Chapter 869 Reconnaissance

The U-827 is a VIIC/41 submarine.

This submarine was slightly improved by the VIIC submarine. Its hull is mainly built with thicker and stronger materials so that it can dive to a deeper depth. However, because the components in the boat use lighter materials and more reasonable planning, the total weight of the submarine not only did not increase but was slightly lighter than that of the VIIC, so the speed, range, etc. are basically unchanged.

Captain Brecht had just lying down in the captain's room when the correspondent handed a telegram to Captain Brecht.

Captain Brecht took a look at the contents of the telegram, then turned over and sat up.

It originally thought it was an ordinary attack command...it told them where they were running to lurking and waiting for the target to appear, but it didn't expect it to be a reconnaissance mission.

As we all know, the reconnaissance mission seems simple, and only requires sending a few crew members to the shore to take a look, but in fact such a mission is not easy at all than an attack mission, and it can be said to be more dangerous.

The reason is that submarines can run away when performing attack missions, and the attack location is suitable for submarine submarines or combat.

But reconnaissance mission...firstly, it has to approach the enemy's coast, where enemy destroyers are often everywhere, and secondly, it has to be retracted after the sailors have been released to complete the reconnaissance mission. During this period, it means that the submarine must always stay not far from the coastline, which is difficult and dangerous for the submarine.

However, commands are commands.

After thinking about it, Captain Brecht ordered: "Notify Sergeant Weis to come to my place!"

"yes!"

Sergeant Weiss soon appeared in front of Captain Brecht... The captain's room is usually in the middle of the submarine, and crew members at both ends can find the captain in the shortest time.

Captain Brecht pointed to the map and said in a concise manner: "Two kilometers south of Edinburgh, reconnaissance missions will be carried out after dark!"

"Yes, sir!" Sergeant Weiss replied, hesitating and asked again: "If we are discovered, how can we come back?"

This is the most difficult... The reconnaissance mission itself is not difficult. You just need to rush to the designated location and report the reconnaissance results to the submarine via radio. The difficulty lies in the fact that it is discovered, it is almost impossible for the reconnaissance team to return to the submarine, because it will bring fatal danger to the entire submarine.

"If found!" Captain Brecht replied: "You don't need to return, surrender!"

Sergeant Weis was stunned for a moment, and soon realized that this might be his last mission, but he stood up and saluted, responding: "Yes, sir!"

As expected, Captain Brecht and Sergeant Weiss estimated, although they completed the reconnaissance mission, they were unable to return to the submarine because they were discovered by the enemy... Even when the British soldiers realized that their captives were German submarine soldiers, they immediately sent five destroyers to search nearby.

None of these is the point, because no one cares about a six-person reconnaissance team on the battlefield, three people were killed, two people were captured, and one jumped into the sea with a radio on his back... These are too ordinary for the battlefield, so ordinary that when people hear this number of casualties, they think it is not worth mentioning at all.

The point is that the reconnaissance team successfully arrived at the designated location, that is, the German monitoring unit heard that there should be a military base here... but it was empty and there was nothing but forests and weeds.

The reconnaissance team reported this intelligence to the submarine via radio, and the submarine reported the intelligence to the Navy Command, and then the intelligence was transmitted to the Western Front Command.

"Great!" Rommel couldn't help but scream when he got the information: "I knew, I knew... this was a lie. That guy was deceived, and it was him who was fooled, the guy who had never entered a tank!"

As he said that, Rommel raised the telegram in Qin Chuan again and said, "Good job, Lieutenant Colonel, we won!"

Then he kicked the next to him with a kick and said to Colonel Schuster: "You can throw them all into the trash can, because none of them is true!"

Then, Rommel took Qin Chuan and Colonel Slein to the second floor in a blazing manner, and Longdestedt's office was in the middle.

Extraordinary, Longdstedt and several staff members were there, and he was discussing something with several staff members.

"Hissergeant Commander-in-Chief!" Rommel walked in proudly and said, "Based on your information, do you think the 4th Allied Army gathered in Edinburgh, Scotland and was ready to launch an attack on Norway, right?"

Longdestedt felt that the visitor was not good at the first time, but he calmly replied: "Yes, is there any problem?"

"I think you should check this out!" Rommel handed the telegram.

While Longdstedt was staring at the telegram, Rommel couldn't wait to say: "We happened to have a submarine near Edinburgh, so I asked them to reconnaissance at this so-called 4th Army base. Do you know what they found? Nothing! Yes, everyone... there is nothing. This 4th Army does not exist at all, or it only exists in your surveillance!"

When several officers looked at each other and looked at the telegram in Longdestedt's hand, Rommel continued: "It is obvious that the British knew that our reconnaissance planes could not reach Scotland, warships could not break through their shore defense, and even spies did not have the conditions to arrive, so there was no forged military base, there was only a deserted area, no army, no barracks, no tanks and landing craft, only weeds and stones!"

After a moment of silence, Longdstedt threw the telegram aside and said, "Martyr Rommel, what do you want to explain?"

"What do I want to say?" Rommel looked at Rondstedt in surprise: "I proved that this is a scam, right?"

"It's true!" Longdstedt replied: "But you seem to forget what the focus of our argument is. You don't think the Allies will attack Calais, and it has nothing to do with the 4th Army!"

"We know that the British deceived us with radio!" Rommel said: "They forged the 4th Army, and of course they could also use the same method to forge the 1st Army..."
