Chapter 40 The Wizard

Lina and Thain's newly chosen home is located in the penultimate building of the apprentice dormitory complex.

The environment here is more secluded and more suitable for Thane and Lina to meditate or conduct magic experiments.

Including the dormitory rooms here, they are also larger than the one where Sean and his wife lived before.

In addition to a brand new and spacious experimental bench, the rooms here even have separate bathrooms.

The distribution of resources among the apprentices of the Black Magic Academy is extremely unbalanced.

Almost most of those entry-level apprentices live in a cramped dormitory with three or four people.

It was a smaller room than Thain's previous home, and there wasn't even an experimental bench in it. The interior space could only accommodate two bunk beds and a few clothes hangers.

As for the dormitory building that Thain and Lina chose, 60% of the upper floors of the building were occupied, and almost every floor was not occupied.

It is common here for one apprentice to occupy several rooms.

The room that Thain and Lina chose was on the fourth floor, which originally had only four households of apprentices.

Three of the households live alone, and the other household, like Thain and others, has two people living together.

In the penultimate apprentice dormitory building, half of the apprentices living here are intermediate apprentices and the other half are senior apprentices.

Senior apprentices occupy the fourth, fifth, and sixth floors, while most of the intermediate apprentices with good abilities are on the lower three floors.

When Thane and Lina chose the location of their new home, they also took into account their strengths and specific needs.

Also on the second day after the two of them moved into this building, an intermediate apprentice who was originally on the same floor as them consciously moved to the third floor.

There was no movement among the apprentices from the other three households, but as a few days passed, Thain also discovered something that shocked him.

"I noticed today that the two apprentices who live together are actually men!" Thain, who was preparing dinner, whispered to Lina, who was sitting at the table and reading a magic book.

"What's so strange about this? Haven't you seen similar situations in the past ten years in the Black Magic Academy?" Lina looked through the magic books with a normal expression, not surprised at all.

Gently chop the black shark scale fish in his hand, Thain smiled awkwardly: "I thought only those boring low-level apprentices like to do these things, but I didn't expect that even high-level apprentices..."

There are very few low-level apprentices in the academy who live beyond the age of 30, and many senior apprentices know this fact.

Some apprentices with extremely low talents were unable to reach the intermediate apprenticeship level until they were in their twenties. Knowing that their future was hopeless, they began to give up on themselves and rely on their own strength to do some bad things.

The bad atmosphere in the Black Magic Academy is indeed the result of those official black magicians letting it go, or even actively promoting it.

But it has to be said that these low-level apprentices with bad character have also exacerbated this situation.

As for those apprentices above the intermediate level, despite their character and temperament, they are also extremely cold and ruthless.

But at least it is possible to explore the truth and the mysteries of the elements. After devoting most of his energy to magic research and academy tasks, he really doesn't have much time to bully those weak apprentices.

Thain's reply made Lina close the magic book in her hand.

She walked up to Thain, and while doing her best to help Thain with the dinner, she said casually: "There are also special types among senior apprentices, and the two guys who live together next door are not simple either."

"That intermediate apprentice Mali has won academy awards twice in a row and is the favorite to be promoted to senior apprentice."

"As for the other senior apprentice Statham, despite his stupid appearance, he has actually mastered several extremely rare and special bloodline magics."

"If it weren't for his bad brain, he would have a place among the top senior apprentices." Lina said while helping Thain handle the black shark scale fish.

Lina has indeed changed a lot since Thane returned from his last academy mission and was injured.

At least before this, Lena had never helped Thain with a dinner like this.

It's not that she doesn't want to, it's that she doesn't know how.

Lina's clumsy technique caused many fish scales to stick to her arms.

I really don’t know how such a woman who doesn’t even know how to handle housework can master so much advanced magic knowledge.

A sumptuous and heart-warming dinner was completed with the combined efforts of the two of them.

Sitting in front of the large dining table, the conversation between Thane and Lina did not have many traces of ordinary people's daily life, but was full of the atmosphere when magicians get along. For example, after briefly discussing a few of their neighbors

While eating fish, Thane and Lina talked about some of the problems they encountered recently during experiments and magic learning.

Thain mentioned his recent insights and gains in the field of alchemy.

Although Lina was not distracted from studying alchemy, as a senior apprentice, she still had something in common with Thane in this regard.

After Thain finished talking about his current situation, Lina, who rarely spoke before, also mentioned the magic book she was reading recently.

The magic book Lina recently saw was called "Anchor Annotations" and it was one of the few books given to him by Master Thain.

This is a magic notebook casually written by an official magician named Anda. It also records the spell model and related knowledge of an intermediate magic - "Object Control".

Thain originally thought that the greatest function of "Anchor Annotations" was the intermediate magic in it. Presumably, this was also the purpose of his mentor Mosheduo giving him this magic notebook.

But what Thain didn't expect was that when Lina looked through this magic book, in addition to learning the intermediate magic of object control recorded in it, she also read something else.

"According to the information revealed in this magic book, the official magician, Master Anko, is a wizard."

"Including this book, it is also introduced that magicians in the wizarding world are actually divided into many professions. In addition to wizards, there are also: summoners, necromancers, elementalists, blood warlocks, etc."

"In each line of magic profession, there are many branches."

"For example, we can now be called fire elemental masters among elemental masters." Lina said.

Lina's introduction really made Thain feel enlightened and curious.

He has almost mastered the two intermediate magics of Fire Wall and Flame Hands during this period, and it is time to dabble in object control.

In addition to learning the art of object control, he will also study the magic book "Anchor Annotations" carefully after being reminded and suggested by Lina.

This sumptuous and warm dinner was spent amidst the conversation between the two magic apprentices.

This is an ordinary day, and it is also an ordinary day recording the life of Thane Academy of Dark Arts.
