Chapter 610 The League Headquarters

Although there are many people in Yakov, the terrain on the north is complex, with hills, forests and lakes. It is reasonable to not meet Samoilov who returned during the transfer.
At this moment, Sokov didn't bother to study where Yakov and the others went, but asked directly: "Lieutenant Samoilov, I remember you seem to know German. How good is your level?"
Samoilov didn't know the purpose of Sokov's question, but he answered truthfully: "I learned some basic terms before the war, and I studied with Corporal Ernst for a while in the past two months, and communicated with the Germans. There should be no problem."
"That's great." Learning that Samoilov's German language was enough to communicate with the Germans, Sokov ordered repeatedly: "You can go find a German uniform to change it later, and then go to the south to help Colonel Gurdiev."
"Comrade Brigade Commander, why did you let me wear German uniform?" Hearing such an inexplicable order, Samoilov asked in confusion: "If I appeared on the position in the German uniform, would I misunderstand the comrades of the 308th Division?"
"You don't have to worry about this." Sokov saw that Samoilov was a little afraid of his hands and feet, so he comforted him and said, "Now, with the trench where we are, the soldiers on the north side are all wearing our uniforms, while most of the soldiers on the south side are wearing German uniforms."
Samoilov and Sokov have been together for quite some time. He knows his brigade commander very well and likes to do some disguised reconnaissance or sneak attacks. At this moment, he heard that the soldiers on the south side of the hill were all wearing German uniforms, and his eyes were glowing. He asked: "Comrade Brigade Commander, are you planning to attack somewhere again?"
"This is not a place to talk," Sokov saw several soldiers from the 308th Division standing in the nearby trenches, and greeted Samoilov: "Let's go to the command center and talk."
After arriving at the command center, Sokov said to Samoilov: "If the positions were all my subordinates, maybe I could really use these German uniforms to launch a sneak attack on the enemy. Unfortunately, the commanders and soldiers of the 308th Division are now left here. If they were asked to perform disguised missions, it would be easy to get rid of them."
Hearing Sokov say this, Samoilov also smiled bitterly, "Yes, comrade Brigade Commander, if Captain Vanya's battalion were there, maybe we could really use the German uniforms on our bodies to sneak attack the Germans and give them an unforgettable lesson."
"Okay, stop talking nonsense, go and change clothes quickly." Sokov urged the other party: "After changing the clothes, go and report to Colonel Gurdiev, telling him that you know German, maybe you will be able to use it soon."
After raising his hand to salute, Samoilov turned around and walked out of the command center. Bere, who was standing at the door, held his hands in front of his chest, leaning against the earth wall, looked at Samoilov's back, and asked with some concern: "Comrade Brigade Commander, can Lieutenant Samoilov's German be fooled by the German?"
"I once heard Corporal Ernst say that Lieutenant Samoilov is the most talented among the people he has ever met." Sokov said casually: "After just learning German for two months, he can speak fluent German. If someone who does not know his identity will think he is an authentic German."
…………
Ball left the position on a motorcycle, and on his way to the division headquarters, he passed the village where the Tank Battalion once lurked. Next to this ruined village, there were many tanks, armored vehicles and trucks neatly parked, and there were dense tents nearby. It seemed that there was at least a regiment of troops.
Several sentries on duty saw Ball appearing on a motorcycle and immediately raised their guns to aim. One of the sergeants asked loudly: "Stop, what are you doing?"
Ball was afraid that his movements would stimulate the other party, so he stopped the motorcycle, raised his hands high above his head, and said loudly: "Don't shoot, I'm the messenger of the 94th Infantry Division."
I saw an isolated soldier here. The German sergeant never thought that this might be an enemy, and he thought it was a deserter. Therefore, he did not ask his subordinates to put down his gun, but brought two soldiers over and said sternly to Ball: "Take out your soldier's certificate and I want to check it!"
Ball continued to hold up with one hand, and slowly took out the ID from his pocket with the other hand and handed it to the German sergeant, and emphasized: "Sergeant, there is a pass from the division in the soldier's certificate."
The German sergeant took the soldier's certificate and compared Ball with the photos above. After looking at the pass issued by the division headquarters twice, he turned around and waved his hand at his soldiers, signaling them to put down his weapons. When he handed the certificate back to Ball, the sergeant asked curiously: "Corporal Ball, what are you here to do?"
"Our army is stationed on the hillside to the north, with a battalion of the 276th Regiment. Their mission is to block the Russians rushing from the north." Ball replied in a panic while putting his ID in his pocket: "Since their radio station is broken, the division headquarters can only send me to send them a letter, ordering them to guard there at all costs and never let the Russians cross their defense."
Ball took out the cigarettes from his pocket, dispersed one for the Sergeant and the soldiers behind him, and then diligently lit the fire for them, and asked tentatively, "Sergeant, what part are you from?"
"We are from the 547th Regiment of the 389th Infantry Division." The sergeant replied, "I am ordered to come here to help you and eliminate the Russian Orlovka protrusion. Who knew that after we arrived here, we found that the Russian positions were empty, and I don't know where they had gone. Have you ever seen any Russians along the way?"
When Ball heard the German sergeant's question, he couldn't help but tremble. After all, he had just escaped from the Russians and was somewhat lacking in confidence. He shook his head and said in a panic: "How could he meet Russians? You know, our army is everywhere, and they are too late to hide, so why dare to show up?"
The German sergeant did not notice Ball's abnormality, and said to himself while smoking: "It's a hell. According to our reconnaissance information, the Russians surrounded in the Orlovka area have at least one division's troops. How could they be gone if they are gone?" Ball did not dare to answer the conversation, but just buried his head in smoking to cover up his anxiety.
"Corporal," said the German sergeant, put an arm on Ball's shoulder, and said kindly: "Go to meet the commander with me and report to him about the situation nearby."
Ball quickly refused and said, "No, Sergeant, I still have something to do. I have to rush back to the division headquarters immediately. If you have the chance, I will be assigned to the regiment headquarters."
"Why are you so silly? Just go when you want to go." Seeing that Ball was unwilling to go to the regiment headquarters, the sergeant glared at him and said in a stern tone: "If you don't go, you don't want to leave here."
Seeing this, Ball knew that if he didn't follow the sergeant to go to the regiment headquarters, he would definitely not be able to get out. He could only say, "Okay, sergeant, I'll go to the regiment commander with you. After answering his questions, I need to return to the division headquarters immediately."
"I understand, let's go." The sergeant said, and then grabbed Ball and walked towards the dense tent.
When he came to a tent with soldiers standing guard, the sergeant asked Ball to wait for a moment, then he stepped forward and muttered a few words to a sentry, and walked into the tent. Not long after, the sergeant came out of it, waved his head at Ball, and said, "Come in, Corporal Ball, our regiment commander wants to see you."
After Ball walked into the tent, he saw a bald colonel and a lieutenant colonel wearing a military cap standing at a table facing the tent door. He quickly stepped forward and raised his hand, shouting loudly: Hi, Hitler!
After hearing Ball's voice, the colonel stood up straight and turned around, and asked at him, "Are you the correspondent of the 94th Infantry Division?"
"Yes, Mr. Colonel." Ball quickly replied: "I was originally an engineer of the 94th Infantry Division. Because the communications soldiers suffered too much loss in the battle, they were temporarily assigned the communications soldiers' mission."
"Corporal, what is your mission?" the colonel asked curiously.
"Report to Mr. Colonel," Ball stood upright like a telephone pole and replied respectfully: "I am ordered to send orders to the first battalion of the 276th Infantry Regiment, so that they can hold their positions at all costs, and the Russians must not go further."
The colonel looked at Ball and asked with a sneer, "Then did they do it?"
"Yes, Mr. Colonel, they did it." Ball roughly understood the results of the battalion before being released. At this moment, he heard the German commander's inquiry and replied without hesitation: "In the battle two days ago, they annihilated an infantry division of the Russians, but their own losses were very few, with less than a hundred casualties."
"It's amazing to annihilate a Russian division with less than a hundred casualties." The colonel turned his head and looked at the lieutenant colonel next to him and said, "Are you right, Chief of Staff?"
"Yes, your lord commander, they are indeed amazing." The Chief of Staff replied respectfully: "He was able to achieve such great results with such small casualties."
"Corporal," perhaps because he heard that the troops in the north had achieved great results, the German colonel wanted to get a share of the pie, so he asked tentatively: "Does the troops there need to be reinforcements? I dare not say that there are too many, and there is no problem to send two battalions."
