Chapter 7 Halduron: Use your brains!

It's not that Halduron doesn't trust Sharlayan.

Sources of information such as refugees are inherently unreliable, and the information they provide is likely to be embellished out of fear.

After the orc army broke through the defenses of Quel'Thalas, Vereesa, who had been staying in Windwalk Village to teach her younger brother, immediately realized that they were isolated.

She immediately judged the direction of the situation based on the intelligence currently obtained, and speculated that the orcs should be marching all the way to Silvermoon City.

The Windrunner family territory located in the southwest of Yongsong Forest is far away from the center of the battlefield. If you continue to stay, it will be difficult to obtain more information, and you may be defeated by the enemy one by one because of the division of troops.

The current head of the Windrunner family, Leresa, is leading the ranger troops to attack the orcs through guerrilla warfare in the northern part of the forest. The family's second daughter, Sylvanas, is also following, while the eldest daughter, Alleria, is leading the army and has not yet returned.

In this case, the decision of the third daughter Vereesa was related to the future of the entire family, not to mention that the family's most beloved younger brother was still with her. She did not dare to bet that the tribe would not attack Fengxing Village.

After mobilizing the retired rangers from the Windrunner territory to get re-employed, she led this small team to escort non-combatants from the Windrunner village through the mountains and forests.

Relying on their understanding of the terrain, this team avoided the areas where orcs and trolls were active, and climbed through Sunmark Peak to successfully reach the Farstrider camp and meet Halduron.

The non-combatants in Windwalker Village stayed in the Farstrider camp to take refuge.

Vereesa left most of her troops in the camp to protect her people. She volunteered to go to the ruins of Corona Village, which had been destroyed by the war, and tried to get in touch with the ranger troops still fighting in the northern part of the forest.

"If the main force of the Amani trolls really goes north, Vereesa, who is stationed in Corona Village and is trying to communicate with the northern part of the forest, will definitely find out."

Halduron waved to the side, and a handsome elf ranger with a youthful face immediately jogged to his side.

"Commander Halduron, please give the order!"

This young elf, who was immediately known to be a new recruit, was Lylas Windrunner, the only direct male member of the Windrunner family, and one of Sarlayan's friends.

Being completely separated from the care of his mother and sisters for the first time, Lilas was excited but also a little uneasy.

Now is the time to employ people. Although Lylas is as incompetent in battle as Sarlayan, he has received strict training from the Windrunner family. There is no need to doubt his ranger skills. What he lacks is actual combat experience.

"Lilas, some translations seem to also call it Lilas?"

"I remember that this handsome young man with a youthful face seemed to have died in this war in the original history, right?"

"Not only him, Lireza, the mother of the three Windrunner sisters, will also die in this war, but I don't know if that scene has happened yet."

Sarlayan frowned when he saw this barrage.

"Liras and Leleza will die?"

If it were before the war with the orcs, Sarlayan would never believe such lies.

Leleza is a ranger general with extremely rich experience in combat and command, a true legendary ranger.

For more than a thousand years, the Amani trolls have been suppressed in Zul'Aman, and Leleza played an important role in it. Even Zul'jin was captured by her.

Having witnessed the tyrannical strength of the orcs with his own eyes, Sarlayan could not guarantee that Lileza would survive the cruel war.

Zul'jin, Orgrim, Cho'gall and Gul'dan, these four well-known tribes' top combat powers are all legendary combat professions, not to mention that there are some temporarily less famous ones in the tribe's camp.

Hidden master.

Although Lireza is powerful, she cannot survive alone.

There is nothing we can do about it, the real core combat power of the high elves is all concentrated in Silvermoon City.

Another powerful legendary ranger, Alleria, is out fighting. Apart from her second daughter, Sylvanas, who is always with her, Lireza doesn't have many people she can use.

The Ranger Force is responsible for guarding the Forest of Eversong. Sarlayan has little contact with Lileza, who is busy with official duties. The only few times they meet are because of Lilas.

In his impression, Liresa was a beautiful woman with a strong aura and a serious personality.

Her love for Lilas can be seen in her eyes, but due to her personality, she did not express this maternal love intuitively.

Halduron's next words interrupted Sharlayan's distraction.

"The situation is urgent. Even if Vereesa complains, there is nothing we can do."

Halduron solemnly told Sarlayan: "Vereesa is guerrilla behind enemy lines, and she will definitely not expose her position openly."

"If you want to find her, you can only use the Windrunner family's unique contact method, so Lilas will follow you."

Halduron gently patted the two of them on the head, and said earnestly: "This is the first time for you two little guys to carry out such an important mission, so be careful."

"Salayan, don't let yourself be carried away by your enthusiasm. You have to think more about everything."

"Lylas, your personality is more cautious. I hope you and Sarlayan can complement each other in this mission."

To put it nicely, it is prudent.

In Sarlayan's view, due to living under the meticulous care and pampering of his mother and sisters for a long time, Lylas's character is somewhat weak and lacks independent opinions.

At critical moments, it is always difficult for him to make up his own mind and he will subconsciously seek help from those around him.

After the two got acquainted, Lyras's soft character improved after repeated corrections from the tough-minded Sarlayan.

If it were Lilas, who had a weaker personality before, he might not have been able to muster the courage to risk his way through the forest, and would most likely choose to stay in Fengxing Village and wait for the war to end.

"666! The historical divergence point has been found!"

"It turns out that this is how Lylas avoided the fate of death. Sarlayan's merits are immeasurable."

"Can I use this credit to stick with Sylvanas and Vereesa? (Funny)"

"Excuse me, the three Windrunner sisters and Sharlayan are very different in age and experience. They would be almost the same if they were born hundreds of years earlier."

"Didn't Sarlayan mention it? Alleria, who is rebellious by nature, has a similar spirit with him and treats him as his biological brother who is not related by blood."

"Sylvanas will leave it alone, Vereesa... I think we can still work harder."

Sarlayan ignored those angry barrages, looked at each other with the shy Lylas, and solemnly made a promise to Halduron.

"I will try my best to control my temper and ensure that I complete the task."

Halduron sighed with a complicated expression: "If it wasn't a last resort, I really don't want to send you two young people to take charge of such an important task."

Halduron's eyes flickered a little, as if he was conveying some kind of message to Sharlayan with his eyes.

"Salayan, why is this mission necessary for you? You can think about it carefully on the way."

"The answer will be revealed after you arrive at Corona Village and contact Vereesa. This is also a task I left for you on behalf of Alleria, so use your brain more."

Sarlayan: "?"

"The reason has to be me..."

Two light-footed chocobos ran quickly along the west shore of Lake Arendal. Sarai sat firmly on the back of the bird, scratching his head and ears in distress.

In peacetime, from this location, you can see across the lake to Sarlayan's home on the other side of the lake - Deep Shadow Manor.

Unfortunately, the orcs burned the forest all the way to Silvermoon City in order to reduce the losses from sneak attacks by the ranger troops hiding in the forest along the way.

To this day, the acrid thick smoke still floats over Yonge Forest, and the clear lake surface is also shrouded in smoke, making it difficult to observe the scenery on the other side.

In barrage terms, Lyras, who has a weak temperament, is like a weak little puppy following Juelun Gong.

Some women who like to make some CPs have been crowing in the barrage for a while, and Sarlayan selectively ignored those disgusting remarks.

After holding his hair and thinking for a long time, Sarlayan still failed to realize the depth of Halduron's meaning. He turned around helplessly and asked Lyras beside him for help.

"Lyras, do you have any idea?"

"Hmm...ah?"

Lilas had never seen Sarlayan without makeup before.

He had secretly imagined that underneath Sarlayan's beard was a rough and tough uncle's face.

But the reality was quite different from what he imagined.

After coming back to his senses and hearing his friend's question clearly, Lilas lowered his head thoughtfully and thought.

"First of all, we can rule out something."

In Sarlayan's eyes, Lilas said without mercy: "It's definitely not because of your strength."

"Don't glare at me. It's important to know yourself. We are all just new recruits now. I don't think a veteran ranger like Halduron will make random decisions at this juncture."

"It has nothing to do with strength, considering my relationship with Vereesa... connections?"

"Uh~"

At Lilas's reminder, Sarlayan suddenly thought of something, and the corner of his mouth twitched violently.

Someone's shadow flashed in his mind so fast that he couldn't tell whether it was a man or a woman, a human or a ghost.

"...I seem to have guessed the reason. It turns out that Old Buxiu of Halduron had this idea."
