Chapter 102 G'huun's Whispers

Zuldazar and Nazmir are separated by a wide river that flows into the sea.

In order to defend against those crazy blood trolls, Zandalari built a camp called Zulgar at the junction of the two places, where a large number of elite Zandalari soldiers were stationed.

The pterodactyl knights were still circling high in the sky and looking down, trying to find the intruders who dared to break into Dazar'alor and commit crimes.

Thinking of all the strange legends about Nazmir, these flying knights did not dare to cross the line at will.

Sharlayan felt very frustrated by blindly running away. This sneaky action style was not in line with his character.

However, considering that the purpose of Orfa's test was most likely related to his mother Inas, Sarlayan could only suppress his inner irritability and continue to travel through the lush tropical jungles of the Zandalari Islands.

Crossing the Zulgar River, Sharlayan officially entered Nazmir. The climate and scenery here are very different from the beautiful Zuldazar region.

Nazmir is a swampy area, as rich in water and vapor as the wetlands Sarlayan once visited.

The towering trees blocked a lot of sunlight, and coupled with the mist that often filled the entire swamp, visibility in Nazmir was very limited even in broad daylight.

According to the information provided by the barrage, Nazmir was once the origin of the troll race.

Due to a sudden blood epidemic, a large number of trolls died of disease.

But what horrified the trolls was that the corpses of their relatives that they had buried in the soil actually emerged from the ground soon after. This zombie launched a mad attack on all living people, and anyone whose skin they scratched would be quickly assimilated.

Zul Nazman, the early capital of the trolls, was completely destroyed by the blood plague. Most of the surviving trolls moved northward under the leadership of a Nazmani named Dasa.

Dazar was the first king of the Zandalari Empire. It was he who signed a contract with Raizan, the devil dragon god. With the help of many Loa, he fought his way out and finally built a majestic new empire in the Zuldazar area.

Capital - Dazar'alor.

The trolls that were corrupted by the blood plague continued to stay in Nazmir and gradually evolved into the current blood trolls.

Unlike the Zandalari trolls, who have vigorously developed magic and technology, the blood trolls still retain their original matriarchal social customs.

They didn't have any technological means, and only relied on their weird blood magic to prevent Zandalari from invading easily.

The Zandalari god-kings throughout the ages have always wanted to regain Nazmir, the place where the trolls originated, but they have never been able to do so due to various reasons.

As soon as he stepped into the realm of Nazmir, Sharlayan immediately felt something was wrong. Something invisible and intangible was gently scratching his soul, and incomprehensible fragments of whispers began to echo in his ears.

Sharlayan: "What the hell is this?"

[The whispers of the ancient gods, don’t try to interpret the content of these words. The deeper you understand, the greater the possibility of being corrupted by the ancient gods. 】

"Ancient God..."

Sarlayan's leopard face showed a humane and serious expression: "No wonder the powerful Zandalari Empire has never been able to regain Nazmir at its doorstep. It turns out there is such a hidden secret behind it."

After being influenced by the barrage, Sarlayan has a deeper understanding of the existence of the ancient gods.

Simply put, the Old Gods are Azeroth's parasite, the planet's cancer.

Because their tentacles are buried deep under the earth and are symbiotic with the planet to a certain extent, the Old Gods are difficult to kill.

Even if he suffers a fatal injury, the Ancient God can hide deep in the earth and gradually recover.

The only way to kill them is to sever the connection between the Old Gods and the planet.

It is said that the Titan Aman'Thul, the father of the gods, once tried to force Y'Shaarj, the thousand-headed demon among the ancient gods of Azeroth, out of the ground.

Although Aman'Thul successfully killed Y'Shaarj, it also caused huge damage to Azeroth, and the planet's essence gushes out from the wound.

With the cooperation of the Titans, the wound caused by pulling out Y'Shaarj was repaired, but this left a scar filled with the essence of the planet - the Well of Eternity.

The Old Gods of Nazmir are not truly native Old Gods.

In order to gain a deeper understanding of the Old God, a parasite on the void side, the Titans established a laboratory called Uldir in Nazmir in ancient times to conduct in-depth research on the structure of the Old God and simulate an artificial Old God.

They hope that the guardians of Azeroth they left behind can learn about the weaknesses of the ancient gods through this experimental individual named G'huun, so that they can deal with the remnants of the Dark Empire in a more targeted manner.

The Titans have good ideas. If they continue their research, sooner or later they will be able to solve the problem of the symbiosis between the ancient gods and the planet.

But something unexpected happened, and the once prosperous Pantheon was suddenly overturned by the bronze titan Sargeras who betrayed his compatriots.

All the Titans were killed by Sargeras, and only their souls escaped under the protection of Norgannon.

Without the constraints of the Titans, the Guardians dare not restart Uldir at will.

They built three pyramids to seal the entire laboratory, and left many natural spirits to help guard it.

These natural spirits are the many Loa on the Zandalar Islands today, and the three pyramids are scattered in the three main areas of the Zandalar Islands.

The first seal of Nazwatha was located in Nazmir. It was broken by the blood trolls many years ago and stopped functioning.

The second seal, Atul Aman, was built in the center of the tropical jungle in the west of Nazmir. This place is called Wo'ton by the local indigenous people and is guarded by the snake god Setalis.

Thousands of years ago, a servant of the ancient god N'Zoth landed on the Zandalar Islands, trying to corrupt the Zandalari trolls and make them serve his master.

But before the unlucky man could start his plan, Uldir's defense mechanism was triggered, and a large number of Titan creations poured out of the pyramid.

The mighty titan-creators tore the servant of the Old God into pieces and stored its remains in the archives of Uldir.

Although the unlucky vanguard died before the attack, N'zoth discovered important clues through its tragic experience.

Artificial Old God, G'huun

He sent one of the few Xeraki under his command to try to release G'huun, who was sealed in Uldir by the Titan Guardians, in order to completely corrupt the Zandalari trolls and bring peace to Azeroth.

More suffering to come.

Contrary to N'Zoth's expectation, G'huun took control of Xeraki named Misraks, and he sincerely accepted G'huun as his new master.

In order to release his master G'huun from Odir, Mislax led his men deep into the Vodun Jungle in an attempt to destroy the second seal, Atuaman.

The snake god Setaris and Mythrax launched a protracted battle, but unfortunately they were ultimately unable to defeat Xeraki and were no match for him.

Before dying, the seriously injured Setalis detonated the power of the Titans contained in the Pyramid of Atuaman, and died together with Misrakis.

The out-of-control power that erupted swept across the entire Wharton, turning this lush tropical jungle into a lifeless desert, and the second seal was shattered.

Today, among the three seal pyramids, only the third seal, Zuldazar, is still functioning normally.

This pyramid is located at the highest point of Dazar'alor, the capital of Zandalari, and is carefully guarded as a holy place of Zandalari.

With the two seals broken and G'huun greatly loosened, he can already affect reality to a certain extent. This is why Sarlayan can hear whispers after entering Nazmir.

"This place is too dangerous."

Sharlayan shook his head, forcing himself to ignore the whispers of those charming minds.

"Complete the test and leave here as soon as possible. I don't want to be brainwashed by the ancient gods."

"Aha~ Mortal, I found you!"

Just when Sarlayan was slightly distracted, a sharp voice came from the jungle beside him.

"who?!"

Subconsciously jumping back a few meters, Sarlayan leaned down and bared his fangs, looking at the place where the sound came from vigilantly.

"Shua~"

A petite red dinosaur jumped out of the forest, tilting its head and looking curiously at Sarlayan, whose face was full of vigilance.

"Are you the mortal that Bwonsamdi likes? Hmm... interesting, you are obviously a mortal but you have such a powerful vitality."

The red Lesognathus, which was only half a human tall, raised its head proudly: "Mortal, the great Lord Garni gives you a chance to change your ways."

"Give up Bwonsamdi and trust me instead. Lord Garni can forget the past and forgive your crimes."

'Gani?'

There was a look of surprise in Sarlayan's eyes, but his body slowly retreated backwards.

"I'm sorry, I only believe in myself and will not offer my faith to any existence, including Bwonsamdi."

"Whoosh!"

Taking advantage of the look of astonishment on Garni's dragon's face, Sarlayan seized the opportunity to eject and disappeared into the dense jungle in a few leaps.

"Oh~" Gani looked thoughtfully at Sarlayan's disappearing back: "Without belief in Bwonsamdi? That would be even more interesting."

"That guy who doesn't see rabbits and doesn't let go of hawks, why on earth would he not hesitate to offend Laizan to help you?"
