Chapter fifty-fifth intertwined conspiracy

Section 1

When Harry woke up, he found himself lying in the ward of the school hospital, Hermione lying on the bed beside him. He learned from Mrs. Pomfrey that Sirius had been caught and could be executed by the dementor at any time.

"Secretary, listen!" Harry hurriedly found Fauge and said excitedly: "Blake is innocent! Petty Peter pretended to be his own death! We see him tonight! You can't let the dementor do that to Black, he is..."

But Faugi shook his head and a little smile on his face.

"Harry, Harry, you're in a mess. You just experienced a terrible disaster. Go back. Now everything is ready..."

"No!" Harry shouted, "You have caught the wrong person!"

"Minister, please listen to us." Hermione said, as she was already standing beside Harry, looking at Fudge's face with an inquiring gaze. "I saw him too. That was Ron's rat, he was Animagus, Petr, I mean, and…"

"Oh, good girl." Fudge said gently, "I'm sorry, it seems that the dementors have had a very bad effect on you..."

"We're not dizzy." Harry said stubbornly, and he turned to Snape, "Professor, have you seen it too? Black is protecting us, he is not a suspect. He is innocent."

Snape's black eyes stared at Harry, as if he was thinking quickly. Harry never thought that he would ask Snape for help one day. He always thought that he hated Snape and would continue to hate it. But just now, facing the werewolf, Snape's behavior surprised and moved Harry. He urgently hoped that Snape could tell the truth and clear Sirius's innocence.

"Sorry, I didn't see it." Snape said coldly, breaking all the expectations and fantasies in Harry's heart.

For a moment, no one spoke. Harry and Hermione looked at Snape in disbelief, and Snape's face was very indifferent, and he looked at Fudge calmly, as if waiting for him to make a judgment.

"Oh, Fudge, Severus, you are here." A familiar voice came, Dumbledore, "Harry and Hermione are here, are you getting better?"

"We're fine, but Sirius..." Harry said anxiously, and Dumbledore waved his hand and interrupted him.

"Sorry, Fudge," Dumbledore said softly, "I want to chat with Harry and Hermione for a while, and I'll go find you again, okay?"

"Of course, Albus." Fudge said with a smile, "You can find me in the hall later."

Dumbledore nodded, then led Harry and Hermione back to the ward...

Harry and Hermione eagerly explained to Dumbledore everything they had experienced. Sirius was innocent and Peter was the betrayer. Dumbledore believed their words, but Peter ran away. Without evidence, the Ministry of Magic would not believe it, and even Dumbledore could not change it.

However, Dumbledore's suggestion, they used Hermione's time converter and went back three hours ago to save Black.

They went to Hagrid's cabin and secretly released Buckbeck. After that, Harry and Hermione followed them three hours ago to the vicinity of the Beat Willow, watching Black drag Ron into the tree hole.

The dusk became thicker and darker, and after they watched Dumbledore and Fudge return to the castle carefully, it was completely dark. Harry and Hermione hid in the bushes, observing the willows through the gaps between the branches and leaves. For a few minutes, there was no one around. Then—

"Lupin is here!" Harry said, and at this time they saw another figure jumping off the stone steps and walking towards the willow. Harry looked up at the sky, and the clouds completely covered the moon.

Luhu picked up a broken branch from the ground and poked the knot on the trunk. The tree stopped and Lupin disappeared into the hole in the roots.

"By the way, our invisibility cloak." Harry suddenly remembered something, "I've landed it there, look, right next to the tree."

"Don't worry about it, we can get it later." Hermione said, "Look, who is that?"

Suddenly, a figure emerged from the air, with his back facing them, unable to see who it was. The man took out his magic wand, seemed to be casting some kind of spell, and then suddenly disappeared.

"It's him, he can't get out of that barrier." Harry said in a low voice, "Snape is probably knocked out by him."

"Don't make a sound." Hermione pulled him, and she pointed to the direction of the castle. The castle door opened again. Snape went out and ran towards the willow. Snape stopped his footsteps by the tree, looked around, grabbed the invisible cloak, and raised it. Then he picked up the branch Lupin used, poked the scar, put on the invisible cloak, and disappeared.

"So that's it," Hermione said calmly, "we're all down there... Now we can only wait and wait until we come up..."

Harry and Hermione picked up the end of the rope at Buckbeck, tied the rope firmly to a nearest tree, then sat on the dry ground, hugging their knees, and quietly waiting...

Section 2

The moment Snape crossed the barrier, Sauron realized that he turned into mist and quietly disappeared in the darkness. On the second floor above him, Lupin and Black were explaining the relationship between Black and Peter to Harry and others. Soon, footsteps came from the dark corridor. After a while, Snape walked out of the tunnel with Harry's stealth fight.

Snape heard the voices upstairs and his face turned pale. He hurriedly took out his wand and walked towards the stairs without any sense of Soren in the darkness.

A red light hit Snape's back accurately, and he flew up and fell into a decayed table and chair, fainting.

"What sound?" Lupin's voice came from the upper floor.

Sauron took a look at Snape, who was unconscious, turned into black mist, and followed the stairs to the second floor. Snape's arrival was not within Sauron's plan, but now he fainted in a piece of rotten furniture and would not have any impact.

The little dwarf Peter had become a human being. He shivered to the ground. Facing the murderous intent of Black and Lupin, he was frightened and begging humbly and helplessly. Looking at this scene, a faint excitement arose in Sauron's heart. The more terrified Peter was and the more helpless Peter was, the greater the possibility of his plan succeeding.

Peter was begging Harry, but was pushed to the ground by Lupin and Black. An accident happened. The pendant fell out of Peter's pocket. Seeing Lupin taking the pendant, Sauron suddenly became nervous and thought gloomyly. Fortunately, Lupin returned the pendant to Harry.

Without warning, the chain of the pendant was broken and Harry couldn't hang it around his neck, so he had to put it in his pocket.

"Peak can't die, if he dies, Black can't escape the crime... He should be locked in Azkaban and stay with the dementors... In that terrible place, torture is what he deserves... He will be punished, not dead..." Sauron looked at Harry and whispered silently.

Black and Lupin raised their wands, and the Petdwarf was almost desperate. At this moment, Harry stood up, convinced the two of them, and left Peter's life.

"You should be very grateful that I am not Sauron." Harry said to Peter coldly.

Sauron was slightly surprised when he heard this, and looked at Harry in surprise for a while, and found that he had not really noticed anything, so he felt relieved.

Section 3

On the ground, Harry and Hermione were still hiding behind the bushes, waiting for Lupin and the others to come up from the tree hole.

"Harry, I don't understand some things. Why didn't the Dementor catch Sirius? I remember they came. Then I probably fainted... there were so many of them..." Sitting beside Harry, Hermione asked in a low voice, recalling the terrible feeling, he still felt chill all over.

Harry also sat down. He told her what he saw; told her that when the dementors were about to kill them, a dazzling white light burst out from the opposite side of the lake, and something rushed over from the lake, and the dementors retreated in horror.

As Harry finished speaking, Hermione's mouth opened a little.

"But what is that?"

"Guardian Spell, powerful guardian spell-" Harry narrowed his eyes, "even - Holy Punishment!"

"Saint?" Hermione was stunned. She had never heard of the spell. "What is that?"

"A powerful magic that is advanced from the patron saint," Harry said, "only a very powerful wizard will use it. Soren told me that as far as he knows, only Dumbledore can use that magic."

"You mean it was Dumbledore?" Hermione asked in surprise.

"It shouldn't be," Harry hesitated. "Dumbledore's patron saint is a phoenix. I didn't see it clearly at the time, but I can be sure that it is definitely not a phoenix. Moreover, it may not be a saint, because I have never seen that magic.

"Who could that be?" Hermione was also confused. She hesitated for a moment, "Can it be Sauron?"

Harry shook his head silently, "It can't be him. Soren can't summon the guardian saint, he said it himself."

Hermione was stunned, "But that must be a truly magical wizard who can drive away so many dementors... If the guardian god could emit such a bright light, wouldn't he illuminate himself? You can't see..."

"I can't see clearly because the light is so bright," Harry said with some complaint. "The light covers everything opposite, and I didn't know very well at that time... Then I fainted immediately after that..."

"You said, could it be the one we just met?" Hermione whispered, thinking, "Let's assume that he set up a barrier, then sneaked into the tree hole, knocked out the later Snape, and followed us all the way, finally driving away the Dementor..."

"This doesn't work." Harry looked at Hermione, "If he had been following us and had done so much, why didn't he stop Peter when he ran away, unless..." Harry suddenly froze, and he looked at Hermione, "You mean-"

Hermione nodded in a complicated face, "Let Peter escape, that's his purpose..."
