Darkness Comes Resurrection
Darkness enveloped the world, and among the gloomy clouds, golden eyes stared at the earth - "It's time, let this world witness my power!"
The cold voice resounded through the world like a call. Countless dead souls, with deep resentment and hatred, flew towards the church square, climbed onto the blood-colored plant, wailing in pain and unwillingness, slowly blending into it, as if nourished, and the strange bud at the top of the plant began to bloom slowly.
"From now on, no one can stop me." The girl closed her eyes, felt the powerful power in the sky, and smiled with satisfaction.
Suddenly, she noticed something, opened her eyes and looked at one side of the square - a police car drove over quickly and rushed to the square. Several people ran out of the car, which was exactly Chris and the other four.
"Sad human, stupid bravery." The girl narrowed her eyes, and a cold and low voice came from all around her, "As humble as you, what can you change even if you use your life as a price."
Chris looked at the girl, hesitated for a moment, and did not raise his pistol. He grabbed Joanna who wanted to walk forward and blocked her behind him.
"Who are you?" Chris asked loudly, "What are you killing so many people?"
"Their death-" the girl looked at Chris without caring, "I'm just a small sacrifice on the way forward..."
"A little sacrifice!" Claire shouted, with a strong anger in his tone. "The whole town is dead, they are all innocent. What qualifications do you have to take their lives!"
"Hmph." A cold voice hummed with a smile, with disdain and mockery, "Just a bunch of ants, in this world, the weak -- no right to choose."
She turned her head and looked at the huge bud at the top of the plant, absorbing the souls of the dead in the town. The buds completely bloomed, revealing what was inside - it was a huge burning eye, exuding a strange and evil aura, as if all the hatred, pain and unwillingness of the wronged souls were condensed in it.
The girl pressed her hand on the blood-red branches of the plant, and her pupils suddenly contracted into a knife-like slit, projecting an invisible force into the sky. In an instant, the clouds rolled violently and gathered into a huge vortex. In the center of the vortex, the black cracks shattered the barriers of time and space and were slowly expanding; the surging black flames gushed out from the cracks, venting terrifying power in the sky.
"Roar—" A shocking roar suddenly rang out, roaring like thunder, forming a rolling wave in the clouds, spreading out, and the next moment, a giant flew out of the crack.
"God, what is that?" Chris and the others were stunned and stared at the huge and terrifying figure in the sky.
A black dragon slowly and forcefully swayed its huge wings, hanging high in the gloomy sky, and the burning black fire spread around it, as if it had ignited the entire sky. On its huge and hideous head, dark golden pupils, as narrow as a blade, swept across the earth, emitting a pressure like abyss and a sea, as if the air became stagnant.
"I walk in this world full of disasters. Pain and death turn into my flesh and blood, hatred and killing turn into my strength, and witness the endless desire and sorrow with my eyes-" Cold and majestic words echoed between heaven and earth, like an eternal oath, "My name is Sauron, and I am the Demon Lord!"
As the words fell, the giant eyes on the plants shattered, and the flames meandered down the vines, igniting the entire plant. The surface of the branches began to melt, and countless twisted and painful faces emerged. The whole plant turned into a strange and terrifying black tower. The dragon slowly descended, gathered its wings and fell to the top of the tower, and turned to look at Chris and the other four, with cold eyes.
"I said, I will not have any more mercy." He said slowly, and the black flames spewed out of his mouth and nose as he breathed, "What gave you sad courage to come here to face me."
There was an unspeakable depression. Under the terrifying pressure of the dragon, Chris and others were already in great courage to stand. After a long time, Chris took a step forward and looked at the dragon bravely. "Some things are worth our efforts." Chris shouted loudly, "Maybe we are humble and weak, but some things cannot be overwhelmed by the fear of death."
"Oh, is that?" Sauron said indifferently, with a mockery, "Is it a ridiculous sense of justice, or the so-called faith left to you by the loser on the cross?"
Chris shook his head, pressing his left chest with his fist, "Love." He stared at the dragon's cold eyes without any concession, saying word by word, "That is the most beautiful emotion of mankind, and you may never understand it."
The dark golden eyes shrank suddenly, and after a moment, a low and huge sneer sounded from the dragon's mouth. Sauron stared at Chris tightly, with a hint of hideousness in his eyes, "Interesting humans, then, let's see what your love can give you."
The land under the giant tower became muddy, and scarlet blood poured out of the land. On the giant tower, several painful and twisted faces broke out from the tower and rushed into the rolling pool of blood. After a moment, more than a dozen living zombies similar to those of the previous "Bill" crawled out of the pool of blood and walked slowly towards Chris.
"The souls of the dead are imprisoned in these bodies, and are tortured sadly and helplessly, turning the pain that has nowhere to vent in their hearts into hatred for the living-" Sauron looked at Chris, "If you can survive, maybe I will consider letting you go, or even returning Shirley to you."
Chris looked at the slowly coming corpses nervously and pulled out his pistol. He had seen the weirdness of this thing, so he fired without hesitation. Chris aimed at their heads and fired, slammed all the bullets in the magazine in one breath, leaving only one shot in the barrel of the gun habitually.
His marksmanship was very accurate. Several zombies were smashed to death and fell to the ground. Chris changed the magazine while retreating to prevent them from being pulled by them. However, at this time he found that the zombies that fell no longer crawled, but turned into a pool of blood and merged into the bodies of other zombies. The zombies let out shrill howls, and another face on their pale face seemed to be trying to grow, making these things look even more weird. They trembled, and their limbs bulged abnormally, cracking their skin, revealing the dark red muscles and blood vessels below.
"Hell." Chris cursed, immediately loaded up his magazine and started shooting. This time, the situation became difficult. After Chris shot off the skull of a zombie, the gunshot made the other people manic, and the alienated zombies became stronger and faster. Before Chris had time to shoot at the second zombie, they had already rushed in front of him.
Chris fired another shot, and the bullet hit one in the chest, staggering it. Another zombie had already rushed to Chris. Chris bent over and rushed forward, dodging his arms, bent his elbow and hit his ribs hatefully, pushing it out. The zombies that fell to the ground blocked the kind behind them, which gave Chris the opportunity to shoot with a pistol - he once again emptied the magazine and successfully killed three zombies.
There are only three zombies left now, but Chris didn't feel relaxed. He only had a magazine left. The three killed zombies once again merged into the rest of their kind. Those guys became taller and stronger, and their skin was torn even harder, revealing large areas of red muscles, their fingers became thicker, and sharp claws poked out from the flesh. They looked at Chris, howled loudly, and their sharp teeth were revealed in their cracked mouths.
Claire, who was standing by, looked at Chris nervously. She wanted to help, but it was difficult to move her fingers - the invisible force trapped her, Joanna and Ota, making them unable to watch Chris fight the zombies.
Claire had no doubt about the danger of those monsters. With just a small mistake, Chris would be finished. Claire tried hard to force herself not to think about the terrible and bloody ending, but the unconcealed fear had already deeply grasped her heart and made her fall into an ice cave. She couldn't help but look at Shirley standing not far away. When the black dragon appeared, Shirley had been standing quietly under the tower, watching all this silently.
"Maybe Shirley has been gone long ago. Now the one who occupies that body is nothing more than an evil and twisted soul." Claire thought sadly, and she looked at Joanna beside her. The poor mother looked haggard and sad, completely different from the beautiful woman she first met. She looked at Shirley blankly, as if her soul had been taken away by this painful and sad fate.
Chris was still dealing with three zombies, and these monsters ran very fast. Chris ran and avoided them, and occasionally shot them with pistols to prevent them from being knocked down by them. Chris glanced at Soren, who was on the top of the tower. He was just watching Chris flee in a panic, as if playing tricks on him, seeking fun in his struggle to escape death.
Chris seized the opportunity and broke the leg joint of a living zombie with a pistol. The guy staggered. Although he couldn't die, the threat to Chris was greatly reduced. However, before Chris could breathe a sigh of relief, things changed again - those living zombies seemed to hate this pursuit. Under the stimulation of crazy desire to kill, one living zombie pounced on the injured one, then bit its head and chewed it heavily. Blood mixed with brains dripped from its mouth, looking bloody and disgusting. The guy howled shrillly, rushed towards the other living zombie. The two guys started fighting, and the winner was decided soon.
Chris subconsciously felt a danger, and the two bodies turned into blood again, melting into the last one. It bent, howled in pain, and teared itself with its claws. Just when Chris thought it was going to tear itself into pieces, it quietly quieted down strangely and began to transform again - the wound was healing rapidly, a layer of black scales grew out, covering the red muscles; the tailbone pierced the skin, slowly stretched, and grew into a slender and powerful tail; the originally deformed claws began to retract, becoming even and powerful, with sharp claws between their fingers, shining with metallic luster like blades.
In terms of appearance, the current zombies are far less terrifying than before, and even have a certain cruel beauty, but Chris vaguely feels fear, especially when he sees the eyes of the monster - the snake-like eyes, which are cold and cruel, but not crazy.
