The battle was adapted from Neverwinter Nights II. In the first scene, I obviously put some slack in order to take care of the novice AO in the group... Well, I used the genre of a novel when writing the battle report. I hope you all like it~~~~~
…………
The heroes sung in epic poems often do not all have a legendary beginning...
And today, the starting point of our ordinary story comes from here - Sihanoukville, a small town that was just rebuilt after the plague.
This is an autumn without any characteristics. Many years have passed since the war between Neverwinter City and Luskan. The harvest celebration has been put on the agenda. The shadows of the past may have long been forgotten by mortals. And through the business opportunities of the festival
, the caravan of the Iron Throne Merchant Guild, preparing to head to Neverwinter City, stopped here temporarily.
Yes, the caravan, and its guards.
On this special day, the hotel provided delicious food - barbecue, ale, and almost all the delicacies you can imagine. The crowds who gathered the night before caroused all night long, and even in the early morning of the next day, there seemed to be a strong smell in the air.
A strong festive atmosphere.
That night, everyone slept soundly, and everything seemed peaceful and orderly...
Eudine sat on the edge of the bed, concentrating on polishing his crossbow. The string of the crossbow was shining, and the edge of the crossbow emitted a soft light.
The dark eyes of this little halfling were focused on the movements of his hands. His black hair reflected the morning light, his skin was light yellow, and his limbs were agile and powerful. He was wearing an exquisite chainmail shirt, and the surface of the armor was glowing like stars.
With the dim light, a discerning person can spot the expensive mithril material at a glance.
The thin sword is worn on a girdle at the waist, and the workmanship is amazingly fine.
He is a guard of the Iron Throne caravan. As for his past, perhaps no one else knows yet.
He kept this action for a while, until the sky turned pale in the early morning——
Udian sniffed, and there seemed to be a burning smell in the air. He frowned, and there was a sudden noise outside the window.
Be alert! The halfling grasped the crossbow tightly and carefully strung it with his other hand.
The door to the room was slammed open.
"Gather in the hall on the first floor, Udian!" A paladin wearing a wide-brimmed hood shouted standing behind the door. A few strands of gray-white hair slid out of the brim of the knight's white cheeks. He had
A pair of amber eyes.
He gestured to the halfling. The cold iron warhammer on his waist jingled against the mixed iron armor. The emblem of the goddess of love, Suna, was printed on his left chest. His other hand held the thick eagle-shaped steel steadily.
The shield has an image of a beautiful woman with flaming hair painted on it.
Udian breathed a sigh of relief, put down the crossbow in his hand, and nodded.
This is the captain of their guards—Amber Liuguang.
…
Liya arranged her long dark green hair with her slender fingers. When the elf mage walked down the stairs calmly, the hall was already in chaos. She looked at the panicked crowd with her purple eyes.
I quickly noticed that all my 'colleagues' had arrived.
The last one again... The elf mage sighed in his heart.
She touched the elven longbow hidden under her cloak, and then checked the rapier hanging on the clasp to make sure that the weapon that could protect her besides the 'spell' was still on her.
Not far away from her, the warrior Dodoro was trying his best to keep his longbow among the panicked crowd - the cute dwarf shouted, blowing his beard and staring, but unfortunately the people around him didn't seem to have the habit of looking down.
The dwarf held down the high-quality composite longbow with two short, thick, iron-gloved hands, and then used his entire body to protect it. The heavy ax and steel shield covered with simple patterns were carried on his back.
on it, holding down the cloak; and the cloak covers the stunningly beautiful enchanted breastplate - with a bear emblem etched on the chest.
Dudolo is a powerful warrior, but surprisingly he is also an expert with a bow - no less skilled than a forest elf.
Monita sat indifferently next to the dwarf. This human girl was taciturn and exuded a cold and dangerous aura. She just sat there quietly, as if everything in the world around her had nothing to do with her.
Monita is a pure-blooded sorcerer, and rumors about her stunning beauty are more or less spread among the team... But the thorny rose covered herself completely with a large black cloak, leaving only a pair of
Eye……
A pair of blood-colored, indifferent eyes, showing vicissitudes of life and bloodthirsty; deep in the eyes, there is a fleeting shadow...
Her pale and slender left hand was placed on the table, stroking her toad, and a ring with a rose and thorn pattern on her middle finger was shining brightly.
Monita seemed to realize that she was being watched, and she raised her head indifferently.
Liya shrank her head and shuddered quietly. She managed to straighten her long hair with great difficulty, and her purple eyes avoided the frightening girl without any trace.
"What happened! Who knows?" Namo, their pastor, shouted from the north side of the hall.
This is an eccentric and amiable human being, the most loyal servant and praiser of the God of Knowledge. He has soft black hair, equally black eyes that reveal gentleness, and a wheat-colored complexion that symbolizes health. He is strong and powerful, with slender limbs.
He wore a somewhat frayed chain mail shirt, with the holy symbol of the God of Knowledge pinned to his chest. Two hammers, one light and one heavy, were hung on his waist. A heavy wooden shield was buckled on the other side - and a frightening heavy crossbow.
.
Sovent stood next to the priest. This rare sun elf scanned the panicked travelers around him with his blue eyes. He stared at the expressions of these people deliberately and intently, and a faint smile appeared on his thin lips from time to time.
.
The chain mail shirt of the same style as the priest shone in the sun, the silver dagger and rapier complemented each other, the elven composite bow spanned the back, and then a long cloak covered these murderous weapons.
He rubbed his broken hair with his slender fingers, and his coffee-grey hair color also made him look a little different. His fingertips were sharp and thin, and his knuckles were slender, just like the dexterous hands of an artist.
Just as not many people know what his profession is, where he comes from, what he has experienced, and what he has... I am afraid not many people know his full name: Sovente Russ.
For a moment, the sun elf's gaze swept across Yu Di'an, who was located on the south side of the hotel entrance.
Another burst of noise came from outside the hotel door, and it seemed to be mixed with the sound of explosion...
The panicked crowd in the hotel cleared away in a matter of seconds, and the hall became clear, as if the previous chaos had never existed at all.
Dudolo finally breathed a sigh of relief. The dwarf put his feet up and stretched his head to look out the window, but unfortunately it didn't work - he thought the window seemed to be built a little higher.
Monita remained indifferent as usual. She stood up quietly and looked around coldly.
Amber noticed that the burnt smell in the air seemed to be getting stronger and the situation was getting worse. He swung his cloak, turned over and rode on the underground lizard - this kind of lizard is designed to allow knights to charge in a small space.
Famous——He took off the silver-refined spear hanging on the saddle and held it tightly in his hand.
The dwarf sniffed and muttered in a low voice: "Uh, it's burnt. I think we ate too much at the barbecue yesterday."
The noise outside the hotel was getting louder and louder, with faint screams and the muffled sound of metal tearing flesh apart...
The elf mage walked down the stairs. She leaned toward the window and tried to find the source of the sound.
Thorvent stared at the knight, "Captain?"
Amber looked calm. He nodded and walked to the elf: "What happened?" he asked while looking out.
"A monster is coming." Yu Di said calmly, and he was leaning against the south window.
Na Wu moved closer to the others, seeming a little nervous. He stared at the wise mage and the calm knight. "Don't panic, everyone, follow the captain's arrangements!" he reminded loudly.
"It seems like a damn robber!" Amber, who had just approached the window, suddenly frowned tightly.
The town outside the hotel was already in chaos. Many villagers were crying and running away, and more of them had fallen into a pool of blood. A group of creatures with weapons broke through the defense lines and poured into the town. They were screaming and killing people everywhere.
Some set fires, while others broke into the house by breaking open the door and seemed to be rummaging for something.
The knight quickly recognized the goblins and kobolds among the monsters - but some of the monsters had weird spikes on their heads. Amber swore that he never recognized these terrifying creatures and had never seen them before.
"Fight or flight?" Sauvent asked with a smile, his unhurried tone was like asking what dessert to prepare for afternoon tea on a warm afternoon.
The cold light in the young and beautiful warlock's eyes flashed away.
"Damn you guys!" Dudolo moved a chair, and now he could finally see everything outside the window.
The elf mage thought about what those monsters with spikes on their heads were. She recalled some things she had learned, but soon shook her head in vain. The chaotic environment seemed to disrupt her thoughts.
"No matter what, everyone should be prepared to fight." She put aside these messy things in her mind and said calmly to the others.
Amber acquiesced. He raised his spear, looked at everyone, and solemnly said: "Everyone, get ready, those guys may attack us soon."
From the corner of his eye, the knight noticed a group of kobolds running towards the inn.
Thorvent retreated to the south and raised his longbow.
The knight moved to the priest and gestured to him, "Namo! Can you help tighten the belt on the back of the armor?"
Na Wu smiled and obeyed.
To be continued...
