Immortal Tea Party 15: Looking at the final battle from a creative perspective

This chapter of The Upside Down Sea is almost over. After working for so long, I can finally take a breath and find time to write a tea party.

Normally, everyone naturally reads the book from the reader's perspective; today, let's change the perspective. I will take you from the author's perspective, taking the final battle of the Upside Down Sea as an example to see how the plot is designed.

I won’t mention other complicated details and considerations, but only the roughest four points:

Purpose.

limit.

process.

result.

Let’s talk about “purpose” first: the protagonist’s journey to the Upside Down Sea has always had two purposes.

The main purpose is, of course, to facilitate the disappearance of the two major forces, Qian Huan and Miao Zhantian. At least one person will die and one will be injured. Those who survive will also be greatly weakened, thus creating a power vacuum on the Golden Gold Plains for a long period of time.

, to create a "general trend" that is beneficial to the protagonist.

Just like the famous line in "Let the Bullets Fly", "Not having you is very important to me."

To the Golden Plains, they are not as important as Qian Huan and Miao Zhan Genius.

The secondary purpose is to overturn the war between immortals and demons in the country, which is likely to be a preview of the future world. The protagonist must observe the war here, look for opportunities, assess risks, demonstrate possibilities for his future development, and correct his route.

Have the above objectives been achieved?

Achieved. He Lingchuan has gotten everything he wants, and he may also get the things he doesn't want so much. It's the so-called winner takes all.

Let’s connect “limitation” and “process” again:

Is the protagonist group qualified to compete head-on with the ancient true immortals and the top three demons among the Lingxu Gods?

Can a living person with bare hands dare to stand in front of a mad elephant?

This is a huge limitation in strength.

It is impossible for me to infinitely improve the protagonist in a short period of time, because this does not conform to the logic of this article. Therefore, I can only work hard on "reducing enemies". First, create a unique combat environment, so that people who cannot use their magical power can

"Sea of Consciousness"; the second is to let the protagonist supervise Qian Huan as a mortal and let the Great Immortal complete his unfulfilled obligation: to weaken the powerful Great Demon to the greatest extent.

Well, you have to say that He Lingchuan forced Qian Huan to death or severely injured Miao Zhantian. This was the most beautiful method He Lingchuan showed in the upside-down sea.

Logically speaking, these two great men should have died together.

It should be.

Why not?

Generally speaking, the ending of a major event should show the direct participation of the protagonist, and I also wanted the protagonist to have a proper fight with the Great Demon, so I left a severely injured Miao Zhantian.

For the protagonist, this is a rare battle experience - Miao Zhantian's comeback against the wind is both a lesson and an experience.

At this point, as the author, there are still two characters that must be dealt with in the battle: Xiao Wencheng and Blood Demon.

If we don't put them into the battlefield, how can we get results?

So there were Miao Zhantian's serious injuries, comebacks and killings.

When readers read books, they see passion, romance, and excitement.

When the author writes, he thinks about design, balance, and trade-offs.

But at this time, some book friends are really impatient. They count down the time in a hurry and worry about when they can finish it every day. I don't know why they are so obsessed with the results, but they are.

If you want results, then give them. Let’s change the way of writing and get the results first.

It's just the difference between working day and night, and working day and night.

In my opinion, the relationship between the author and the reader is not antagonistic. When conflicts arise, use technical means to resolve them as much as possible.

This is neither cowardice nor compromise. We have banned and deleted those who are rude, arrogant, and disorderly.

We have changed the results to be released first for those book friends who do not curse, are not angry, do not greet the author's family in a foul manner, are cultivated and qualified, but are really anxious to see the results. I will try to be as understanding and tolerant as possible.

In fact, the main body and key points of the Battle of the Topsy-turvy Sea were basically over after Qian Huan's self-destruction. He Lingchuan only did the finishing work. Whether the battle lasted longer or shorter, Miao Zhantian's fate would not change.

What is the only simple thing here? It is the change and sublimation of Xiao Wencheng's character.

In fact, this was laid out in the early stages, leaving room for Xiao's transformation. Originally, I would have used a little more space in this battle to further guide his self-sacrifice and exaggerate the halo of the character. But after the modification,

I decided to express it in a profiling way, which you will see in the subsequent chapters. Moreover, Xiao Wencheng’s actions, Xin Yi’s subsequent actions, and He Lingchuan’s future change of views on immortals are all related.

The Battle of the Upside Down Sea is the climax of this volume. The ending of Qian Huan and Miao Zhantian is the starting point for the protagonist to truly set sail.

The game He Lingchuan set up in the Golden Flash Plains will finally bear fruit; the line we laid down can finally be tightened.

The harvest season is coming. But before that, I will start a series of tea parties to share with book friends the many ideas behind the creation of the book "After the Immortal Disappears".
