Chapter 677: Memories of the Necromancer

Alfonso rubbed his sore neck and asked Reicher: "Are you sure this is a good idea?"

Reicher stared at Marcus standing beside Karin and said, "Todd agrees."

Afang Suo sighed later: "Since Your Majesty has decided..."

Reicher lowered his voice and said, "I have already sent a request for help from the Valkyrie Group. I have increased the staff of the alien association, and you also asked the Knights to send some more people here."

Alfonso remembered the scene of the battle just now and couldn't help but feel a little worried: "Let such a dead soul enter Muxi City, where the population is densely populated, and I'm worried something will happen."

Reacher said: "Marcus will not enter Mugxi, we will place him elsewhere... Oh, by the way, your mission is over, Your Majesty asks you to go back first."

Alfonso glanced at Marcus: "The mission is over? The grudge between me and him may not be over."

Reacher said: "Don't think about solving anything now. In Todd's words, Marcus is very useful to us now."

Alfonso turned to look at Recher and asked, "Your words made me doubt. Are you suggesting that Marcus will be dealt with once he loses its use?"

Reichel nodded slightly.

Alfonso frowned and asked hesitantly: "Is this your Majesty's decision?"

Reicher shook his head: "No, this is my decision."

Alfonso turned his head, with a little displeasure in his words: "It is not wise to use others to abandon it. You may be able to gain short-term benefits, but it will completely disappoint many people."

Ruiqier said with a smile: "What do you mean is to let Marcus, the necromancer stay in the Dragon Kingdom forever. Even if it may cause a plague of necromancers, you plan to turn a blind eye?"

Alfonso didn't know how to answer this question for a while.

After a struggle in his heart, Alfonso whispered his decision: "If one day, Marcus really has to die, at least arrange a fair duel with him. If I win, then everything is naturally the best..."

Reacher asked, "What if you lose?"

Alfonso: "After my eyes are closed, you can do everything you want to do."

The next morning, Reicher took Karin on a journey home.

Marcus was arranged separately into a special carriage, a "guard" composed of dozens of knights and Valkyrie, responsible for "careing" the guest.

Starting from Guyan City, heading north.

Richer, sitting in the carriage, hugged the quiet Karin and said softly: "Remember, you can't take this risk next time."

Karin whispered, “I just think I should do that.”

"It's one thing to do, and it's another thing to pay the price." Reichel gently touched Karin's hair: "Sometimes, you work hard, you carry the burden, but in the end you find that everything has returned to the starting point."

Karin raised her head in confusion.

Reichel smiled and said, "Don't think too much."

Karin lowered her head thoughtfully and swallowed the words that came to her mouth.

Reacher lifted up the curtains of the carriage, looked at the view outside, and said, "We will take Marcus to a place before we go back to Twilight."

Karin suddenly grabbed Richer's hand: "If possible, please don't hurt him."

Richer looked at Karin's dim eyes and asked, "Marcus's body is sewn from corpses. He only retains his most primitive nature and intelligence. His behavior is more like a necromancer than a human. In your opinion, is he still the original person?"

Karin lowered her head and said, "I know he is no longer the original Marcus, but he still remembers me and many things in the past. If I were really asked to judge, he should be half a human and half a necromancer."

"So, what do you think is the reason he continues to exist is because of half of the human in his body?"

Karin continued to nod her head softly.

Reichel smiled.

She patted Karin on the head: "Like Todd, you both value Marcus's humanity more, but reduce his threat as a dead soul."

Karin asked, “Todd also thinks Marcus should be left behind?”

"Todd supports staying Marcus with the conditions, provided that he does an experiment to see if the latter is really human."

Reicher's words puzzled Karin again: "Experiment?"

Reicher turned his gaze out the window: "You'll know soon."

Three days later, the group finally arrived at the destination - Monastery of San Sidro.

Listening to the monk's chanting and the sound of ringing from the bell tower in the distance, Karin asked Ruiqiel in surprise, "Why do you want to come here?"

Reichel signaled the knights to open Marcus's door.

Marcus, who had been imprisoned in the carriage for a long time, was already on the verge of furiousness. He knocked out the locked car door and rushed out of the carriage with a quick glance, but was attracted by the towering cross of the Monastery of San Sidro and stopped moving.

Recher waved his hand and signaled all the knights and Valkyrie to retreat while staying alert.

Marcus stroked the patterns on the gate of the Monastery of St. Sidro and walked in by a stranger.

Along the way, the monks who saw Marcus were frightened and screamed and fled.

But Marcus didn't care about these noisy humans at all and walked straight towards the depths of the monastery.

Recher supported Karin, and under the escort of the Knights and Valkyrie, he followed Marcus all the way, and finally came to a room built in the innermost part of the monastery.

Marcus carefully pushed open the dusty door, opened the spider webs hanging everywhere in the room, walked to a wall, and gently stroked the engravings on the corner.

Karin, who couldn't see, asked, "Where are we?"

Reacher said: "Marcus entered Myris' room. Since Myris disappeared, Todd has ordered the room to be kept and no one can enter."

Karin nodded and asked again, "What is Marcus doing now?"

Reichel looked carefully and said, "In the corner of the room, there were some traces cut with a knife, and Marcus was carefully looking at the traces."

Karin was silent for a moment and continued, "I know what that is. Those are all carved by Myris, recording Marcus's height records from childhood to adulthood."

Reicher said to himself: "Are the memories of father and son?"

Marcus turned around, came to the bed, pulled out a box from under the bed, opened it and saw a silver dagger inside.

When Karin learned all this, she couldn't help but cover her mouth and whispered: "That was the gift I gave to him at the Marcus's coming-of-age gift, and I always thought he had lost my gift."
