Chapter 291 Backyard

Sean followed me closely, his back arched high, his dark eyes staring at Lao Hao, and he whined in his throat.

I don't know if it was my imagination, but Lao Hao looked at Sean, and there seemed to be a flash of light in his gray eyes.

One person and one small animal looked at each other, and no one meant to look away. Gradually, Sean's eyes began to turn red, and he made a gesture to pounce on Lao Hao.

"Haha, little guy, where is your calmness in hanging on the chassis of the Qi Yue regardless of your life?" Old Hao looked at Sean, whose eyes were red and ready to go, and suddenly laughed and said in a hoarse and weird voice.

I was shocked when I heard this. I patted Sean's big head and said, "Sean, don't make trouble."

Sean slowly calmed down when he heard my voice, his eyes returned to darkness, but his back was still arched, and the hair on his body was still standing up like steel thorns.

I stroked Sean's back and looked at Old Hao, "Uncle Hao, you just said that Sean hung on the chassis of Qi Yue's car and followed him in?"

Lao Hao looked at Sean and nodded, "The little guy is very good, but he is still a little small. Take good care of him!"

After saying this, Lao Hao stopped looking at Sean and me, turned around and left with the garden hoe.

There was a soft "click" sound, and a thick thread-bound booklet that looked full of stains, dirty and yellowed fell from Old Hao's body and fell under the camellia tree.

I stepped forward and picked up the booklet, and saw a few black seal characters of "Jinjing Baojian" vaguely written on the cover.

"Uncle Hao, the book fell off your body!" I said, looking at Old Hao's stooped back.

"I never read, and I don't have any books on me!" Old Hao paused in his steps, dropped these words, and quickly disappeared into the shadow of a tree.

I could see it falling from his body. Did he give this booklet to me on purpose?

I was stunned, didn't say anything more, and opened the booklet in my hand.

"The Dunjia is designed for soldiers, and the soldiers are shadow images and deceitful ways, so they are adopted from all kinds of Dunjia. It is said that they can escape under the six rituals without seeing their actions.

Gaijia is the supreme god. He should be hidden but not exposed. He should be harmonious but not taken advantage of. He should be supported but not restrained. His favorite thing is earth..."

It is actually a book about Qimen Dunjia that is somewhat similar to the "Shengyuan Heavenly Book".

The strange thing is that after being sealed by Mrs. Hu Santai, I couldn't recall the contents of the "Shengyuan Heavenly Book" at all. Even if I looked at the book, I couldn't understand its meaning. However, with this "Golden Mirror Treasure Mirror", I could understand everything in just one reading.

The meaning of a word will not be forgotten immediately even after putting down the booklet.

I raised my head, looked at the place where Lao Hao disappeared, bent down and bowed deeply.

After putting the booklet close to my body, I patted Sean's big head and said, "Don't be disrespectful to Uncle Hao when you see him in the future!"

I don’t know if Sean understood. He looked up at my suddenly serious face, hummed a little aggrievedly, and pushed his fluffy head into my arms.

Looking at Sean's coquettish appearance, I remembered what Uncle Hao said and gently lifted Sean's meaty tiger paw.

I could see that the hair between the fingers of the tiger's paws was worn bare, and the skin on the paw pads was mottled, cracked, and even had some burn marks.

He gently pinched the knuckles between his fingers, and the tiger claws were exposed. Two or three of the long and sharp tiger claws that once shone with cold light were broken into short sections, and there were still dried nails left in the cracks of the nails.

Bloodshot.

I held Sean in my arms with distress, rubbed his head, and finally shed my first tear since Qi Yue was under house arrest for several days.

The tears couldn't be stopped after they flowed out. Sean seemed to feel it. He hummed and raised his head from my arms, licking the tears that were pouring out of me.

"Sean, we will definitely get out of here soon!" I seemed to be comforting Sean, and also seemed to be cheering myself up when I was almost in despair.

After a long time, I slowly stood up and turned to look at the sky outside the high wall. After a while, I raised my hand to wipe the tears from my face and looked down at Sean, who was looking up at me.

"Come on, let's go back to the house!"

The next two days were simple but full of hope. I crazily absorbed the knowledge in "Jinjing Baojian". Although I still couldn't muster the energy to take the Qimen Bagua Steps that were so fast and treacherous before, I was able to use a chair to perform simple steps.

The formation caused that when Mrs. Chen brought me milk before bed, she couldn't get around the bed for half a day.

Qi Yue didn't come to the villa for a few days. He told me that he would come to collect my blood in three days to help Bai Xiaohe suppress the evil spirits in his body. I was also happy not to see his disgusting fake face.

Sean and I would go to the garden every day, and occasionally we would meet old Uncle Hao. He would always quietly take care of the flowers and trees with his head down, almost turning a blind eye to Sean and me, like a real mute.

Sean no longer had the initial hostility toward old Uncle Hao, but he didn't get close to him either.

A week passed in the blink of an eye, the 14th day of the seventh lunar month was the Ghost Festival, which was also my 19th birthday.

After breakfast, I took Sean for a stroll in the garden as usual.

The sky was overcast and the cloud tops were very low, as if a heavy rain was going to fall at any time.

When I walked to the brass gate and looked at the locked door, I sighed sadly, turned around and led Sean back, when I saw Lao Hao standing quietly under the two-color camellia tree from a distance.

He looked at Sean and me with a bit of compassion in his eyes.

It was rare to see old Uncle Hao staring at me like this. I thought about it and subconsciously walked towards him.

Walking up to Lao Hao, I opened my mouth and was about to speak when he suddenly let out a long sigh, looked away from my face, turned around and walked towards the backyard.

The backyard is Old Uncle Hao's territory. Mrs. Chen once told me that Old Uncle Hao doesn't like anyone to go to the backyard, so even though I have been detained by Qi Yue for so many days and am somewhat curious about the backyard, I have never been there.

"Uncle Hao!" I said while looking at Old Hao's back. Sean was sitting at my feet, tilting his head and looking at Old Hao's back.

"Come with me!" Old Hao's hoarse and dry voice came over vaguely.

I was stunned, thinking I heard wrongly, and subconsciously lowered my head to look at Sean.

Sean also looked up at me, raised his feet and followed me with a bang, his fluffy tail standing up slightly and shaking.

Real dog.

Lao Hao walked very fast, and Sean and I carefully followed him like two sneaky stalkers.

Even if there were cameras in the garden, when Qi Yue saw Sean and I following Old Hao, he would not have thought that it was Old Hao who asked us to follow him to the backyard.

Following the cobblestone path and bypassing the villa for only about ten meters, you saw a fence half as tall as a person. The fence was covered with tiny white flowers, which seemed to be taller than those on the garden wall.

The vine rose looks even more surprising.

Although she is not delicate and beautiful, she looks full of life.

Behind the fence, a delicate wooden house loomed. If Mrs. Chen hadn't said that the wooden house was built by Lao Hao himself, I would have suspected that Qi Yue specially hired skilled craftsmen to build it.
