Chapter 5 The Wand

"Let's go to Gringotts to exchange some money first. I don't think you can wait any longer." Professor McGonagall knew that Anduin had a lot of savings.

"Gringotts is the only wizarding bank in the UK. It is run by a group of goblins. It is known as the second safest place in the world after Hogwarts." Professor McGonagall introduced Anduin as he walked.

Under the leadership of Professor McGonagall, Anduin came to a fork in the street. The sign on one side read Knockturn Alley, and on the other side was the main road of Diagon Alley. A white building stood at the interface between Diagon Alley and Knockturn Alley.

Building, there were elf guards in scarlet and gold uniforms standing at the door. After entering, they first passed through the first shiny bronze door. The elf guards on both sides bowed and saluted as they passed by. After passing through the second silver door, inside

It was a spacious marble hall, with about a hundred goblins sitting behind a long counter, scribbling entries in a large ledger. Some used scales to weigh coins, and some used eyepieces to detect gems.

It seems that the turmoil in the outside world has not had much impact on the lives of these goblins.

Under the guidance of Professor McGonagall, Anduin came to a counter, showed his Hogwarts admission notice, and received a scholarship for poor students of 12 gold galleons. Although Anduin had money to exchange, he had already applied anyway.

Not for nothing, I later exchanged the pound for 100 gold galleons. For an 11-year-old boy, this was already a huge sum of money.

Anduin walked out of Gringotts with a sheepskin bag filled with gold galleons. He reached out and took out one and looked at it carefully. "It looks like pure gold, but it feels different from ordinary gold."

"They were all made of gold by goblins, using unique goblin craftsmanship. It is said that unique goblin magic was also applied to prevent outsiders from directly using gold to forge."

"I think you can't wait to have a wand of your own. It's hard to move forward without a wand in the magical world." Professor McGonagall looked at Anduin holding a huge sum of money and said with a smile.

While talking, Professor McGonagall led Anduin to Ollivander's Wand Shop, a wand shop with a long history. Anduin followed Professor McGonagall into the shop.

The store looked like a crowded, narrow, shabby store. There was a wand displayed on a faded purple mat in front of the window. The cabinets in the store were filled with thousands of long narrow boxes that reached to the ceiling.

, a thin old man behind the counter in the store was silently wiping a wand.

"Good afternoon, Mr. Ollivander, let's buy a wand."

"Ah, it's Minerva, nine and one-half inches, Lengshanmu. I haven't seen you for a while. Time flies so fast. It's time to enroll new students again!" Ollivander looked down at McGonagall.

Professor, he glanced at Anduin beside him. "It's been a difficult time recently. Did you hear that yesterday..."

"Yesterday's riot will not continue. You have to have confidence in the Ministry of Magic and Dumbledore!" Professor McGonagall glanced at Anduin and interrupted Ollivander, fearing that the negative information would spread to the public.

The little wizard's confidence in the magical world.

"Yes, Dumbledore, if he hadn't been in charge of the overall situation, I would have closed the door and left long ago. Let's not talk about this. Let me see what kind of wand is suitable for this young gentleman." Ollie.

Fander did not continue the previous topic and turned to look at Anduin.

"Hello, sir, my name is Anduin Wilson."

"Hello Mr. Wilson, polite young people like you are rare nowadays." Mr. Ollivander smiled and took out a long tape measure with silver scales from his coat pocket.

"Um...which hand do you use?"

"I'm right-handed."

Ollivander began to measure Anduin's size, first from shoulder to fingertips, then from wrist to elbow. "It's not easy to have such a strong body at such a young age!" Ollivander touched Anduin's hard arm.

Muscles, couldn't help but express admiration.

Anduin couldn't help but get goosebumps all over his body. Is there something wrong with this old man? He just uses a ruler to measure, but he touches people all over the body and wants to buy a wand and still be licked?

Ollivander acted quickly. While Anduin was still thinking wildly, he had already pulled out a wand from the shelf and handed it over.

"Try this one, ash, phoenix feather, eleven and one-half inches, tough and brave."

Anduin took the hand and waved it gently, and a ball of flame suddenly exploded from the tip of the wand.

"Well, it seems it's not suitable for you." Ollivander hurriedly took the wand away and took out a new one.

"Look at this one, elm wood, made from the heartstrings of a fire dragon, nine and three-quarter inches, a symbol of wisdom and elegance."

As soon as Anduin took it, Ollivander pulled it away, "It doesn't look like this one."

"Try this one again, red oak, male unicorn hair, ten and one-half inches, super agile."

Anduin took it and waved it lightly, causing the vase on the counter to explode.

"Well, it seems that you are already sensitive enough, but this is a bit too sensitive." Ollivander retracted his wand and said.

"Don't worry, you will definitely find a wand that suits you here." Anduin then tried several more wands, but Ollivander said they were not suitable.

"Try this one, thunderbolt wood, from a mighty ebony tree, thunderbird feathers, twelve and a quarter inches, firm and unwavering determination, very tough, and it's still the same as ever."

The material Newt gave me is of extraordinary value. It took a lot of effort to process this wand, but arcs occasionally occur. It is not easy to get its approval. Picky customers should try picky wands.

"Ollivander handed over a black jade-like wand.

As soon as Anduin saw this jade-like wand, he was attracted by its depth. As soon as he took it in his hand, he felt that the wand in his hand was connected with his own blood and became an extension of his body.

Anduin waved his wand lightly, and the tip of the wand shone with a slight electric light, flickering slightly.

"This is it. I am sincerely happy that every wand can find a suitable owner. It can be seen that it likes you very much." Ollivander smiled happily. He is a pure craftsman who loves his own work.

He was also very happy to find a home for his work.

"Thank you, Mr. Ollivander, I like it very much too." Anduin happily played with the wand he just got.

"Ebony is also black sandalwood. It is very suitable for combat magic and transfiguration. I believe it will shine in your hands. In addition, the wizard's first wand is priced at 7 gold galleons, and the remaining ones will be purchased by Hogwarts.

Don’t lose or damage your subsidy!” Ollivander reminded

"Don't worry, Mr. Ollivander." Anduin happily accepted the money, thanked Mr. Ollivander again, and walked out of Ollivander's wand shop with Professor McGonagall.
