Chapter 20 Li Mi in White
In the evening, the rain stopped, Bai Fu set up a bonfire, dried clothes, barbecue potatoes, corn and other food.
The food was roasted, and the crazy monk smelled the fragrance and rushed over. Behind him was a young man who looked like a scholar. The crazy monk hugged beside the fire to keep warm, with a clear nose hanging on his cheek. The scholar did not sound and knelt beside him.
Bai Fu thought that although the crazy monk was sloppy and crazy, if he hadn't interrupted today, he would have fed the fish and shrimps in the river. Speaking of which, he had saved his life. So he did not drive away the crazy monk, and handed him a few roasted corn.
When the crazy monk saw that there was something to eat, he smiled and was not polite. After eating the sea stolen, he burped. After picking his teeth with branches, he picked up a few pieces of dry cow dung as firewood and roasted taro himself.
The scholar knelt beside the crazy monk with a peaceful expression. As if he had not seen him, the crazy monk took two roasted taro from the cow dung and opened his mouth to eat. He stopped eating for two bites, scolding the scholar for being uneasy and wanted to steal his stuff. While scolding and eating, he suddenly turned his face and handed the half of the taro he had eaten to the scholar.
Seeing this, Bai Fu felt sick in the stomach and intestines. However, the scholar continued respectfully, without caring about it, and ate it in a regular manner. The crazy monk saw that he had eaten the taro, clapped his hands and smiled, "Okay! OK! You don't have to say more, and don't follow me anymore. Look at you very sincerely, I promise you to be the prime minister of peace for ten years in the future! But I won't talk about your Taoism!"
Then, if no one was around, he spoke lotus flowers and said loudly:
When Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva practices the deep Prajna Paramita, he sees that the five aggregates are empty and overcomes all sufferings.
...
Because there is nothing to gain, Bodhisattvas rely on Prajna Paramita, their minds are free from worries and no worries, and they are free from inverted dreams and ultimately Nirvana.
...
The scholar heard the crazy monk chanting, and was as infatuated as he remembered it secretly.
After chanting three times, the mad monk said, "This mantra is a secret speech to Prajna, which cannot be understood, but recite it silently. The speed of the end of the exercise is to be lost and the inconceivable power. However, this Prajna, the speed of the end of the exercise is the light of the heart that everyone has, and all Buddhas have realized it, and they think it is a magical power. If you can suddenly realize the original existence, and then you will be able to reflect on it and practice it with one thought, the barrier of life and death will suddenly break: just like a thousand-year-old dark room, a lamp can be broken, and there is no other way to seek convenience. If we have the ambition to be born and die, we will have no boat or raft!"
When the scholar heard this, he realized it.
The crazy monk ignored the scholar and circled around Bai Fu for a few times, looked up and down, and frowned: "Ordinary people are Buddhas, troubles are Bodhi. The previous thought is confused is ordinary people, and the next thought is enlightenment is Buddha. The previous thought is attached to the realm is troubles, and the next thought is away from the realm is Bodhi."
Recite another verse:
"The meaning of enlightenment and enlightenment of the mind are like the sun and the void; only the method of seeing the nature can be passed down and broken through the evil sect.
There is no sudden graduality in the Dharma, and there is slowness and slowness in the enlightenment; only this is the gate of nature, which is not understood by fools.
...
Buddhism is in the world and is not separated from worldly awareness; seeking Bodhi is just like seeking the horns of rabbits.
Right view is called birth, evil view is the world; evil view is defeated by all evil and righteousness, and the Bodhi nature is like this.
This verse is a sudden teaching, also known as the Great Dharma Boat; if you are confused and hear the sutra for many disasters, you will be enlightened in an instant."
After reciting, patted his butt and floated away.
The scholar stopped following this time, knelt on the ground, looked at the back of the crazy monk, and kowtowed a few times.
When the crazy monk walked away, the scholar stood up, walked to Bai Fu, sat cross-legged, and asked Bai Fu for some roasted corn. Bai Fu saw that he was elegant in appearance and free and easy in his behavior, and felt good.
Bai Fu asked, "I see that officials are also well-read people, so why are they so respectful to this crazy monk?" The scholar smiled and said, "Hello, I am in the Chang'an Li Mi. He has been fond of Buddhism and old since he was a child and does not like fame. He often seeks immortals and asks the way between famous mountains such as Songshan, Huashan, Zhongnan, Emei, etc., hoping to obtain immortality and immortality.
Half a year ago, I visited Lingyun Temple in Jiazhou and admired the Great Maitreya Stone Statue being built by Lingyun Temple.
This large Maitreya stone statue has a very good origin. Jiazhou has been the convergence of the three rivers since ancient times. The Minjiang River, Qingyi River and Dadu River converge to the foot of Lingyun Mountain. The water is quite fierce, and the boats are often overturned. Whenever the summer floods, the river water hits the mountain walls, which often leads to the tragedy of ships being destroyed and people being killed.
In the early years of Kaiyuan, Zen Master Haitong of Lingyun Temple initiated the construction of a stone statue of the Great Maitreya in order to reduce the water killing and save all living beings. The Buddhist scriptures say that Maitreya will be "peace in the world" and Maitreya Buddha is a future Buddha that can bring light and happiness. The people of Jiazhou believe that after the construction of this Zhenjiang Buddha that calms the floods will definitely bring people on the boat to overcome the rapids and dangerous shoals.
Zen Master Haitong recruited manpower and material resources to cultivate the chisel. When the Great Maitreya stone statue was cultivated to the shoulder, Zen Master Haitong passed away. After Zen Master Haitong passed away, the project was interrupted. Many years later, Zhang Qiu Jianqiong, the governor of Xichuan in Jiannan, donated his salary. Zen Master Haitong's disciple led the craftsmen to continue to build the Buddha. Due to the huge project, the court ordered the tax on hemp and salt, which made the project progress rapidly. Now, although the Great Maitreya stone statue has not been completed, it has become the largest Buddha statue in the world, which is extremely shocking!
That night, I slept in Lingyun Temple. I heard a monk chanting scriptures, his voice was sad and gentle, and his scriptures were merciful and sounded like a world-renowned person. I knew that the monk must be a good person who was a good person. After inquiring, I realized that this monk was not a great monk in the temple, but an old monk who chopped wood and carried water for hard work. Everyone didn't know what his name was. This monk usually packed up the leftovers that everyone had eaten to fill his hunger. When he was full, he stretched his waist and found a corner to sleep, so everyone called him Lazy Monk.
But ordinary people knew that the Buddha was by my side. But I was overjoyed. "Maitreya is truly Maitreya, transformed into hundreds of billions of times, and shows that it is always revealed to the world, but people do not know it." The Zen master's actions must have a deep meaning. So I didn't say it out loud, but I often secretly went to him alone in the late winter night. The Zen master never paid attention to me, just pretending that he was not as a person, eating and sleeping as usual. I didn't dare to disturb the Zen master's practice, but just served him. Two nights ago, the Zen master drew water from a well, looking at the water of the well, and suddenly became stunned. Then he threw down his plan and turned around and left. I knew something had happened, so I hurriedly followed the Zen master down the mountain. It was nothing unusual along the way. Until today, the Zen master fell into the river and was rescued by you."
Bai Fu was so embarrassed that he knew that the scholar had caught him today.
The scholar did not reveal it, and took a bite of the corn, and then said, "Do you believe it? I served the Zen master for several months. Today, he was the first time he talked to me. Speaking of it, he would just ask you for your fate." After saying that, he turned his head to observe Bai Fu, but did not speak for a while.
After eating the corn, Li Mi stood up, tidied up his clothes, bowed to Bai Fu, and said, "Thank you guys for your delicious food. I will see you and I will see you next day. Let's leave today!" Bai Fu quickly stood up and returned the gift.
Li Mi took two steps, turned back, stared at Bai Fu, his eyes were as sharp as a torch, and said seriously: "The Zen master's six supernatural powers are all exquisite, and he can see through time and space. Today, he will definitely have a deep meaning to save you. I hope your friends will do it." After that, his white clothes fluttered and he left.
Bai Fu was stunned on the spot and thought to himself what day it was today. He met two madmen. It would be fine if that crazy monk, but this scholar was so handsome that he lost his heart. Master often said that practicing the supreme internal skills is the most dangerous. If you don’t have a teacher to practice yourself, you will often become possessed by evil spirits. Li Mi may be very talented, but the famous master inherits the tradition, claims to be intelligent, and practices the way of heaven by himself, which is probably true to what Master said.
Thinking of Master, Bai Fu was secretly sad. He stared at the bonfire and fell asleep for a long time.
The next day, as soon as the sun came out, the blue sky was as clear as the sky. The rivers on both sides were surging, the rocks penetrated the sky, the waves slammed the shore, and thousands of snow were rolled up. The country was like a painting, and there were so many heroes at the moment.
Bai Fu stood proudly on the huge rocks on the mudflat, looking at the huge waves, and his heart was full of heroism: "It is difficult to walk, it is difficult to walk, and there are many roads. Where are you now? There will be times when the wind and waves will be broken, and the clouds sails will spread across the vast sea!"
