Chapter 40: Black Infiltrated
Section 1
After the Halloween dinner, Sauron had just returned to the Slytherin's lounge. After only about ten minutes, Ibicos hurriedly walked in.
"All students gather in the auditorium lobby and go immediately." Ibikos announced loudly, "There is an emergency."
The Slytherins were a little surprised, but most of them did calmly, and while walking, they were discussing in a low voice about what was going on.
"What's wrong, Ibikos?" Sauron asked in a low voice, "It seems that something big happened."
"Someone has sneaked into the school." Ibikos lowered his voice, looking at Soren, "It's Black."
Soren's eyes narrowed suddenly, which was really beyond his expectations. There was a magic barrier on the periphery of Hogwarts and dementors guarding each entrance. In this case, Black was still able to sneak into the school, which really surprised Soren.
"What did he do?" Sauron asked as he walked, "or was it just discovered."
"He destroyed the portrait at the entrance of the Gryffindor Tower. According to Pipig, he tried to enter the tower, but the portrait refused, so he took action." Ibicos hesitated for a moment, "You said, would he be for Harry?"
"I don't know." Sauron shook his head, "I can only confirm that his target is in the Gryffindor Tower. Don't walk around casually. After staying in Azkaban for so long, it is very likely that his consciousness is no longer clear. I'm not sure if he will attack you."
Soon, the Slytherins arrived at the auditorium lobby. The students of Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw had arrived, and many of the students looked confused. Dumbledore and several other professors were there, looking serious.
"The teachers and I will conduct a thorough search of the castle," Professor Dumbledore told the students, at which time Professor McGonagall and Frieve closed all the doors of the auditorium. "For your own safety, I think you may have to stay here overnight. I ask the chiefs to stand guard at the entrance of the auditorium, and the presidents of the boys and girls student union stay in the auditorium to manage it. Report anything to me immediately," he added to Percy, who looked like a pride of an important person, "find a ghost to tell me."
Professor Dumbledore paused for a moment and was about to leave the auditorium, and said, "Oh, by the way, you will need it..." He waved his wand casually, and the long table flew to the edge of the auditorium and stood against the wall; and waved it again, and the ground was covered with hundreds of purple sleeping bags. "Sleep well." Professor Dumbledore said that he closed the door when he went out. An excited buzzing voice immediately sounded: The students of Gryffindor College were busy telling other students what had just happened.
"Everyone is in the sleeping bag!" Percy shouted, "Come on, no one can talk! Turn off the lights in ten minutes!"
The Slytherins were all very disciplined, gathering in the left part of the hall, not running around.
Sauron saw Harry and the other two and waved his hand at them, but did not fall in love with them.
"You go to bed," Sauron said to Draco and Isabella, "I'm going to find Dumbledore."
Draco glanced at Isabella and shrugged. The two of them dragged their sleeping bags to sleep, while Sauron left with Ibikos.
Soren found Dumbledore outside the side door of the hall. He was with the deans of four colleges. When he saw Soren, Dumbledore just smiled, while Snape frowned.
"Oh, Mr. Porter, as a student, you should go back to the hall right away." Snape dragged his long mouth and looked at Sauron coldly, "This is not the time you hang out."
"I don't think so." Sauron glared at Snape fiercely, and then said to Dumbledore, "I think I can still help."
"Well, I think so." Dumbledore smiled, stopping Professor McGonagall who had to say something else, "Then maybe Mr. Porter can go searching the tower with me."
"Hmph." Snape snorted coldly and turned away. Sauron looked at his back coldly and smiled maliciously.
The professors acted separately and thoroughly searched the entire castle. Soren and Dumbledore went to the two towers on the north side of the castle.
"I don't know if it's appropriate to say that," Dumbledore hesitated, "in fact, Severus has lived in guilt and pain over the years."
"I don't think so." Sauron looked at Dumbledore with a blank expression, "Even if he was really in pain, he deserved it."
Dumbledore smiled helplessly and said nothing.
"My parents died of betrayal," Sauron said coldly, "I have any reason not to hate him, as I once said, I will kill him sooner or later."
"What about Black," Dumbledore asked suddenly, "you will kill him too?"
Sauron turned his head and stared at Dumbledore, guessing his true intentions. After a long time, he asked slowly, "What do you think?" After that, Sauron turned into a black mist and dissipated into the air.
Dumbledore looked at the direction where Sauron left, sighed, and then disappeared from the spot.
The search lasted for several hours, and the entire castle was completely flipped, but no trace of Black was found. Apparently, he either left the school or lurked in the Forbidden Forest. Soren and Dumbledore returned to the hall, Snape was patrolling with him, and Pasi, Ibicos and several other predecessors were talking to him something.
"Principal," Snape whispered, "the entire fourth floor has been checked, he is not there. Felch checked the main building of the castle, and there is no one there."
"Where is the astronomical tower? Professor Trelawney's room? Where does the owl live and haunt?" Dumbledore asked.
"All checked... there is no sign that Black had stayed there."
"Very good, Severus," Dumbledore glanced at Sauron, "I didn't really think Black would stay."
"How did he come in? Do you have any insights on this, Principal?" Snape asked.
"Many, Severus, each one is as impossible as the one below."
"You remember our conversation, Principal, right before the semester begins?" Snape said, his lips barely opening when he spoke, as if he didn't want Percy to participate in their conversation.
"Remember, Severus," Dumbledore said, with a warning-like meaning in his voice.
"It seems—almost impossible—Blake can't get into this school without internal help. I did express my concern, in your appointment—"
"That's true, isn't it?" Sauron sneered, "If Black were loyal to Voldemort, maybe some people would be very happy to help him, right?"
Snape stared at Sauron fiercely, his eyes narrowed, his cold voice exuding anger, "So, are you suggesting something, Mr. Potter."
"I think I've said it clearly enough," Soren and Snape looked at each other, "maybe you want me to speak more bluntly..."
"I don't believe that anyone in this castle would help Black come in." Dumbledore said seriously, interrupting the two full of gunpowder, his tone clearly stated that the matter ended here, so Snape and Sauron were silent. "I have to go to the dementors," Dumbledore said. "I said we will inform them after we search."
"Are they going to help, sir?" said Snape.
"Oh, yes," Dumbledore said coldly, "but I'm afraid that as long as I serve as principal for one day, they will never be allowed to cross the threshold of the school."
Dumbledore turned and left, Sauron and Snape watched him walk away, and then Snape looked at Sauron coldly and turned away.
"Hmph." Sauron sneered, then walked towards the Slytherins' rest.
In the following days, everyone in the school talked about Black. The statement about how he entered the castle became more and more mysterious, but most of them were irrelevant.
Lupin is sick, and now Snape is substituted for the Black Magic Defense Arts class. From a certain perspective, Snape's wishes for many years have come true. In his class, Snape skipped the current progress and began to explain the content about werewolf very persistently. This made most students complain. Soren just sneered. It seemed that Snape was very wary of Lupin.
But soon, the students' attention was diverted, and the Academy Cup Quidditch game was about to arrive. The first game of the year took place between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff, and Harry was busy training all day long.
Originally, because Black sneaked into the castle, Professor McGonagall strictly prohibited Harry from training at Quidditch Stadium, which made Harry very upset. In desperation, Harry went to Dumbledore. In the end, the old professor gave the reply that Harry could go to training, but as a security guarantee, Sauron had to accompany him.
In the evening at Quidditch Stadium, the dim sunlight shone from the horizon, pulling the shadows of people long. Sauron sat in the stands beside the court, watching Harry and the other Gryffindors performing confrontation practices. Harry flew very well, controlling his broom tossing through the air, avoiding the roaming ball, and chasing the golden thief with an experienced chasing.
Isabella sat next to Sauron. She saw that Sauron's face was slightly slight and melancholy, and asked in a low voice: "Do you have any worries, Your Highness?"
Sauron didn't look back, he took a deep breath and narrowed his eyes.
"Maybe, he was like this back then. In the sunset, he rode a broom with his friends and chased the golden thief." Sauron looked at Harry and whispered, "Maybe he never thought he would die of his friend's betrayal."
Isabella bit her lip and wanted to say something, but she didn't open her mouth after all.
The court was getting darker and darker, and the dim sunset in the distance had already sunk below the horizon. Harry and the others stopped training and all landed. Sauron also stood up and walked downstairs with Isabella.
"Flying great, Harry." Sauron patted Harry on the shoulder, "You must have looked hungry."
"Yes, I think I can eat a cow." Harry was very happy with a smile. He performed very well today and could quickly catch the golden thief every time.
"Thank you, Sauron." Wood said enthusiastically, he was the captain of the Gryffindor team. "Thanks to you, otherwise Harry would not be able to train. You must know that this will greatly affect our cooperation and performance."
"Haha, you're so polite..." Sauron didn't finish his words, and suddenly he turned his head, narrowed his eyes and looked towards the edge of the court, which was the direction of the Forbidden Forest.
"What's wrong?" Harry asked uneasily, Sauron's performance made several people nervous, "Is there something going on?"
