Chapter 534 Aerospace Testing
"Can this thing really make people hibernate?"
In the simulated space capsule, several space agency engineers gathered around an artificial hibernation chamber that had been placed, squirting amazing things.
Next to them, a staff member from Ruikang is teaching them how to use the hibernation bin.
This thing is actually very simple to use. Just set a few parameters, then give the user an injection, and then stuff it into the hibernation chamber.
There is no need for manual injection. After many clinical tests, all the automated operations of the artificial hibernation chamber have been tested once, and there is no problem.
It is entirely possible to stuff the user into the hibernation chamber directly, and then the hibernation chamber itself can scan the user's physical data, then inject him with the appropriate dose of inducer, and after falling into shallow hibernation, fill it with nutrient solution and turn on the deep hibernation mode.
Now there is no need for staff to ask the user about height and weight, and then manually enter the parameters. It can be completely controlled by the artificial intelligence provided by the hibernation warehouse, which is very convenient.
Ruikang staff quickly taught the space agency how to use artificial hibernation bins.
"How to say? Start testing now?" the director responsible for maintaining the simulated capsule asked the chief engineer waiting for the fire plan.
The chief engineer nodded: "Please conduct stress resistance and weightless environment testing first."
When a rocket is launched from Earth into space, the reaction force caused by acceleration is very large. Usually, astronauts in the cabin have to bear acceleration pressure of 4-4.5 g.
Of course, the items in the cabin also need to withstand such high overloads, so the overload resistance of the artificial hibernation chamber must be tested.
But everyone is still very confident about this.
After all, artificial hibernation chambers are also made of metal. The acceleration of a few g is definitely still able to withstand it, unlike humans, who are flesh and blood, and cannot withstand this pressure.
The only thing I am worried about is that the parts in the artificial hibernation chamber are too precise and too subtle, and will the pressure increase lead to damage to the parts.
Fortunately, their worries are unnecessary.
After all the staff evacuated the simulated space capsule, overload testing was started in the cabin.
From an acceleration of 1 g to an acceleration of 10 g, through the glass window, no one saw any tremor in the artificial hibernation chamber, and it was still standing in the corner.
The acceleration of 10 g is enough. Even when astronauts are training in the Aerospace City, the maximum value will generally not exceed 8 g, let alone 10 g, because exceeding this value will cause harm to the astronauts' bodies.
So under normal circumstances, the acceleration of 8 g is already the limit.
However, in some extreme cases, astronauts will also encounter some instantaneous overloads of more than ten g.
It is rumored that the first astronaut in China to go into space had endured a momentary extreme overload, and when he returned to Earth, there was bloodshot at the corner of his mouth.
However, this rumor has never been confirmed, and even within the space agency, only a small number of people know the truth.
But this situation no longer occurs now. Usually astronauts only endure 4-5 g acceleration when they go to heaven, and they only have a climbing stage. After reaching space, they will no longer feel accelerating.
Soon, after the maximum overload value in the cabin exceeded 10 g, it slowly began to drop again, dropping back to 1g.
Several Ruikang staff quickly went in and moved out the artificial hibernation warehouse, conducted detailed inspections, and even transported them to a large research institute of the Space Administration, and violently dismantled them. It took two days to inspect each part.
No part is deformed, not any damage, and all subsystems are functioning normally!
It’s a pity that after this equipment was disassembled, the Space Administration could not assemble it again and could only be scrapped.
But the problem is not big. The Space Administration asked three prototypes from Ruikang Group at one time, which is enough for testing.
After the stress resistance test is successfully completed, other tests are started.
High temperature test: Work at 71°C for 48 hours, then work at 93°C for 30 minutes. The air pressure is 0.35 standard atmospheric pressure and the relative humidity does not exceed 15%.
Low temperature test: Working for 4 hours at -18°C.
Temperature-pressure test: The maximum chamber pressure is 10-6 Standard atmospheric pressure, and the temperature rises to 71°C. Then the temperature drops to -18°C within 45 minutes, and then rises back to 71°C within 45 minutes. This cycle requires 16 times.
Relative humidity test: At least 95% relative humidity, a total of 240 hours, the temperature varies between 20°C and 71°C. The ph value of the vapor is between 6.5 and 7.5.
Oxygen environment test: The artificial hibernation chamber needs to be placed in a 0.35 standard atmospheric pressure and 100% oxygen environment for 48 hours.
Impact test: 6 times of impact force of 40g, each lasting 11 milliseconds, and 6 times come from different directions.
Low pressure test: Under a vacuum environment of 10-6 standard atmospheric pressure, work at 71 °C for 90 minutes, and then at 93 °C for 30 minutes.
Vibration test: 3 30-minute cycles (side, horizontal, and vertical), the average acceleration of each vibration must reach at least 8.8g.
Noise test: 130 decibels, frequency 40 to 10,000 Hz, hold for 30 minutes.
A month later, the test results were released, and the artificial hibernation warehouse successfully passed all the tests!
There are a total of ten extreme situations that may be encountered in space. The artificial hibernation chamber is perfectly resistant to it, without any performance damage, even downtime, or explosion accidents!
Still running normally!
This result undoubtedly shocked the leaders of the space agency!
If Ruikang Group had not considered that this product would be used for deep space exploration during its research and development, it would definitely not have been able to achieve such high specifications!
This shows that Ruikang Group has been ready to go to space from the beginning!
This surprised the chief engineer of the Denghuo Plan!
What is more convenient than using it directly?
He immediately issued an order to select two reserve astronauts and conduct the last and most critical test.
Perform artificial hibernation tests in a simulated space environment!
This is the most important test!
Before this, no one had ever hibernated in space!
Not to mention humans, even the small animals that come to heaven cannot hibernate in space. There is no such condition!
But now, China Space Administration is about to take this crucial step for the world aerospace field!
The instructions of the chief engineer of the Fire were quickly sent to the hands of the reserve astronauts who were conducting astronaut training in the Aerospace City.
They immediately conducted internal selections!
Chapter completed!
