddered subconsciously.

"It's not necessary." Su Changle quickly refused. She quickly turned her face away and said to Fu Yan, "I wonder what Mr. Fu wants to say to this princess?"

Fu Yan paused, then stepped forward and whispered his name to Su Changle.

Su Changle paused, then glanced at Fu Yan: "Then where will Mr. Fu plan to say it?"

"Xiaguan has been waiting here for a long time for the princess. Since the princess is like this, why don't you go to have lunch with me? This way, you can have time to talk to the princess in detail."

"Isn't it just a meal? It's easy to say." Su Changle nodded: "Since Mr. Fu didn't have lunch because he was waiting for me, how about Mr. Fu and me go back to the house together?"

"I have long heard that the banquets at the Princess's residence are very good, so I would like to thank the Princess very much."

Su Changle smiled and nodded. When she returned to the carriage and lowered the curtain, the face that had been smiling just now suddenly fell.

Fu Yan really doesn't live up to his name, and he's not easy to deal with at all...

The two carriages returned to the Princess's Mansion one after the other.

As soon as Su Changle got off the carriage, he raised a polite smile and not only welcomed Fu Yan into the house well, but also asked the kitchen to prepare the best meal.

Su Changle even personally welcomed the person into the study room that no one else was allowed to enter.

Su Changle's study also smelled of light fragrance.

Fu Yan smelled the sweet smell as soon as he came in: "At this time of year, why does the princess's study smell like grapes?"

"This is the incense made by someone in the summer. If Mr. Fu likes it, I will take some away later."

Su Changle is quite generous.

But Fu Yan usually smells stronger than this.

Fu Yan shook his head: "This fragrance is still suitable for the princess."

If someone is wrong, Su Changle doesn't like this, so she personally poured a cup of tea for Fu Yan.

"I wonder what Mr. Fu just said to me..." Su Changle paused in mid-sentence, just waiting for Fu Yan to continue.

Of course Fu Yan knew what Su Changle was talking about. If he hadn't said the word "Jiang Shen" in front of the carriage just now, Su Changle would never have brought him back to his house.

He slowly raised his hand and took a sip of tea: "The princess's tea is good."

Su Changle continued to smile politely, but what he said in his eyes was: I don’t have time to listen to you.

Fu Yan put the tea cup back in its place: "I heard that Jiang Shen was kidnapped last night?"

You don't need to hear about it.

Su Changle is not stupid, she certainly knows that if there is a heart in Jinling City, everything will not be a secret.

"Master Xiao Fu is really well-informed." Su Changle pinched the orange in the fruit plate on the table and slowly peeled the skin off, "Master Xiao Fu is definitely not here to tell this to the princess, right?"

She slowly placed the peeled orange in front of Fu Yan: "If Mr. Fu says this, then I, the princess, will go back to catch up on her sleep."

Su Changle yawned slightly: "I'm really sleepy..."

"Of course the official is not just talking about this." Fu Yan picked up the orange on the table and ate a piece. "After all, the oranges from the princess are very expensive."

"It's good that Master Xiao Fu knows. Why don't you tell me quickly? I'm quick in the kitchen and I'll be able to eat in a while."

She didn't know Su Changle's patience with others, but his patience with Fu Yan was not very good.

"The princess didn't make a big show of looking for anyone last night. She must have wanted to avoid alerting the enemy. The official must first make it clear that what happened last night was not his fault. After all, it will not do him any good if he angered the princess."

Su Chang nodded: I can still listen to what this man said.

"So after I heard about this matter last night, I went to check it out for the princess. This matter is actually not difficult. If the princess goes by herself, she will definitely find out in time."

"Then you're still coming?"

"Of course he surrendered to the princess," Fu Yan ate the orange, "and the news was worth it in exchange for the oranges peeled by the princess herself."

Listening to these words, Su Changle really felt that his ears were not good!

She first apologized to Su Heng silently in her heart.

Then he grabbed the remaining peel on the table and threw it directly towards Fu Yan's face.

after all……

If you hit someone, hit him in the face!

No matter who he is!
