In the dark forest, two half-track motorcycles with no lights on, amidst the low roar of their engines, arrived in the dark at a hunter's cabin hidden in the forest.
When the car stopped, Wei Ran had already lost his bearings, but the wooden house built among four closely adjacent pine trees could be seen from the cracks in the door and window at the same time as the car stopped.
There was a faint light.
"Bring the things down and pile them all outside the cabin."
Captain Letts gave instructions in a low voice, then took out his cane, limped open the door and walked into the wooden house.
By the time Wei Ran began to move the ammunition boxes, a little light was already faintly revealed from the crack in the door of the wooden house.
Patiently, Wei Ran stacked the ammunition boxes he had worked so hard to transport on the platform outside the wooden house. He rubbed his almost frozen hands and cheeks before gently knocking on the wooden door.
"Come in." As Captain Letts spoke, the light from the crack in the door instantly dimmed a lot.
It was only then that Wei Ran opened the door and walked in, then immediately closed the door. At the same time, the lights in the room became much brighter, and the chirping sound became clearer.
Looking at the bright light, the only source of light and heat in this small wooden house is the US military gasoline stove burning on the table at the far end.
Of course, there is more than one table and stove in this room. There are also many boxes placed against the walls, and these boxes are also filled with various trophies.
Turning up the fire on the stove, Captain Letts took out a small notebook and a pen from his pocket, sat at the table and warmed his hands while saying, "Victor, I'll give you two minutes.
Take whatever you want yourself.”
Wei Ran was stunned when he heard this. Without thinking, he picked up a first aid kit used by US military medical soldiers and opened it. Although the core medicines such as morphine and dressings and gauze were gone, luckily the surgery
The equipment is still complete.
Putting it on the table, Wei Ran looked around and took out a blood-stained US military B5 winter flying cap, a B8 goggles and a pair of A10 flying gloves that are also standard equipment for US military pilots from a box.
If that medical kit is for emergencies, then this three-piece pilot suit is just needed. After all, driving in the dark in the coniferous forest at night, even if he is not worried about his head and hands being frozen, he will inevitably worry.
He was blinded by a branch.
Putting the flight cap on his head haphazardly, Wei Ran picked up a few extra 1911 magazines and put them into his pockets. When he saw that there was no camera in these boxes that he was thinking about, he immediately stopped.
"I thought you would choose those rings."
Captain Letts pointed to the two strings of gold and silver rings placed in the box closest to the table and the gold teeth pried out from the mouth of some unlucky child.
"I'm not that greedy." As Wei Ran spoke, he had already stuffed the US military's medical kit into his backpack.
"Remember to wear one of our steel helmets outside, otherwise you will be hit by our snipers."
After Captain Letts finished speaking, he picked up a bunch of gold rings and put them in his pocket. Then he unscrewed the pen and opened the book. "Okay, start registering for me. Start with the box closest to the door."
"Hold on"
Wei Ran hung the goggles around his neck, then stuffed his gloves into his pocket, then walked over to the first box and counted them before saying, "There are 16 pistols. What's the use of taking these pistols back?"
"It can be used as a gift. Those idiots who have never been on the battlefield will be happy to spend money to buy a trophy."
Letz explained nonchalantly while recording, "Next time, go faster."
"37 watches, 11 pocket watches, 9 compasses and a box of cigars." "Continue!"
With the two men registering in unison, all these valuable trophies were registered, and then under the command of Letz, they were concentrated into two ammunition boxes.
He really wants money... Wei Ran couldn't help but grin when he saw the other party blatantly put those gold teeth into his pocket.
Captain Letts, on the other hand, didn't seem to care about this kind of thing at all. Not only did he ask Wei Ran to carry two boxes full of loot to his half-track motorcycle and tie them with ropes, but even the one was still making a squeaking sound.
The gasoline stove was not spared, and after it was extinguished, it was put into the trailer.
Lighting a cigarette unhurriedly, Captain Letts once again refused Wei Ran's help, stubbornly sat in the cab alone, and left the wooden house in the dark.
Putting on the gloves and goggles he had just obtained, Wei Ran picked up the helmet that had been fastened to the headlight of the car and put it on, then started the car and followed.
However, what he didn't expect was that Captain Letts did not take him back to the fortress. Instead, after going around all the way, he actually drove out of the forest that turned into a battlefield!
What he didn't expect even more was that there was a truck waiting for them at the edge of the forest!
With the relatively bright moonlight, he could clearly see that there was a black shield-shaped logo on the door of this Opel Lightning truck. In the center of the shield-shaped logo, there was a white iron head logo.
This is not over yet. On the outside of the shield-shaped logo, the extremely conspicuous abbreviation "rad" is written in white paint. And in the center of the iron pattern inside the shield-shaped logo, the two indistinguishable words "rs" are written.
Qing is red or black in capital letters.
I am grateful to Professor Alexei for his careful teaching, and even more grateful to me for memorizing the illustrated book that Professor Alexei jokingly called "The Heraldry of Natalia" when I was in college.
So even though the moonlight was far less bright than the sun, he was still sure that the abbreviations "rs" must be red, just like he was extremely sure that this truck belonged to the National Labor Service Corps (Reiann).

The young man said hello in unison, but he didn't salute, he just stood up straight.
"Good boy, thank you for your hard work."
Captain Letts no longer looked serious or philistine at this time, and even his tone was extremely gentle. He even took out a pack of American Camel cigarettes and gave them to the two men who looked to be seventeen or eighteen years old at most.
Each of the young men got one.
"Not hard"
After the young man with the armband of the trainee leader took the cigarette, he took out a lighter and lit it, and then said excitedly, "Teacher Letts, let's load the truck now? In half an hour at most, the transportation team should be ready
coming."
Teacher? Teacher Letts?
Wei Ran stared at Captain Leitz in the other car with wide eyes in the night. He didn't expect that the other person was actually a teacher!
"Then I'll trouble you. They're all there. You can carry them up yourself. There are only two boxes in total this time."
Captain Letts raised his hand gently and pointed behind him. His slow tone made it difficult for Wei Ran to associate him with the serious balding old man from before.
"Leave it to us!"
Before the trainee squad leader finished speaking, he and his partner each picked up a heavy ammunition box and brought it into the cab. Then he called on Captain Letz and Wei Ran to drive their respective half-track motorcycles to the rear of the car.
With Wei Ran's active help, heavy wooden boxes were loaded into the tow truck. One of them even didn't forget to take out an oil drum and fill up their half-track motorcycles with fuel.
The other one used canvas to help them cover the loaded trailer, and carefully wrapped it back and forth several times with a rope.
"Be careful these days."
Letts warned before starting the motorcycle, "If something goes wrong, immediately..."
"Don't worry, teacher," the trainee monitor said confidently, "Nothing will happen to us."
Captain Letts nodded and patted the two of them on the shoulders solemnly, "See you in three days."
"See you in three days"
After saying that, the two young men got into the cargo box and continued to move the ammunition boxes one by one inside.
They came out and piled up under the pine trees at the edge of the forest. "Let's go too."
After Captain Letts finished speaking, regardless of whether Wei Ran responded or not, he turned around and drove the car deep into the forest.
When the two of them drove the half-track motorcycle back to the garage in the fortress, Wei Ran discovered that there were at least a hundred young people or old people over fifty, pushing bicycles or driving carriages away.
Fortress, there was a long queue rushing to the direction they had just gone.
Under Leitz's command, the guard covered the half-track motorcycle with a piece of canvas, and then followed him into the room with the sign "Community Office."
"Get up at half past three. You can do whatever you want before you get up, but if I fall asleep, don't wake me up, or I will tie you up in the stable."
Captain Letts said, first pointing to the clock hanging on the wall with his cane, and then gently tapping the bunk bed next to the wall opposite, "You sleep up there, and if you are hungry, go to the restaurant to find something to eat."
, I should still be able to catch up with dinner at this time. Also, if I find you secretly taking Pervitin, I will kill you with my own hands."
"Do you need me to bring you one?" Wei Ran asked politely, "I mean dinner."
"Today there should be pimple soup and roasted pork knuckle. Please help me get some more potato balls and bread."
While Captain Letts was talking, he had already sat down on his bunk. Could it be that he was still a Bavarian?
Wei Ran muttered to himself, turned around and walked out of the room, searched all the way to the restaurant, and ordered two identical meals.
However, when he walked into the munitions office again with the food in hand, Captain Letts, who was lying on the bed, was already snoring loudly.
