In the open space in front of the Enlightenment Tower.
Master Du'e placed the body of Kong Jian Shen Monk on the firewood, and then lit the firewood.
Later, Master Du'e sat on the ground, put his hands together on his chest, recited the Ksitigarbha Sutra, and prayed for the monk Kong Jian.
"Monk, have a good journey."
Ye Qiu stood aside, looking at the Kong Jian Divine Monk who was wrapped in blazing fire, and bent down and bowed.
The fire lasted for half an hour.
A surprising scene appeared.
I saw that the body of the holy monk was unharmed.
Ye Qiu said in shock: "He is indeed an eminent monk."
Master Du'e added some more firewood.
The fire burned for more than an hour, and Kong saw that the remains of the holy monk began to gradually turn into ashes.
Miraculously, during the cremation process, Kong Jian saw that the monk's body did not have the smell of burnt human body, but instead emitted a strange fragrance like sandalwood.
After the flame goes out,
Master Du'e took out a clay pot from the first floor of the Enlightenment Tower to collect the ashes of Kong Jian Shen Monk.
Sudden--
Master Du'e knelt down and worshiped the ashes of Kongjian Divine Monk, and shouted: "Congratulations, Master, for being honored in the land of bliss."
Ye Qiu noticed that at this moment, there was no sadness on Master Du'e's face, but rather some excitement.
Strange, what is Master so excited about?
At this moment, Master Du'e said: "Donor Ye, come here quickly, I'll let you see the magical thing."
Ye Qiu walked to Master Du'e's side.
Master Du'e gently opened up the ashes of Kongjian Divine Monk, and instantly, a white round bead appeared in Ye Qiu's sight.
This round bead is crystal clear, shining like a crystal.
Ye Qiu asked in confusion: "What is this?"
"Donor Ye, have you ever heard of relics?" Master Du'e asked.
"I've heard of it..." Ye Qiu said this and his eyes widened: "Master, is this the relic?"
Master Du'e smiled and nodded: "Yes, this is the relic."
Ye Qiu was shocked.
Relics, a transliteration of Sanskrit, usually refers to the remains of the Buddha, and are called Buddha bones and Buddha relics. According to legend, they were created by Sakyamuni, the founder of Buddhism.
After the death of Sakyamuni, his disciples discovered many colorful and crystal-clear relics as solid as jade from his ashes, which were respectfully called relics.
Later, these relics were distributed to famous temples around the world as temple treasures.
The Buddhist scriptures say that relics are obtained by a person through the practice of precepts, concentration, wisdom, and his own great vows. It is very rare and very precious.
Although there have been many relics from ancient times to the present, they can only be found by eminent monks with outstanding spiritual practice and immeasurable merit.
For example, Zen Master Xuyun.
Zen Master Xuyun became a monk at the age of eighteen and devoted himself to practicing at Yongquan Temple for nine years. Starting at the age of twenty-seven, he traveled to famous Buddhist mountains across the country for more than twenty years, visiting Mount Emei, the three major temples in Tibetan areas and other places.
They even went abroad to pay homage to Buddhist relics.
As his fame grew, Zen Master Xuyun gained the attention of the imperial court, who granted him a copy of "Long Zang", a purple coat, a jade seal, and the title of "Master of Buddha's Compassion and Propagation of Dharma."
This was a rare honor at that time, which shows that Zen Master Xuyun is highly respected.
In 1959, on the 13th day of the ninth lunar month, the 120-year-old Zen Master Xuyun passed away. After his cremation, hundreds of five-color relics were obtained, which caused a sensation.
This is not an isolated case.
For example, the old monk Meng Shen from Mount Wutai left hundreds of relics after his death at the age of 103.
There was also an old master who taught the elder Jing that before his death, the elder foresaw his end and refused to eat or drink. The doctor wanted to give him an intravenous drip. The elder pulled out the needle himself, closed his eyes and chanted the Buddha's name, went on a hunger strike and waterless diet for nine days, and finally passed away peacefully.
The relics left by Elder Chuanjing are round in texture and come in various colors and sizes. The small ones are like hanging beads worn by monks, while the large ones are like adult nails.
Among them, the relics that shocked the world came from Master Kuan Neng.
After Master Kuan Neng passed away at the age of ninety-four, he also left behind many relics. Among them, one relic is about five centimeters high and resembles a Guanyin Bodhisattva sitting on a lotus throne. Its facial features and attire are completely natural and lifelike.
Especially the head of Guanyin Bodhisattva is surrounded by Buddhist beads, which is breathtaking.
This relic is enshrined in the Thousand Buddha Pagoda of Haining Zen Temple in Huaguo Mountain. If you have a chance, you may be able to see it.
These are all real occurrences in modern history.
Ye Qiu never thought that one day he would be able to see the relic with his own eyes.
What surprised him the most was that after Master Du'e opened up the ashes, many relics appeared, including red, green, yellow, black, and white, and there were quite a lot of them.
Master Du'e quickly ran into the Tower of Enlightenment, took out a large glass jar, and began to collect the relics left by the monk Kong Jian.
"One, two, three..."
"One hundred!"
"Three hundred!"
"Five hundred!"
"Seven hundred... seven hundred and seventy-five, seven hundred and seventy-six, seven hundred and seventy-seven!"
A total of seven hundred and seventy-seven relics!
Ye Qiu was shocked.
Master Du'e also said in shock: "In Buddhism, seven is a special existence. It does not represent a number, but represents perfection."
"Master left behind seven hundred and seventy-seven relics, which represent Dzogchen."
"Congratulations, Master!"
After Master Du'e finished speaking, he kowtowed nine times to the glass jar where the relics were placed.
"Huh?"
Suddenly, Ye Qiu let out a cry of surprise and said, "Master, look quickly."
Master Du'e turned around and saw Ye Qiu pointing at the skull of the sacred monk.
After Kong Jian's body was cremated, his skull was well preserved.
Master Du'e held up the skull of Monk Kong Jian with both hands. After a closer look, he found that there was a stripe on the skull of Monk Kong Jian, which looked like Sanskrit. In the middle, there was a very clear word ""
.
"Master has been compassionate all his life. He preached Buddhism when he was young and meditated quietly when he was old. He is a truly eminent monk of the generation."
After Master Du'e finished speaking, he carefully put the skull into the glass jar.
Then, he put the ashes of Monk Kongjian into the clay pot one by one with his hands, then went to the seventh floor of the Enlightenment Tower, and scattered the ashes in the air handful by handful, letting them drift in the wind.
I came from the void and returned to the void.
Ye Qiu knew that Master Du'e was fulfilling the last words of the monk Kong Jian.
Taking advantage of this time, Ye Qiu personally carved a spiritual tablet for the monk Kongjian and placed it on the desk on the first floor of the Enlightenment Tower.
After Master Du'e scattered the ashes, he returned to the first floor of the Enlightenment Tower. Seeing that Ye Qiu had carved the spiritual tablet, he said gratefully: "Thank you, Donor Ye."
Ye Qiu said: "This is what I should do, master. You don't have to be polite."
Master Du'e asked: "Long Wu's body is still outside, what is Donor Ye going to do with it?"
Ye Qiu said: "I will arrange for someone to send Long Wu's body back to the Forbidden City, so that Long Qi and the others can take a good look at Long Wu's tragic situation."
Master Du'e said worriedly: "Donor Ye, if you do this, I'm afraid the Forbidden City will be angry."
Ye Qiu smiled and said, "I just want them to be angry."
Master Du'e was shocked.
What does Ye Qiu want to do?
Do you want to provoke the Forbidden City? Or declare war on the Forbidden City?
