8. Karazhan. Living Dead Zone

The waters of Tidefall Island are not far from the waters of Stormwind Kingdom. Tyrion ran wildly on the sea for 3 hours before entering Long Beach in the Western Wilderness. From there, he headed south to Dusk Forest.

It is said that when the sun was shining, you could even see the towers of Stormwind City's city wall through this forest. However, during the war two years ago, the darkness pouring from the remote and dangerous Deadwind Pass completely covered this forest.

This place used to be called Sunshine Forest, but now it is shrouded in darkness 24 hours a day. It has become very dangerous. Even the rude and savage orcs are unwilling to enter it after occupying Stormwind City.

This also made Dusk Forest a gathering place for the fleeing people of Stormwind City. The orcs did not send soldiers into the forest to arrest them, so Night Town in Dusk Forest was probably the last area controlled by humans in the Kingdom of Stormwind.

This forest that is always in the dark is mysterious. Tyrion rides a skeleton war horse and advances along the forest road. He knows very well that there are not only resentful spirits awakened by dark energy, but also the existence of dragons.

In the center of Dusk Forest, there is a gate leading to the mysterious Emerald Dream, which is guarded by the Green Dragon Legion, the guardians of the dream.

"The green lizards have existed here long before the birth of the Kingdom of Stormwind. They have guarded the dream world for hundreds of centuries."

When Tyrion passed by a fork in the forest, he looked in the northeast direction. In the valley of the forest, there was a power that mortals could not resist. He had no plans to provoke those green dragons yet.

He just expressed pure emotion.

"Mortals always think that they are the masters of the world, but they don't know that their kingdom is built bit by bit from scratch under the watchful eye of higher-level powers. Maybe the orcs know the green dragon

His presence did not break the tranquility of this forest."

"Haha, dragons once again guarded life, although they may not know it or care about it."

Tyrion pulled up the reins of the horse, and the skeleton horse neighed silently, quickened his pace, and disappeared into the darkness. When he saw the fortress-like Night Town in the distance, the death knight stretched out his hand and stood on his shoulder.

The ghost owl let out a long whistle, flapped its wings and flew into the darkness.

This silent predator flew through the town below, where at least thousands of people gathered, and quickly found a path for the death knight that would not alert the guards.

Tyrion is not afraid of these humans who are taking refuge, and their life and death has nothing to do with him. However, in order to enter the headwind path where Karazhan is located, you must pass through Night Town. The location of this town is very important and can be called a storm.

At the east gate of the kingdom, there is also an army formed after the darkness fell.

The Night's Watch was originally a militia that defended the town. After Stormwind City was breached, many unwilling veterans joined them and continued to fight against the orcs, which greatly strengthened Night Town's military strength.

"puff"

At the intersection leading to the Deadwind Pass, a Night's Watch soldier who fled in panic was pierced through the chest with a long sword. Behind him was a completely destroyed sentry tower. Tyrion expressionlessly removed the long sword from the human

With his heart drawn out, he wiped the blood of the sword blade on the deceased's clothes, then looked back at the town in the dark night, turned over and mounted his horse, and under the guidance of Moon Claw, he quickly disappeared on the path leading to the headwind.

on the fork in the road.

Less than five minutes after the death knight left, the corpses of the five killed night watchmen strangely resurrected. Their souls had been swallowed into the abyss of hell. Under the control of the dark energy that permeated the forest, they were resurrected.

All he has left is his body, and he will "live" as a zombie without intelligence and only capable of destroying everywhere.

In this forest, there are many such mindless walking corpses, especially in the two cemeteries in Night Town. Those large tracts of resurrected corpses have become the most disturbing to Duke Aberlock and the people stationed here.

A headache for his soldiers, and this strange power of resurrecting the dead is the real danger in this twilight forest...

After entering the desolate headwind path, the omnipresent fog gradually thickened. Tyrion advanced on the rugged mountain road. Every time he raised his head, he could clearly see the end of the mountain in the thick fog.

The Dark Tower is his destination, the mage tower of the astral mage Medivh - Karazhan.

This mage tower was built hundreds of years ago by Medivh's mother, Lady Aegwynn. It was originally used to escape the endless pursuit of Tirisfal Council. Later, Lady Aegwynn met the love of her life.

After becoming a man, this place became her home. The astral mage Medivh was born here, and in the era when he was born, this place was still shrouded in gentle sunlight.

"Ding, ding, ding"

The heavy sound of horse bells broke the tranquility of the mist. As Tyrion got closer and closer to Karazhan, the number of strange figures hidden in the mist also became larger. They were like shadows, quietly moving in the mist.

They appeared silently and disappeared silently. Some of them still had human forms, but their eyes were filled with vicious dark red light. Some of them had been tortured and had lost their bodies, leaving only resentment.

Spirit-like endless hatred.

But they didn't dare to get close to Tyrion. The death energy surging in the death knight's body was so powerful. If they approached rashly, they would be bound behind the death knight instinctively and become his servant.

This is the thing that these resentful spirits who are bound to this mist and land resist the most.

This place was once part of the Kingdom of Stormwind, and these resentful spirits were originally residents of Deadwind Pass. Although they lived a poor life, under the protection of the Astral Mage, they could at least stay safe. Unfortunately, Medivh's soul was controlled by the Lord of the Legion.

, and after being killed by his friend Lothar, his apprentice Khadgar, and his friend Garona, his terrifying power exploded, destroying all life in Deadwind Pass in an instant.

To this day, the dark energy that erupted when Medivh died has not dissipated. The changes in the Dusk Forest are the victims of this dark power.

"A bunch of wretches."

Tyrion didn't care about the ghosts hiding in the mist, even though they looked at him with hatred and malice. Amidst the neighing of the ghost owl's moon claws, these ghosts didn't dare to stop it and could only follow him.

behind.

"Hate Medivh extremely, but dare not leave the Deadwind Pass. Only here are they free. Maybe they also know what is waiting for them in the abyss of Hell..."

When stepping onto the ground near Karazhan, the death knight looked back and saw that the thick fog had begun to dissipate. Obviously, those low-level wraiths did not dare to approach this place.

Even after death, they still feared Medivh's dark majesty.

However, when Tyrion entered the village at the foot of Karazhan, his expression became strange. In the memory of previous games, there should be a group of more powerful resentful spirits here, but in front of him,

Although the village has been completely destroyed, leaving only ruins, there is a scene of "crowds of people" in front of the majestic and dark mage tower.

Just like a lively market, many people have gathered in front of the entrance of Karazhan Master Tower. They are talking to each other, some are dancing, and some small businessmen are loudly selling their goods.

, it looks full of life, but combined with the incomplete and dark ruins around it, this scene looks weird no matter how you look at it.

"Ah, Elf Knight!"

A guy leaning against the entrance of the village greeted Tyrion drunkenly:

"The war horse is nice. Are you here to attend Mr. Medivh's banquet too?"

"Well?"

Tyrion blinked his eyes. He glanced at the noisy "crowd" in front of him. He coughed lightly and focused his attention on the guy in front of him again. He looked like a young nobleman, a little down and out, and wore shabby clothes.

But the decent clothes are just an illusion, barely maintaining a human form. Obviously, this is also a ghost... but it is not the kind of resentful spirit that has lost consciousness.

"Are they all here for...the party?"

Tyrion asked in a low voice. The young nobleman put the long-empty wine bottle to his mouth, then burped, turned back and glared at the "crowd" behind him, and said very dissatisfied:

"Of course! Being able to attend Mr. Medivh's banquet is a symbol of the upper class status of the Kingdom of Stormwind. Look at the old nobleman riding the horse. That is Count Jonas, and his beautiful wife, who was once mine.

Lover, that old dog is trying to steal love... Forget it, let's not talk about it. Standing next to the old dog is the Duchess of Alberlock and the lord and his wife here. They are all top nobles. Although

I was also invited, but I don’t belong to that circle. This is an opportunity..."

The ghost of the little noble pursed his lips and said with some yearning:

"Maybe I can join the upper class..."

"interesting."

Tyrion carefully observed the eyes and consciousness of the little aristocratic ghost in front of him. His soul was very complete, with almost no defects. He just lost his body, and there was no trace of darkness pollution in his soul. It was as if he was forcibly bound by some kind of force.

in the consciousness of the living.

You see, he even drinks! Even though the bottle is long gone...

Tyrion dismounted and threw the reins of the skeleton horse to the little noble:

"This thing is yours! You like it, don't you?"

This sudden gift made the young noble's soul a little confused, but soon he stood up helplessly, circled the skeleton horse twice, and rubbed his hands excitedly:

"With it, maybe I can attract the attention of those lovely noble ladies... What do you want from me?"

The little noble turned to look at Tyrion, who moved his fingers and said softly:

"I want your invitation... Since I'm here to attend the banquet, how can I do it without an invitation?"

A moment later, Tyrion, holding the invitation letter, blended into the ghosts in front. He was a rare high elf, and he quickly attracted the attention of the nobles. Under Tyrion's conscious guidance, he quickly

Mingle with those ghost nobles.

This was not in vain. Tyrion soon learned some things while chatting with them.

First of all, the memories of these ghosts are fixed at the moment of Medivh's death 3 years ago. They do not know that the Kingdom of Stormwind has fallen, nor do they know that their home has been destroyed.

Secondly, whenever Tyrion mentioned the war in the outside world, these ghosts showed very little interest. All their attention seemed to be placed on the upcoming banquet of the astral mages.

Finally, every soul around here is extremely complete and full of vitality, has its own wisdom and thinking, and has no tendency to become a resentful spirit at all.

The death knight looked back and saw that the little noble soul riding on the skeleton horse had hooked up with two bored noble ladies. The guy was holding the horse and carrying the two yelling noble ladies, heading towards the ruins.

Walking past the hotel, it was obvious that he had some evil intentions.

Tyrion had never seen such active ghosts. From them, Tyrion saw a new possibility possessed by the undead... There was a power that protected them, influenced them, and helped them.

Get rid of the emptiness and torture of death.

The answers to all these are buried in the mage tower in front of them, and the death knight is a little eager to try.

He himself may not have felt it, but after getting close to the mage tower, his calm and almost cold soul became active.

"Whoa whoa whoa whoa"

With the sound of chains and mechanisms, the door of the mage tower slowly opened in front of them. This scene quickly silenced the chattering chatter of the nobles. The next moment, a man wearing a gorgeous butler robe with Medivh's raven on his chest appeared.

emblem, but the butler who had completely decayed all over his body walked out with solemn steps. Blue flames danced in his eyes. He glanced at the guests who had been waiting for a long time. He coughed lightly and used the hoarse voice of the undead.

explain:

"Welcome all distinguished guests. Mr. Medivh is not feeling well, so I will escort you into Karazhan. The grand banquet has been prepared. We have also invited the most famous opera troupe in the Kingdom of Stormwind to perform for you... Now,

Please come with me."

The nobles followed the steward with a hint of reserve and walked into the wizard's tower. Tyrion was among them, but the moment he stepped into the door, a dark figure blocked his face.

The undead butler who was still very calm now had red light dancing in his eyes, and two daggers, one long and one short, were pressed against Tyrion's neck.

Behind him, accompanied by the neighing of the war horses and the screams of the nobles, a knight in black heavy armor rushed out from the stable on the other side, waving a long sword in his hand, and brought several undead with him.

The cavalry stood in front of Tyrion.

"This uninvited guest...please leave! You don't belong here!"

"You are not welcome to the party of the dead!"
