Chapter 999 Rebuilding the Three Hammers Council?

Ever since the Dark Iron dwarves escaped from the enslavement of the fire element, Dark Iron King Dagran Thaurissan and Queen Moira have been looking for opportunities to reintegrate into Azeroth.

The high elves who helped the Dark Iron dwarves regain their freedom are undoubtedly the best matchmakers.

Unfortunately, the territory of the Dark Iron Dwarves is located in the Searing Canyon and Burning Plains in the south-central part of the Eastern Kingdom, and is thousands of miles away from Quel'Thalas, which is far away in the northern border of the Eastern Continent.

Moreover, both areas are deep inland and cannot be reached by sea.

Since the Dark Iron dwarves have not yet formally reconciled with the Bronzebeard and Wildhammer dwarves, Quel'Thalas cannot blatantly cross the territory of the Kingdom of Khaz Modan to establish trade routes with the Dark Iron dwarves.

The two resurgent masters of the Dark Iron Kingdom, Dagran Thaurissan and Moira, both intend to change the status quo.

It's a pity that Moira was too decisive when she left Ironforge, and now it's hard to shame her father into submission.

Sarlayan also received a letter from Unicorn City in the past day or two.

The Dark Iron King and Queen commissioned him to test the tone of the Wildhammer and Bronzebeard dwarf tribes to see if they could facilitate a formal peace conference between the three dwarf tribes.

After the death of Anvilmar, the King of the Mountains, the three major dwarf tribes launched a civil war recorded in history books, known as the War of the Three Hammers.

The result of this war was that the Dark Iron Dwarves were severely defeated. Both Emperor Thaurissan and Queen Modgud were killed on the battlefield, and they also found themselves a slave master who was not easy to serve.

Although the Wildhammer dwarves lost their capital city of Grim Batol, they had a blessing in disguise during their migration. They were lucky enough to get to know the griffins of Eagle's Nest Mountain, and developed the Wildhammer griffin knights who later became famous throughout Azeroth.

The Bronzebeard dwarves who guarded Ironforge were the biggest winners in the War of the Three Hammers. Madoran Bronzebeard, the father of the three Bronzebeard brothers, took the throne from the descendants of Anvilmar and passed it on to him before his death.

The eldest son Magni.

The Bronzebeard family's stable rule over the Kingdom of Khaz Modan lasted for more than 200 years, and their position has been firmly established to this day.

The Wildhammer dwarves have embarked on their own unique development path over the past 200 years, and they no longer care much about the throne of Khaz Modan, which they had fiercely fought with Bronzebeard and Dark Iron.

But the Dark Iron Dwarves still can't let go of this obsession. Dagran Thaurissan and Moira hope to restart the Three Hammers parliamentary system of the year, so that representatives of the three major tribes can jointly govern Ironforge in a parliamentary system.

.

When the representatives of the Wildhammer and Bronzebeard clans respectively read the contents of the document carved on the stone slab by the Dark Iron dwarves, the expressions of the two representatives changed in different ways.

The Wildhammer dwarves were noncommittal to the Dark Iron dwarves' proposal. It would be gratifying if the Council of Three Hammers succeeded, but it didn't matter if it failed. The worst they could do was continue to live a good life in the Hinterlands.

The Bronzebeard representative's reaction was quite intense. If it wasn't for Sharlayan's sake, the hot-tempered dwarf would have jumped up and yelled at him on the spot.

Think about it, the Bronzebeard dwarves have been in charge of the throne of Khaz Modan for more than 200 years, and the Dark Iron dwarves just want to take away some of their power. How can it be so easy?

Seeing the Bronzebeard representative's blushing face and suppressing his anger, Sarlayan shrugged helplessly: "Don't be so excited. It's better to send the news of the Dark Iron Dwarves' intention to reconcile back to Ironforge first."

"For subsequent peace talks, you can send professional diplomats and the Dark Iron Dwarves to negotiate slowly."

"As for the Wildhammer Kingdom..."

Sarlayan turned his gaze to look at the Wildhammer representative, who was still there with the old god, looking like he was looking forward to a good show.

"Falstad also needs to know this news as soon as possible. The Wildhammer dwarves, who are relatively neutral, are trying to make peace. I believe that the negotiations between the three parties should finally get a good result."

Having said all that needed to be said, Sarlayan bid farewell to the two dwarf representatives knowingly and returned to Quel'Thalas' seat.

"How was it? Are they done talking?"

Valeela nodded and then shook her head: "The initial intention to resume trade has been reached. The subsequent detailed negotiations require diplomats from several parties to sit down and talk slowly. The results should not be reached in a day or two."

This situation played right into Calia's hands. Her purpose was to use sweet bait to attract the attention of the leaders of other human kingdoms, and ultimately lead to a real summit meeting to seriously discuss matters related to rebuilding the alliance with the kings.

At this point, the national congress has come to a successful conclusion, and all countries, including the host Lordaeron, have gained something from the meeting.

The dwarves of Gnomeregan, like Quel'Thalas, spent the entire meeting trying to make ends meet.

The Wildhammer dwarves and the Bronzebeard dwarves did not obtain any valuable gains from the content of the meeting itself. Instead, the black iron document that Sharlayan handed over to them caused a stir when it was transmitted back to the two countries.

As expected by Sarlayan, the acting Wildhammer Lord Falstad did not clearly state whether he supported the reconstruction of the Three Hammers Council. He seemed to be still hesitating whether to side with the Dark Iron dwarves on this matter for the sake of national and racial interests.

.

As for the Bronzebeard Dwarves...

The hot-tempered Magni immediately jumped out to express his firm opposition, and openly spoke out, ordering Thaurissan to release his daughter, otherwise he would let the Dark Iron dwarves who had lost the protection of the fire element know the power of the Kingdom of Khaz Modan.

.

Of course, Dagran Thaurissan could not relent, and the Dark Iron Dwarf and the Bronzebeard Dwarf started a war of words from afar.

Falstad, who was undecided, quickly stood up and called on both sides to exercise restraint. It would be best to find an opportunity for their respective diplomats to sit down and talk slowly, instead of sending troops to fight at every turn.

The Kingdom of Khaz Modan was also severely damaged in the Second Orc War. All its territory except Ironforge was plundered by the orcs. It was only in the past two years that it gradually recovered its strength.

Magni is actually just saying that. The local military conflicts with the Dark Iron Dwarves in the deserted land in the past few years have caused a considerable burden on the kingdom.

Muradin, who is still sitting on the front line, has repeatedly called for no more fighting. It is really time to sit down and have a good talk with the Dark Iron dwarves who have escaped from the slavery of the fire element.

This chapter is not over yet, please click on the next page to continue reading! Moreover, the ambiguous attitude of the Wildhammer dwarves also made Magni worried. He felt that the old boy Falstad seemed to be tempted by the Dark Iron dwarves' proposal.

At this juncture, Brian, who had been doing archaeological research all over the world, suddenly came back.

The thieves of Backlight Blade didn't find out what Brian said to Magni in private. They only knew that the two brothers had an unpleasant quarrel.

A few days after Calia's coronation ceremony and the subsequent congress, Sharlayan led a delegation to bid farewell to the Queen of Lordaeron who had officially ascended the throne, and teleported directly back to Silvermoon City to report on her duties.

After listening to Sharlayan's report on the results of his trip, Kael'thas happened to ask him about the Three Hammers Council, which had caused a lot of commotion among the three dwarf clans recently. It was supposed to be a moment of entertainment after his busy work.

"Brian..."

Speaking of the free and unrestrained Bronzebeard Prince, Sarlayan said with some emotion: "In terms of the overall situation, Brian, who focuses on the whole world, should be the best among the three Bronzebeard brothers."

"As the leader of the Bronzebeard clan, Magni naturally has to consider the interests of his clan. He obviously doesn't want to give up the established interests that the Bronzebeard dwarves already hold. This is understandable."

"Similarly, Muradin, who has great influence in the military, will also prioritize racial and national interests. He cannot focus on the overall situation like Bryan and say whatever he wants."

"I guess Brian was very careless in persuading Magni to agree to the reconstruction of the Three Hammers Council, and he got into a quarrel with Magni, who was already very angry recently, over this matter."

As the president of the Explorers Association, an international non-governmental organization, Brian is very indifferent to differences between races and countries. There are members of all races in the Explorers Association, including but not limited to dwarves, gnomes and humans.

The last time Sharlayan went to Uldaman to look for Azadas, he even saw a frost troll from an unknown clan digging hard along with his colleagues from the Explorers Association.

Kael'thas also had the opportunity to come into contact with Bryan when he was studying in Dalaran, and he very much agreed with Sharlayan's evaluation of Bryan.

"I don't know how this negotiation between the three tribes will end. The position of the Wildhammer dwarves seems to be a bit wavering."

Sarlayan smiled and nodded: "If the Three Hammers Council can be rebuilt, the Wildhammer clan can also get some power. Of course Falstad would be happy to see it happen."

"The reason why I haven't been able to make up my mind is because I don't want to offend the Bronzebeard tribe, which has finally eased the relationship, with this crucial statement."

"However... I think he will make a decision in favor of the Wildhammer clan in the end. There is a high probability that the Three Hammers Council will still be rebuilt, but the process will definitely not be so smooth."
