On August 12, 2012, my first official novel, Mysterious Tales, was released. It has been exactly ten years since today.
On the tenth anniversary of writing a book, I thought for a while and realized that as a writer, I have to write something and look back on it.
I first came into contact with online literature, probably in the first grade of junior high school. My dad brought a book from a bookstall, a book called Ancient Chinese Literature, and then bought a mobile phone and went to an Internet cafe to download various online novels.
"Underworld Students", "Infinite Horror", "Star Transformation", "Jiudingji" and various online game texts.
Later, I wanted to try my hand at writing, so I wrote a dozen novels of 10,000 to 20,000 words, but of course I couldn't even meet the contract signing threshold.
At that time, I thought that maybe the online writing profession was not suitable for me.
Later, by chance, because I like to play Tieba, I casually wrote a story and posted it on Tieba.
Unexpectedly, it became popular.
The name of the post is "Caught ghosts, killed monsters, loved zombies...".
After being posted on the home page of Tieba, the various readers who came out encouraged me to continue writing this story.
This book was my first real book, "Supernatural Stories", when I was 17 years old.
When I was 17 years old, I went out to attend the annual meeting of 17K Novel Network.
I stayed in a five-star hotel for the first time in my life.
Went to the Forbidden City, Chang'an Street, and took photos everywhere.
During the annual party, I was chatting with a few friends at the door of the drunkard who lived next door. When I saw the drunkard going out, I quickly stepped forward and asked for a photo. I was very happy.
Just when I thought I was going to have smooth sailing, the results of my second book, "Hundred Ghosts in the Night", were not as good as expected.
It just so happened that Chuangshi was established and there was a shortage of authors at that time, so I went there with the mentality of giving it a try.
I finished writing "Mr. Yin Yang" and the result was better than I expected.
Then, I was invited to the 2014 Tencent Literature Summit. This time I saw more big bosses, some legendary figures who I had read online.
I also wrote four books on Creation, and the orders for all four books exceeded 10,000 yuan, and the order books for two books were close to 20,000 yuan each.
I made some money and made many friends.
In 2017, I received a notice to study at Lu Xun Institute of Literature. There is another interesting story here.
I especially like Feitian and Daojun, they are completely obsessed with them, just like Qianchou and me.
I went to call him idol, but he thought it was a joke...
At the beginning, I had a serious chat with Lao Yue and a few friends about my experience in writing novels. We chatted for a long time in the courtyard of Luyuan, under the skin of mosquitoes.
I have been in the industry for so long and I have never had such a conversation.
In 2018, my Urban Onmyoji was launched, with an initial order of 12,000, which is my best result so far.
When I put it on the shelf, I also received a notice that I was selected as a representative of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. During that time, I had to update the new book and attend conferences, so I could only sleep for three or four hours.
The first time I went to Tiananmen, I was ignorant. The second time I went to Tiananmen, I went to a meeting in the Great Hall of the People, and I was filled with emotions.
Suddenly looking back, it has been ten years, from a newcomer entering the industry to a seasoned veteran.
Looking back on the past ten years, I have gone from a dumb young man with nothing to a young man with a loving wife and lovely children.
In these ten years, there have been gains and regrets.
Thanks to the readers who have followed along, and to all the friends I have met in the past ten years.
