Chapter 49 Rewards from the Headmaster
Hermione was right, they were dragged to the office by Professor McGonagall not long after they stayed in the common room.
"It's a miracle that you can come out alive." Professor McGonagall pushed his glasses, "and you found that entrance and violated nearly a hundred school rules by the way."
"But how did you come out alive for a few first- and second-year students?"
"Harry didn't solve the Philosopher's Stone incident last year, Professor." Louis was still a little exhausted, but at least he could speak standing and now.
"That's different, Wiggins." McGonagall frowned, "Last year was just a small fight between our teachers."
Louis spread his hands, and he did not intend to tell Professor McGonagall what happened in the secret room, after all, it involved his own secrets.
"Dumbledore, I think you have to explain this to me." Outside the office, there was a commotion, and the closed door was slowly opened, and Dumbledore accompanied a short and fat middle-aged man into it.
"I'm sorry, Connelly. I'm a little sensible about this, and it would be useless for you to take Hagrid to go, because it's not the secret room he opened."
"But three attacks have occurred in the school. "My Magic Minister, Connelly Fudge shook his large body. "If the Ministry of Magic does not take action, I, as the Minister, should step down."
"You can't take Hagrid away, it's obvious that you're catching innocent people, Minister." Professor McGonagall naturally heard their conversation, and her face felt a little embarrassed.
"Think about our work, Minerva." Faugi showed a helpless look, "The parents jointly wrote to the Ministry of Magic. They have been worried about the incident in the secret room these days. If the Ministry of Magic has not done anything..."
"Oh my God, these kids came out of the secret room?" Foggy's face was filled with shock, and he stared at Louis and the others incredibly.
"That's what I'm going to say, Connelly." Dumbledore walked to his desk and sat down, "the secret room incident has been completely resolved."
"Have you found out the murderer behind the scenes?" Fuji asked, he had not recovered yet.
"Tom Riddle, I think, now we can call him Voldemort." Dumbledore glanced down his eyes, and a terrible silent voice appeared when the three words Voldemort appeared.
"Oh my God, are you saying that all this is done by a mysterious man?" Fudge said in surprise. He could not have believed what Dumbledore said, "but he has been dead for many years."
"He will be back, Connelly, I have reminded you more than once."
"And, the secret room fifty years ago was opened by him, not Hagrid, he was wronged from the beginning."
"Yeah, I know, you've been saying it before..." Fuji's tone was perfunctory.
"But the little guy has great potential. Louis Wiggins, right? Albus mentioned you to me. If there are any difficulties in the future, just mention it to me." Fudge had some intention of winning over Louis. He could see that among this group, even the famous Harry Potter was headed by Louis.
"Albus, since it's okay, I'll leave. Don't worry, I won't take Hagrid away." Fudge waved at Dumbledore, and Professor McGonagall, who was beside him, hurriedly got up to see off the minister. The two left the office on foot, leaving Dumbledore and Louis to look at each other.
"I seem to remember that if you violate any school rules, I will fire you, Harry, of course, you are the same, Louis," Dumbledore said.
Harry and Louis were a little overwhelmed.
"That means that some of us must break our promise." Dumbledore smiled, "Well, I think the school's special contribution award should not be a problem, plus two percentage points each of you, of course, including Miss Greengrass."
Astoria was surprised. She herself didn't expect such a day.
"But Professor Dumbledore, I..."
"I won't favor one or the other. You have given Louis a lot of spiritual help."
Spiritual help? Louis's alpaca was rushing in his heart, and this old man was thinking about something messy.
"However, I really want to know what Tom Riddle uses to manipulate all this?" Dumbledore said in a gentle tone, not like the principal who was giving lectures to students.
"It's this diary, professor."
Louis threw the diary that had been roasted into gray carbon at his desk. Dumbledore picked up his wand and observed it carefully. Louis didn't know if Dumbledore could be sure that this was a Horcrux.
"I don't know that Voldemort still has the habit of keeping a diary." Dumbledore teased, "but he is indeed a relatively outstanding student. This diary should have very profound black magic."
Maybe it is the most evil black magic in the world.
"But how did you get it Miss Greengrass?" Dumbledore stared at Astoria for a moment.
"I don't know, professor." Astoria shook her head, "I always thought it was my diary because it looked exactly the same as the one I had before."
"I think I know Professor, about this, it may be related to Lucius Malfoy." Louis interrupted. He could not say that he would accidentally drop his diary when he collided with Astoria.
As he was speaking, suddenly the office door opened again. Louis saw Lucius Malfoy with a cane, followed by the poor house elf Dobby.
"It seems you're back." Lucius sneered, "I didn't expect you to be so shameless."
"I was about to say this, Lucius." Dumbledore shook the envelope in his hand, "the other eleven directors contacted me today. To be honest, they seemed to think I was the best person to solve this problem. They were also very strange to me. Several of them seemed to think that if they kept my post, you would curse their family."
Lucius's expression was distorted, and he said without changing his heart:
"It seems you've solved it and caught the murderer?"
"Yes, Lucius, it's the same as last time. I think you should know." Dumbledore stared at Lucius for a little while.
"Okay, then congratulations, let's go, Dobby." Malfoy sneered and beat the house elf Dobby out with his cane.
Looking at Lucius's figure as he was leaving, Louis winked at Harry. Harry knew it well and pointed to the diary and asked Dumbledore: "Can I take this diary away, professor?"
"Of course, my dear child."
After Harry thanked Dumbledore, he picked up his diary and ran to the door.
"There are you guys, I think I should go to the school hospital to see you. Mrs. Pomfrey has been urging me for a long time." Dumbledore pointed at Ginny and Astoria, but only Louis was missing. It seemed that he had something to negotiate with Louis alone.
