Alexander's Memoirs - The Trailblazers Chapter 8 Gambling Negotiations

After being busy, Alexander hurriedly finished his breakfast and decided to see if the captain was awake.

The carriage squadron leader was still asleep, so before the technicians and soldiers went out, she asked people who had been out a few days ago about the tribe.

Those few people had no information about the tribe at all and were just busy. Finally, Alexander reminded them not to conflict with the indigenous people here, and then called his teammates to go to the tribe to negotiate.

Freya asked on the way: "If there is a conflict later, how are we going to evacuate safely?"

"Safe evacuation? It doesn't exist. If there is a conflict, it will be over." Alexander said such radical words again.

"Well..." Freya covered her head in pain.

"Uh." Sherlock was speechless.

"I think it's best for us to go over and say hello together? With fewer people going, I feel that there is no sincerity and no deterrence." Even though he said this, Alexander didn't think it would be easy to start a fight.

"Okay, okay." Sherlock responded perfunctorily to Alexander: "Then let's go!"

With no good reason from either side, Noli stopped talking. She just followed silently with her weapon behind her back, looking very worried.

Susie followed Noli, seeming to be aware of the solemn atmosphere and not making too much noise.

Tsk... Alexander really dares to take us there like this. Freya thought confusedly, but still took steps.

Alexander was the first, leading other teammates toward the tribe according to the path pointed out by Noli.

When she was about to get close, she put her bow on her back, walked from the forest path to the open space at the entrance of the tribal village, raised her hands to show that she had no weapons, and at the same time observed the entire village.

The village is surrounded by a tight wooden fence, with a sentry tower every few dozen meters. There are dark brown-skinned warriors on it wearing animal skins and holding staffs and spears.

The walls are covered with mottled dark red, which looks like it has withstood the wind and rain.

At the entrance to the side, there is a middle-aged man sitting leisurely next to a leopard, who seems to be the gatekeeper.

This man had many thin braids, and none of the four adventurers had ever seen this kind of hairstyle. However, the clothes he wore were a common set of washed and faded linen clothes.

There is a wooden spear painted red next to him. The spear is placed in a position where you can easily grab it. It seems leisurely, but in fact it is a very good posture for exerting force, proving that he has superb fighting skills.

The leopard with light stripes and dark fur lay beside him.

"It's really strange." The man muttered in a low voice. His accent was not much different from that of the adventurer.

After muttering, he stood up like a carp and made a few friendly gestures to the adventurers. Although the people on the sentry tower did not launch an attack, they were obviously much more alert.

Alexander put down his hand and nodded while saying: "It sounds like you can talk about us, so I will get straight to the point. We have lost our memory. Based on our belongings, we can judge that we were sent here to settle by an empire, and we belong to Ka

The Third Pioneer Team of the Nado Holy Empire discovered your place yesterday and came over to say hello today."

"Empire? I have some impressions of this statement, but we also forgot a lot of things some time ago. Anyway, if you follow our rules, trade items and exchange information, you are welcome." It seems that the scope of amnesia is not small;

Since the people in this tribe didn't overreact, it can be considered relatively friendly.

Noli was a little surprised when she saw that the other party actually spoke first and did not make an attack. She nodded tentatively and decided to see how they reacted to other people's interactions. However, she still wanted to go there unconsciously.

The hilt of the sword extends behind the back.

"Ah, thank you very much. In this period when we can't remember anything, it's great to have friendly neighbors. You mentioned your rules just now, can you elaborate on them?"

"In this place, strength is the last word, so our first rule is that everyone must first prove their own strength."

"Sounds fair. How to prove it?" Alexander looked at other teammates.

"There are two options. The first is to fight alone and go through five rounds under my hand. The second is to bring us a part of the fresh corpse of a large beast to prove it."

"Single challenge?" Sherlock smacked his lips, looking eager to give it a try.

It is reasonable to advocate force. After hearing this, Noli was thinking about where there might be suitable prey around. When she saw someone planning to challenge the opponent, she temporarily gave up her plan to go hunting and found a corner to stand and prepare to observe first.

Alexander looked back at his teammates and found Sherlock looking like this: "Sherlock, come and try with him?"

"Okay, no problem." He walked out and looked at the man opposite: "You should be able to use weapons, right?"

Freya stood aside and said nothing. In fact, it is more convenient to hunt instead of fighting, and you can also get some information... But Freya did not say anything.

"As you wish." The gatekeeper pointed the spear with his toes and grabbed it in his hand.

Alexander retreated to give them space, and at the same time, he was alert to the surrounding areas, especially if the opponent was just pretending to be friendly but actually planned to launch a surprise attack, then there would still be a chance to counterattack.

Susie followed her master and stood obediently in the corner, but from the way her body leaned forward, it could be seen that the female wolf was very wary.

"Anyone of you can count down to five, and then it will officially begin." He walked to a position twenty-five feet away from Sherlock.

"Then please show mercy." Sherlock put on a defensive posture and said, "Come on!"

"Let me count." Alexander counted five, and the battle was about to break out.

The man swayed his body from side to side and moved forward irregularly. He fired several feints in succession, disrupting Sherlock's defensive posture.

Suddenly, he aimed a sharp blow at Sherlock's shoulder, completely piercing Sherlock's shoulder. His dominant hand was temporarily disabled, and the wound was still frozen. Then he withdrew his attack stance and completely

No flaws.

A trace of blood flowed from the corner of Sherlock's mouth: "So strong, if you can catch this move, I will admit defeat."

Taking advantage of the opportunity to retract his spear, Sherlock quickly followed up as he spoke, changing hands with his soft sword and then attacking with random swords.

This kind of attack is difficult to dodge, especially the change in force of the soft sword is difficult to parry. The man even retreated and had seven more scars on his body, but even so, the injuries were much less than the blood holes on Sherlock's body.

"It's awesome, I lost." Seeing that it didn't cause much damage, Sherlock took a step back and lowered his head and said unwillingly.

The man thrust the wooden spear into the ground. "It's not satisfying, but you are still somewhat capable. In short, you can only show your team's hunting ability."

"It seems it's over for now. Let me stop your bleeding first." Seeing that the competition was over, Noli stepped forward to help Sherlock treat his wounds.

After Noli finished handling it, Sherlock thanked him and took out a bottle of light red potion from his coat pocket and drank it. The wound was almost healed immediately.

"By the way, there are some monsters wandering around here. It seems that there were no monsters before. Those monsters are difficult to kill, and there is no benefit even if they are killed. If you see that kind of appearance and posture, you will naturally understand." The man sent it.

Got a free piece of information.

"Thank you, we will come back with the prey. My name is Alexander, can I know your name?" Alexander asked calmly.

He half leaned on the barrel of the gun: "My name is Solas, and I am the fifth-ranked warrior in Ankaluo Village. In two days, I won't be the one guarding the gate. The next one won't be as easy to talk to as I am."

"Understood, it will take less than two days." After Alexander said that, Solas returned to his original seemingly leisurely posture.

He seemed to want to say something, but no one among the adventurers noticed. They only heard Solas snap his fingers: "Then I wish you good luck."

Alexander nodded, seeing that Sherlock's wound was no longer a problem, he called his teammates to retreat.

From beginning to end, the leopard with light stripes and dark fur next to her had no reaction. The stripes were randomly distributed like clouds. At least in Susie's eyes, this leopard was very dangerous.

"Susie, come here, it's okay." Nolly called softly, so as not to irritate the dangerous beast that made Susie's eyes full of wariness.

"Ouch..." Susie growled softly and backed away slowly.

"This village seems to be very powerful. No, the weakest of the four war kings needs three of us to have any hope of defeating him." Freya said something that was incomprehensible.

"What are the Four War Kings?" Alexander said as he walked back to the camp.

"I don't know... I just know that there are actually five of the four war kings." Freya also couldn't remember this statement.

"Isn't it common sense that there are five of the four war kings?" Sherlock, who was grinning in pain and following behind, understood.

"I don't remember having that kind of common sense at all, forget it. Sherlock, you go back to the camp to recuperate first, and the four of us will go take care of the prey." Alexander counted Susie as one. If Susie can understand, then

It must be very touching.

"Okay, I'll leave it to you then!" Sherlock became energetic after hearing this. This guy is definitely a social outlier.

"Anyway, let's leave here first and discuss other matters slowly." Noli seemed not used to being in situations with too many people, and walked quickly into the forest to avoid the sight of the tribe members.

After escorting Sherlock to the camp, Alexander faced Noli and Freya: "What should I say? Check out the road by the lake?"

Sherlock slowly took off his white shirt, which was stained red with blood, and went to the doctor to treat frostbite.

"I guess the end of the passage outside is connected to the road I found by the lake." Noli expressed her speculation.

"Okay then, let's go directly through the passage and then move along the river on the other side of the lake? But without Sherlock, it will be dangerous to face a large beast that is more threatening than the python..." This time Alexander was gone.

I began to struggle with my idea: "Or should we turn back in the direction of the desert and have a look? No, there are fewer wild animals there. You can't be too far away from the road. If you lose the landmarks, you will easily get lost..."

"It's still by the river, right? After all, wild animals and the like mostly move along the water source, so it's fine as long as we don't go deep." He kept cutting off, and it was Noli's turn to make up his mind.

"I think so too, then let's go." Alexander agreed.

"Okay. But the so-called powerful beast, even Solas thinks it is powerful, so we have to be more cautious." At this point, Noli touched Susie's head.

Freya made no comment. After lunch, the three of them and one wolf set off, and sure enough, they walked upstream along the road to the lake.

When the road came to an end, the nearby trees became sparse again. Pushing aside the slender grass blades that blocked the view, the quiet lake came into view.

Although the previous guess was wrong, it is not difficult to deduce that the path should be the end of the road at the entrance of the tribe.

There are still no traces of large beasts around the lake. It seems that the drinking water problem has been solved by the river upstream of the lake. Perhaps, even the beasts cannot bear to destroy the tranquility of this lake.

Not far along the river, a golden tiger appeared in front of the adventurers. It felt very majestic at first when it jumped out, but there was a loud roar from the beast's belly, and it seemed that it was just hungry.

"Oh...this is really..." Freya was so excited that she took out the flying knife.

"Well, the situation went unexpectedly smoothly. I hope we can deal with this big cat." Alexander also held a bow on the road, and he had an arrow on the string at this moment.

"I've gotten used to it since I saw the giant python..." Before Freya could finish speaking, the big cat opened its mouth and roared. Countless birds flew up quickly, and rain and feathers fell together.

Susie was not affected at all, but the three adventurers all felt their hands and feet were cold. The roar of this beast seemed to have a mysterious power that was captivating.

Alexander struck first, aiming at the eye and shooting the first arrow. The big cat ran forward quickly, only to be scratched on the back by the arrow.

Freya opened her eyes wide and paid attention to the movement, and threw a flying knife towards the forward path, but it only left a shallow wound on the side of the beast.

Perhaps due to the pressure brought by the large beast, Noli's left hand was obviously very stable, but her right hand holding the sword hilt was shaking inexplicably.

Feeling that her condition was not good, Noli simply let go of her right hand and grabbed the big sword with her left hand and made a semicircle.

The silver light flashed, and the approaching big cat had to turn around and dodge. Seeing that the big cat avoided the vital points of the successive attacks, Noli stared at the big cat, took a deep breath and crossed the weapon to block it in front of her.

"Ouch!" Susie roared at the big cat and stood between the big cat and Noli.

The beast, which was far larger than the size of the female wolf, roared in response and pounced on Susie, leaving serious bite marks on her body.

However, Susie's claws in counterattack then reached towards its left eye, which forced the big cat to open its mouth and raise its head, avoiding the injury to the eye but still being scratched on the left side of the face.

Taking this opportunity, Alexander concentrated his energy on injecting the second arrow, which hit the waist reliably. Freya also pulled out her dagger and stabbed her shoulder. Finally, Noli's big sword hit straight down, and the big cat who couldn't dodge was hit straight on one of his hind legs.

.

At this time, the big cat had begun to stagger, and it wanted to run away! But with a squeal, Susie tensed her body and jumped towards the big cat.

Susie's front paws followed the inertia of jumping and hit her eyes fiercely. At the critical moment, the big cat tilted its head and dodged. But it was not over yet. She fell forward, quickly changed direction and aimed at the big cat's neck.

He took a big bite.

The fatally wounded beast finally fell to the ground, and the three men and one wolf managed to kill the big golden long-haired cat in one go.
