Chapter 21 Ghosts

The military police set up formation in the tavern and ordered the guests present to raise their hands and squat down beside the wall. Halandil found that not only the tavern he was in, but also some of the buildings outside the window had military police entering and leaving.

It is certain that a considerable number of the semi-elves and humans operating in this sewer area do not have legal identities or engage in illegal transactions, or they carry more or less contraband, otherwise they would not be so afraid when they encountered Pilottis of the Bureau of Investigation. The Canaan officials maintained a semi-indulgent attitude towards them that they could control at any time.

However, pedestrians on the road outside collapsed like a tide. The gendarmerie who rushed into the house to investigate did not chase them, but instead surrounded the buildings near the tavern with clear goals.

The official target is among these buildings. I was involved because of this stone sculpture of Jung who was intentionally close to me and the cult group, or because I was really related to the plot of Antiha's death... Halandier's eyes moved slightly, and his heartbeat almost stopped.

Jung, who was whispering to Harandil just now, muttered to himself in a daze. He subconsciously took a few steps back and stared at the military police approaching from the door. The thin beads of sweat had already oozed out of his forehead, and his bronze face was as white as paper, covering the despair that seemed to be the arrival of doomsday.

After a moment, Jung smiled bitterly: "It seems that I can't help you with the next thing, my mentor has set you a backup plan."

Halandier slowly stood up and stood by the wall as directed by the gendarmerie.

Jung looked at him, moved his lips slightly as if he wanted to say something. However, he swallowed his words in the end, grinded a small bottle out of his pocket, and drank it without hesitation: "All ordinary people die..."

His final voice was a vague tone, like a crying vague tone. At the same time, his hair grew rapidly, his teeth and nails grew to a razor-like level in the blink of an eye, and his body expanded rapidly, hunched and ferocious like jackals and monkeys. His face was extremely distorted, presenting a terrifying outline of non-humanity. Under his skin, bones and muscles squirmed violently like a group of living worms.

Harandil immediately sensed a surging breath coming to his face. The dark terror that seemed to appear in a nightmare standing in front of him, and something terrible seemed to break out of his body.

"Note!" The gendarmes noticed Jung's change, raised their weapons, grabbed the sirens and blew them hard. They did not issue any orders or threats to Jung, but opened the strong bow in their hands and shot a series of arrows without hesitation.

Jung transformed into a creature that could not be called human in full view, but in many places he was similar to humans. He stood upright with his feet and leaned forward, looking like a standing giant wolf, which made people tremble. Faced with the military police's shooting, he did not dodge or avoid, and rushed forward.

"Werewolf!" A gendarmerie shouted, and then he was hit with his companion.

At the same time, there was also noise outside the tavern. Halandil heard the sound of running around, and a series of screams and tragic roars from somewhere.

Then there were even more severe shouts, mixed with sharp and harsh whistling arrows that broke through the air. Immediately afterwards, screams and impacts, and the loud noise of the collapse of the building.

Everyone escaped from the tavern and ran away in a panic. Halandir also mingled in it. He saw several similar werewolfs breaking out of various buildings and attacking from several places at the same time.

These mutated werewolfs seemed to be Jung's companions nearby. They were amazing in size, and their sharp claws could even climb and jump on the domes of walls and sewers. Even the half-elf military police selected from the regular army could not stop their impact for a while. Although the military police were prepared, they did not carry long spears and heavy shields to fight against large creatures. They pierced their crossbows into the tough fur and flesh that were as tough as iron, and could not stop the werewolf's attack at all.

After being impacted, several military police were in chaos, and even several were hit and flew into the small river in the sewer. Many passers-by who could not dodge were also swept in, struggling desperately in the pool of blood, screaming loudly.

The five demon wolves quickly rushed out of the building and gathered in the narrow terrain beside the waterway. They lined up like human cavalry, ready to break out of the encirclement. However, the Canaan official was able to take action directly, which means that they had already laid a net, and dozens of figures flashed out of the shadows and buildings around them. The half-elf ranger who was ready to go shot a rain of arrows at the werewolf.

This round of intensive shooting was even more amazing than the attacks of the military police. Two werewolfs were knocked to the ground on the spot. The rain of arrows had not subsided yet, and a whole team of heavy infantry in shawls rushed over from the nearby passage.

They held long halberds, neither shouting nor calling, and even lined up in the panic crowd and the utility room without even giving orders from the commander, forming a dense queue of staggered front and back, raising a chirp of guns that shone coldly at the demon wolf. Some agile hunters even flashed out from behind the team and threw large nets at the werewolf that fell.

These large nets are woven with extremely tough materials, with smooth tung oil applied to the mesh rope, and even sharp barbs installed. The demon wolves who fell on both ends could not dodge and were trapped on the spot. A team of infantry swarmed up, slinging the halberds around and poked them, pulled them out, and poked them again.

The werewolfs who fell to the ground were immediately dismembered. However, the other werewolfs avoided the net and charged at the infantry team. They were like hurricanes raging on the seaside, tearing up all obstacles that blocked them and throwing them into the air, and even grabbed the fleeing civilians and smashing them towards the army, making whimpering sounds, both like the howling of a beast and the crazy laughter.

Canaan officials did not care about accidental injuries at all. The dense rain of arrows chased the werewolf and shot the nearby civilians like a sudden summer rain. The arrows shot by the rangers were heavy armor-breaking arrows specially used to kill large creatures. Once they hit the human body, they would easily break their hands and feet and bring them out of their intestines. The scene was already in chaos, and the humans were shot down in pieces, and the rest made deafening screams. Halandier mixed in the crowd and ran out while carefully avoiding them. Many humans were running around with their heads and arms around them, holding their intestines in their hands.

Halandil knew that there was no time to worry about being injured by accident. Canaan officials seemed to be determined to hunt down members of the "Oritosnake" organization. Staying on the scene may be likely to be killed in the melee; and if the officials discovered that Jung and the others were trying to contact him, Halandil was really unable to control his destiny as a half-elf with a slight slight voice.

Moreover, even though this place has become a flesh-and-blood mill, the battle has just begun. Once these werewolfs cannot be taken down for a short period of time, Canaan's elite troops will be on the stage.

Three werewolfs jumped onto the wall and prepared to break through the block from the side. The strongest werewolf was transformed by Jung, and it was a bigger size than other companions. It could even ignor the snipers of armor-breaking arrows and rushed forward.

However, he suddenly fell down before he walked far, and his front paws struggled and fluttered desperately in front of his throat, as if someone had strangled his throat tightly, and the invisible power could not be broken free.

At the same time, the other two werewolfs became soft and fell from the wall like drunkards.

One of the gray-white werewolf was extremely fierce and ferocious. He was already full of arrows like a hedgehog. After falling, he still jumped up and prepared to fight back. However, as soon as he got up, a sharp silver arrow suddenly appeared in the shadow of the empty left side. After the arrow appeared, the longbow and the archer covered with sperm armor also showed his figure and shot an arrow at the defenseless werewolf's left ear.

"Bang!"

Amid the dull sound, arrows penetrated their brains like meteors falling to the ground, splashing out with brains and flesh. The fierce werewolf was shot to the ground before they could even whine.

Halandil saw the archer who shot this fatal arrow among the crowd of people who were fleeing, with a tall and slender female figure, but it was a fatal aura that made people feel heart-pounding. She was wearing rare armor, and her figure seemed to be illusory.

"ghost!"

Someone exclaimed in the escaped crowd, with almost superstitious fear in the tremolo. Hearing this name, the other civilians were all shattered, and even cried for a few seconds.

Harandil saw the archer who showed his body wearing close-fitting trait armor and helmet covering the whole body below the head. There was also an energy network like tendons and veins flowing on the torso and limbs of the armor, which could guide and enhance psychic energy, greatly improve strength, agility and endurance.

This is an almost legendary elite unit owned by Canaan. It has the power of rangers' long-range and melee combat, and can hide and approach the enemy like extraordinary people who are good at stealth. They are deadly hunters, equipped with traits of bows and arrows, and the rate of fire is reduced compared to conventional equipment, while strengthening the penetration of large creatures and heavy armor targets. Special arrows can be crushed by psychic energy when launched, causing large-scale damage to light armor units, and can also be accelerated by psychic energy aggregation, causing terrifying sniper killing to a single target.

As soon as the ghost appeared, he put away his bow and arrow, pulled out two swords from his waist and twisted them together, turning them into a wave-like double-edged sword. This alien weapon is unique to the Canaanite elves. Once it is swung, it is like a death storm sweeping across the battlefield.

She held the sword of her hands back on her right hand and rushed towards the other werewolf who fell. Her agile body then jumped up from the spot. The moment she landed, her legs intertwined like dance steps, and turned around and saw a slash like a nebula.

As the sword shone, the werewolf was cut into two sections in half, and the warm blood dyed the rivers in the sewer red.

In the end, the Jung werewolf who survived began to fight back frantically, but could not catch or penetrate the well-made armor of Ghost. The weapons in the Ghost could easily break his defense, tear a hole in the solid fur, and turn the flesh and blood out.

The desperate werewolf suddenly roared to the sky. His roar was heartbreaking, and even Halandier, who was watching the game in the distance, felt a sensation in his heart, and his hands and feet became stiff.

A series of shocking bursts sounded in the sewer. Several human civilians not far from werewolf could not bear the terrifying power. Their heads exploded in this terrifying roar, wiping red and white all over the ground like broken watermelons.

The ghost who fought with Jung immediately fell into a bad state. Her agile figure became shaky and empty, and she was about to be killed by the attacking claws.

Suddenly, the whistling sound of a long whip sounded in the air, like a thunderbolt slapping the soul. Under this invisible shock, werewolf Jung directly spurted blood from his mouth, and his strong body also tore out deep bone-visible wounds as if it had been rolled over by three thousand sharp blades.

As a soldier, Halandil realized that this invisible attack was a "spiritual whip" projected by a powerful extraordinary person, and a terrifying attack that acted on both the body and the spirit. The ghost's companions took action. They did not show their bodies and directly threw down terrifying psychic energy and severely injured the werewolf.

He fled with countless civilians. On the eve of rushing into the darkness, he turned his head and saw that the ghost who had recovered from his consciousness had cut off the Jung werewolf's arms and captured him alive.

In trouble.
