Chapter 517: Eight Laws of Eternal Characters
`
The lights are on the third day and the chickens are on the fifth day, which is when men are studying.
My black hair doesn’t know how to study early, but I regret studying late after I’m old.
——"Encouraging Learning" Yan Zhenqing
...
Yan Zhenqing said: "In the second year of Tianbao, I once asked Zhang Changshi for advice, but Zhang Changshi politely declined, saying: "The brushwork is mysterious and difficult to impart indiscriminately. I am not a master of patriots, but I can only talk about it with great ideas."
I didn't give up and copied the calligraphy of Chu Suiliang and Zhang Xu, and explored it day and night, and practiced the writing style hard.
In the fifth year of Tianbao, when Zhang Changshi asked me about the style of the twelve strokes at Pei Jing's house, I learned what I learned and answered them in a smooth manner. Zhang Changshi nodded frequently and agreed deeply, and finally passed on my brushwork."
Speaking of this, Yan Zhenqing took the "Preface to Lanting" written by Bai Fu, and looked at the first sentence of the article "The Ninth Year of Yonghe" and said:
"Li Yangbing, the clan uncle of Li Taibai, said: "In the past, Wang Yi Shao was good at writing for fifteen years and instead attacked the eight methods of the word "Yong". With the power of the eight methods, he could understand everything."
Today we will take the word "Yong" as an example, and use the eight strokes of this character "dot, horizontal, vertical, hook, lift, long, short, and stroke" to pass on you eight strokes of "side, leap, crossbow, storm, strategist, pluck, peck, and craft" to "eight strokes of brushwork."
After saying that, Yan Zhenqing took the pen and dipped it in ink, explaining it one by one:
"The dot is the side. The side means that the side is inclined and incorrect. The dot should take a tilt momentum, such as a huge rock standing on the side, dangerous and strong. If the dot is lying flat or upright, it will lose its power. The dot of the word "Yong" is closed with the exposed tip, which corresponds to the horizontal stroke below.
The horizontal stroke is to pull the upper and lower sides. If the rider tightly pulls the reins of the horse, the force is straight inward and straight to the vertical. If the pen is lying horizontally or slanted down, it will be tired and weak. If the pen is reversed, it will fall back and forth quickly, keep the reverse in and out, and there is a trend of retraction. It is not advisable to slide along the edge to avoid light floating and stagnation.
Vertical is a crossbow. Vertical strokes should not be too straight. They should be consistent with the overall situation of the font and see straight in the curve, so that they can advance. Being too straight is like a dead tree standing on the ground, even if it is straight, the wood is stiff and weak. You should see curved momentum in the straight, and the pen tip is like pulling a bow and shooting an arrow. Although the shape is curved, the quality contains infinite power.
The hook is a gaze. First, stop the tip and accumulate momentum, gather the force at the tip of the pen, then quickly lift the pen, then twist the tip, and follow the trend to move the tip.
The horizontal stroke is a strategy. The choice of paintings is mostly used on the left side of the character, and its momentum is slanted to the upper right, which corresponds to the dots and strokes on the right, forming a situation of bowing and bowing against each other. The strategy of Yong's character is slightly flat, mainly in response to the horizontal strokes on the right. Although the two strokes are staggered and disproportionate, their hearts are connected and qi. The momentum is slightly upward, and the force is used to start the stroke, and the force is used to close the tip.
The long stroke is a sweep. The stroke starts with the same straight stroke, and the tip is slightly fat, so the force should be sent to it. Writing the sweep painting should be like brushing the surface of an object with your hands. Although the strokes are gradually accelerated, the tip is light and quick, so as to take its chic and neat posture, but the force should be sent to the end, otherwise it will float and lose power.
Short strokes are pecking. When writing horizontal strokes, the stroke should be fast and the stroke should be sharp. When the stroke is placed on the left, sharp and slanted, the light, quick and vigorous are the best.
The strokes of the strokes are scattered. The strokes in regular script are divided into scattered scripts and come from scattered scripts. The strokes of the strokes of the strokes of the regular script are clustered inward but are scattered outward, so that the fonts are comfortable and open. When writing, the tip should fall lightly, and the tip should be folded outward, and the tip should be laid slowly and gradually heavier. At the end, the tip should be slightly raised and closed. The tip should be calm and powerful, with the emphasis on subtlety, twists and turns, and the momentum should be natural."
...
After Yan Zhenqing finished speaking, he saw Bai Fu in a daze and smiled and said, "Young Master Bai, but how could I not explain it in detail enough?"
Bai Fu smiled apologized and said, "I'd like to forgive me. The trouble just now has nothing to do with me. It's the boy who is entangled and can't extricate himself from the fog.
You are talking about brushwork, but what I see in my eyes is all about swordsmanship.”
"Oh?" Yan Zhenqing became interested when she heard this and said, "Can Young Master Bai demonstrate one or two?"
Bai Fu nodded, walked out of the study room, came to the open space in the courtyard, unsheathed the sword, and demonstrated the eight methods of the word "Yong" one by one with sword moves.
The point is the side.
Bai Fu's sword tip lightly, the sword's edge falls sharply, spreads out and moves. When his momentum is closed, his body rotates rapidly, like an eagle and falcon, turning and falling down.
The horizontal line is tilted.
Bai Fu penetrated his sword body, slashed horizontally, and cut out diagonally. He was about to slide across the edge, and Bai Fu tightly tied the hilt of the sword, like a horse, using the reins. The sword force was not exhausted, and he would slow down and go back and forth, and he would be retracted. If the opponent's weapon blocked, he would be lost.
Vertical is a crossbow.
Bai Fu stood forward and back with his feet, his body was like a bent bow, holding a sword in both hands, and chopped out from top to bottom. He slashed out with one sword, like a crossbow, and shot vigorously. The sword was like a long rainbow, drawing a perfect arc, slashing Mount Hua with great force.
Hook for gaze.
Bai Fu bent his knees slightly, and first squat to accumulate strength, so that the force can be concentrated on both knees. The force was not on his feet at first, but suddenly it was caused. The full force was then put on his toes and suddenly jumped up. The man and sword were united, and the whole body's strength poured out from his arms and wrists. Wu hook picked it and showed his sword with a sharp momentum, like a crescent moon in the sky.
Refer to the horizontal as a strategy.
Bai Fu lifted the long sword, and waved the sword like a whip, using force to the hilt of the sword, and its strength was at the tip of the sword, and its strength was condensed at one point, and the tip of the sword made a sound like a sonic boom. Cutting the sword back and raising it, like riding a whip on a horse, and it was about to get up as soon as it was held.
Long strokes are plunders.
Bai Fu held the sword, as if holding a comb in his hand, like a comb's hair, and went down from the upper right to the lower left. With the power of falling, the sword gradually accelerated. When the sword speed reached its peak, the sword shadow flashed, like a flying swallow passing under the eaves.
The sword moves like a rabbit, moving and floating, and rushing in the air. Although Yan Zhenqing was three feet away, he was shocked and sweated coldly, and then cheered loudly.
Short strokes are pecks.
Bai Fu rose into the air, kicked out with his legs in succession, jumped into the air and changed steps, and stabbed down like a crossbow arrow, instantly stabbed dozens of swords. The sword edge was sharp and powerful, like a bird pecking at objects. It was Li Xuexuan's first sword move when discussing swords in Shushan - Emei Seven.
The strokes are made of styling.
Bai Fuyun's sword is like a knife, and his pen is like a knife. The sword energy is located, and it is strong and sharp, and its momentum is powerful. The rockery that is more than one person in front of him is like a cow of a cook Ding, was instantly dismembered by the sword energy and shattered all over the ground. It is Dugu's Hurricane Demon's soul-killing death.
...
Bai Fu's peerless swordsmanship made Yan Zhenqing amazed.
Yan Zhenqing had a long beard with his hands and smiled and said, "Teaching to learn from each other, I am also very eye-opening today. The swordsman Bai is the best in the world, just like the sword saint Pei Min possessed him."
Bai Fu hurriedly bowed and gave in a humble way, saying, "The first few sword techniques did evolve from the sword techniques that Lord Pei taught me. Unfortunately, I was stupid and only learned seven styles, but I failed to learn all the nine sword techniques of Lord Pei."
Yan Zhenqing had a long beard with his hands and said with a smile: "Young Master Bai doesn't have to be modest. General Pei is familiar with me. He has the most successors in his life, and even if the prince is studying swordsmanship, it is not the case.
The exiled immortal Li Bai was skilled in swordsmanship and had a very high understanding. Pei Min also passed on his five-style sword technique. The seven-style is the limit of his successor's sword technique. In this world, I'm afraid you are the only one who learns it.
He was not stingy when he only passed on the seventh style. The eighth, the nineth style sword technique was created by Pei Min based on his own cultivation and could not be passed on to others, so he could only perform it himself.
When the swordsman practices General Pei’s first seven sword techniques to perfection, by chance, he will naturally get it by chance and create his own eighth and nine sword techniques.
This is exactly the same as Zhang Changshi's words that "the brushwork is mysterious and difficult to impart, and he is not a master of patriots, but he can only be as good as the words."
After pausing for a moment, Yan Zhenqing smiled and said, "If you can combine General Pei's sword technique and breath mobilization with calligraphy, send the power of the Dantian to the end of the pen, and experience the use of fingering and brushwork. Based on this method, you can make calligraphy achieve twice the result with half the effort.
After you understand the eight methods of Yong, you can further copy the calligraphy and calligraphy of famous masters of all dynasties, and then completely forget the eight methods of Yong, think of emotions when you see things, and act according to your will, then you can travel around in calligraphy and ink."
