Chapter 1,491 Hope is the most beautiful thing(1/2)

In fact, by this time, the movie is coming to an end.

However, this turn of events did make many people sit up straight.

On the big screen, the camera began to turn back to the day when Andy first got the stone hammer to carve words on the wall.

Rhett's voice spoke slowly.

"Andy loved geology, which I can imagine was down to his meticulous nature!"

In the picture, Andy was carving the structure of words but he pulled down a stone. He picked it up, thoughtfully.

At this moment, the audience realized that Andy did not originally want to dig a tunnel to freedom.

Andy sat on the edge of the bed, holding the stone that fell from the wall, and began his nineteen-year journey of exploring freedom.

Behind the poster, he began to dig with a small stone hammer.

"Like I said, in prison, you have to find something to do if you have nothing to do!" Rhett's voice continued.

His narration was very humorous: "It seems that Andy's hobby is to move his walls to the exhibition area!"

In the picture, Andy is walking in the wind field with a faint smile on his face. He shakes his trousers, and the small rocks, soil, etc. he dug out fall out of his trousers.

"Every time, I guess after Tommy was killed, Andy decided not to stay much longer!"

The scene changed again, and Andy was in the office of the prison warden Norton. Norton was leaving that day. When Andy opened the safe, he replaced a document and a notebook with his.

This Bible!

"Andy did as he was told! He polished his shoes until they sparkled!"

Andy wore the warden's leather shoes, but no one noticed, including Red.

Because no one would pay attention to whether a person is wearing his or her own shoes.

Then that night, after the lights were turned off, Andy took action. He followed the tunnel he had dug for nineteen years and climbed out of Shawshank Prison.

The function of that rope surprised many people. It was actually used by him to tie the things he brought out of prison.

However, this is not all. Even the lightning, thunder, and violent storm that day were all part of Andy's plan. After he climbed out of Shawshank's cell, he still needed to smash open the pipes, and the sound of smashing the pipes would make the prison guards

I heard, so he took advantage of the thunder and smashed it!

He crawled into that sewer pipe, that unimaginably smelly sewer pipe, and crawled five hundred meters toward freedom!

He even couldn't help but vomit while crawling.

He finally climbed out of the dirty sewer pipe and escaped from Shawshank Prison.

He took off his dirty clothes, raised his head, breathed the free air, and had a smile on his face.

He opened his hands to embrace freedom, letting the rain beat randomly on his body.

The next morning, Norton discovered Andy's secret of escaping from prison, but at this time, a man who had never appeared before appeared at the bank.

This person did not exist before that!

Everyone understood that this was what Andy said before, the "person" he created by using loopholes!

He has all kinds of documents, including his birth certificate, driver's license, social security card, and even his signature!

Then he withdrew part of the money he had earned for the warden earlier and asked someone from the bank to send a package for him.

He went to twelve banks that day and his new name was Stevens.

He took a total of $370,000 from Norton as compensation for these nineteen years.

And that package contained evidence of Norton's various crimes in Shawshank Prison over the years.

Norton saw the report in the newspaper and turned to look behind him. It was a sentence from the Bible: "The judgment of the Lord will come quickly!"

The siren of the police car blared outside, and Norton opened his safe, only to find that what was inside was not his account book, but a Bible.

On the title page of the Bible, there is a message from Andy to Norton: "Dear Warden, you are right, the way to salvation lies in it!"

He opened it again and finally understood what Andy meant. It turned out that Andy had always placed the stone hammer in the hollowed-out Bible.

This also perfectly explains why they failed to find the stone hammer every time they were raided.

Because this is Shawshank Prison, and the first rule here is, no blasphemy!

Therefore, even though Norton once held that Bible in his hand, he gave it back to Andy!

Guard Captain Hadley was taken away, and the prison warden Norton chose to commit suicide by swallowing a gun.

With the death of the warden and the arrest of Hadley, redemption came to Shawshank Prison. Red received a postcard, which was blank but had a postmark.

It's Fort Hancock in the border area.

Rhett knew that was where Andy left the country.

Rhett couldn't help laughing when he imagined Andy driving around in the car and breathing the free air.

"Andy Dufresne, he crawled through a pipe full of sewage, washed away his sins, was reborn on the other side, and headed towards the Pacific Ocean!"

Red and the other inmates in the prison often talk about Andy!

Talking about the first time Andy bought them a beer, talking about the library in the prison...

He became a legend in Shawshank Prison!

Rhett continued: "I'm actually very sad. Although Andy is gone, I have to remind myself that some birds cannot be kept in a cage. Their wings are too dazzling. When they fly away, you

I know very well that locking them up is a sin, but unfortunately, their departure leaves the place where you live empty. I think I just miss my friends!"

After forty years in prison, Rhett once again came to the parole hearing!

What was different from the previous times was that when he was asked whether he had changed his ways, this time he was not so humble.

This chapter is not over, please click on the next page to continue reading! Instead, he asked: "Reform? Let me think about it, I don't understand what that means!"

"Are you just not ready to return to society?" the young hearing officer said.

Rhett interrupted him and said: "I understand what you are saying, young man. To me, that is a function word, a word invented by politicians so that young people like you in suits and ties can have a job."

, what exactly do you want to know?”

He has been in prison for twenty years, thirty years, maybe ten years? There will be a parole hearing. Every time he is asked this question, he answers it very humbly, but the result is always rejected.

.

This time, everyone saw that Rhett had changed, maybe because of Old Boo or because of Andy, anyway, he had changed this time.

He asked his question, what do you want to know?

"Do I regret the sins I have committed?"

"Do you regret it?"

"Not a day goes by that I don't regret it, not because I'm in jail, not because you think I should regret it, but when I look back at the past, that young, stupid kid who committed a felony, I want to talk to him, I want to talk to him

He talks about the principles of life and tells him right and wrong, good and evil, but I can't, because the child has long since disappeared, leaving only an old man alone. I must accept the reality! As for reforming? It's all nonsense, you continue.

Stamp the form, young man, don't waste my time, to be honest with you, I don't care!" Rhett looked extremely calm.

But in the end, his parole was approved this time!

He put on his suit, hat, and suitcase, and walked out of Shawshank Prison. He raised his head and looked around.

Sitting on the bus, looking out the window.

Just like Boo before, the parole board arranged a place for him to live. What a coincidence, that place was exactly where Boo was assigned back then.

He also saw the words "Brooks was here for a visit" engraved on the house!

He was also assigned to work in a supermarket. He asked the supermarket manager if he could go to the bathroom.

But the supermarket manager said to him: "You don't have to ask me every time! Go ahead!"

"You have to report when you go to the toilet. I have been reporting for forty years. If I don't report, I won't be able to urinate even a drop. The reality is very difficult to face. I can't live here at all!"

He was even thinking about violating parole regulations and going back to jail, just like Lao Bu.

"The scary thing is living in fear. Lao Bu has experienced it. He understands it too thoroughly. I just want to go back to a place that is meaningful to me, a place where I can no longer worry about being afraid. Only

One thing stopped me, the promise I made to Andy!"

Rhett took a car and came to the place where Andy had mentioned. He found the tree and the strange stone that Andy had mentioned.

He dug out what Andy left for him, which was a box with a ship printed on it.

He looked around subconsciously and alertly, then opened the box, which contained cash and a letter.

The letter was written to him by Andy.

"Dear Rhett: If you can read this letter, you must have come out. If you have walked so far, maybe you can go a little further. Do you still remember the name of that town?

?I need a good person to work with me, and I look forward to your arrival. The chessboard is set. Remember, Rhett, hope is a beautiful thing, perhaps the most beautiful thing in the world, and beautiful things never

Disappear, I hope you can find this letter, I hope you are well, your friend - Andy!"

Rhett returned to his residence, took out his knife and carved "Red was here too" next to Brooks's words.

"Either get busy living or get busy dying! That's absolutely true!"
