Chapter 111: Desert Prison

Early the next morning, Gao Fei and Jiang Feng logged into the "Creator Simulator". Today's plan was to advance the main plot of the Monk module.

The time in the module has reached late October 1600 in the Holy Light Calendar. The Sevinian Corps stationed at the Iron Fist Fort has wiped out the smaller sand bandit gangs on the Gobi Desert after a month of suppression.

Most of the bandits fled to the town of Verland and fell under the wings of the great warlord Noxos.

On October 23, the anti-bandit campaign finally reached its final stage.

General Alfonso Rodriguez personally led the army and launched a general attack on the town of Verland, the hometown of the Noxos Gang.

However, among this mighty army, there was no figure of Baron Rubio Lopez.

This young nobleman, who rose to prominence in the war against bandits, led a cavalry company to quietly leave the Iron Fist Fort three days ago to carry out a secret mission.

About 40 miles southwest of the town of Verland, in a deserted land covered with yellow sand and gravel, stands a castle that has been eroded by wind and sand.

The walls surrounding the castle are in disrepair and have collapsed in many places. In comparison, the closed city gates and drawbridges feel a bit self-deceiving.

There are barracks and stables located on the inside of the city wall. A gnoll warband of about a hundred people is stationed here. They have nothing to do all day long and spend their time gambling, drinking or fighting.

This desolate castle far away from the town was originally the headquarters of the Noxos gang.

Two years ago, the fire djinn Noxos captured the town of Verland and moved the gang's headquarters there. The castle gradually fell into disuse and was transformed into a prison.

Most of the prisoners held in this prison were captured officers, soldiers and even nobles. Noxos did not use them as slaves or sell them, hoping to use the prisoners as bargaining chips to extract ransoms from their families.

Among all the prisoners imprisoned here, the one with the most special identity is the djinn noble named Ali, who was once the most feared enemy of the elf djinn Noxos.

Noxos spent a lot of effort to capture Ali, but did not kill him. Instead, he was secretly imprisoned in an isolated castle dungeon. He also appointed his trusted general Massoud as the warden to guard Ali.

The reason why the efreet did this was not out of good intentions or mercy, but to extract more use value from its old enemy.

Ali is a wind djinn of noble birth. He possesses a magical power and can cast a 9-ring "wishing spell" once a year.

This is nothing unusual for the djinn nobles, as Noxos himself has similar abilities.

Noxos kept Ali just to force him to provide a wish-making service once a year to help him solve his troubles, or in exchange for more slaves and wealth.

In order to achieve this goal, Noxos imprisoned his most hated enemy in a dungeon with magical restrictions. Once a year, he conveyed his wishes to Ali through the loyal Salamander Warden - because of the djinn's "wishes"

"Spell" cannot take effect on the Djinn race itself.

In addition to the powerful salamander warrior Masud and hundreds of gnoll gangsters, those responsible for guarding the prison are also a small group of lava mephits recruited by Masud from his hometown "Fire Elemental Plane". They are not so much jailers, but more

Like a pet dedicated to amusing the warden and relieving his boredom.

In addition, there is a desert troll nicknamed "Big Stick" beside Masoud. He is both his bodyguard and an expert in torture. He drags a big wooden stick around the prison when he has nothing to do, scaring the prisoners.

Don't dare to come out.

These confidential information are all written on the back of the prison map. It was precisely because of the map that Yeseniya intentionally left behind that Gao Fei and Jiang Feng came here today, planning to sneak into the prison secretly and rescue the imprisoned Wind Giant.

On the Gobi Desert shrouded in darkness, a company of camels stopped near the leeward sand dunes, waiting for orders from their commander.

Jiang Feng wore a yellow linen cloak that had both camouflage and windproof functions. He held a monocular telescope in his hand and looked at the prison fortress 10 miles away. He pretended to be investigating, but in fact, he secretly spent an astrolabe energy to directly detect the castle.

Internal movement.

Gao Fei jumped off the camel's back and walked up to an officer with a beard.

"Mr. Pablo, next I will accompany the lord to sneak into the castle where the prison is located alone. You lead the troops to stay here and wait for our news. When you see three orange-red signal arrows lighting up in the night sky, lead the troops to kill

Enter the castle, eliminate the bandits, and free all prisoners."

"There are only two of you sneaking into the castle?" Captain Pablo looked confused, "Mr. Olaf, isn't this too risky?"

Jiang Feng put away the telescope and turned back to Captain Pablo: "If I were not sure, I would not dare to propose this rescue plan to the General. Mr. Pablo, just do what Basaca said."

"Yes, Mr. Colonel." Captain Pablo shrugged helplessly, "I look forward to your good news."

Gao Fei whistled, and the soft and calm sand suddenly made waves. Sandworms with saddles on both ends emerged from the depths of the sand, crawled to him and Jiang Feng, and lowered their heads meekly, waiting for orders.

When they first practiced riding sandworms, both Gao Fei and Jiang Feng were a little repelled. After some solid psychological preparation, they reluctantly accepted this scary-looking big bug.

After they got used to it, they discovered that although the domesticated sandworms were ugly in appearance, they had a docile temperament and were more considerate than the camels that lost their temper easily.

Gao Fei and Jiang Feng straddled the saddles that were firmly tied to the sandworm's back. They held their breath, shook the reins, and urged the sandworm to dig into the sand, sneaking towards the area where the prison was without anyone noticing.

In fact, with their skills, it is not difficult to climb over the city wall at night. However, considering that there are hundreds of jackal gangsters stationed in the barracks, and there are also warden Masud and his troll bodyguards in the castle, in case they are alerted, there will be a conflict.

If they get up, the gangsters are likely to take the prisoners as hostages, or even directly massacre the prisoners, which is counterproductive.

In order to ensure the safety of the prisoners, especially the imprisoned Wind Giant, Gao Fei and Jiang Feng decided to leave the troops outside. The two of them sneaked in first, tried to control the cell, and then sent out a signal to summon the troops to launch an attack.

The map provided by Yesenia is very detailed, and the facilities inside the castle are clearly marked.

Before arriving, Gao Fei and Jiang Feng had carefully studied this map and planned their infiltration route.

Sandworms are sneaking underground and cannot see the surface. How to ensure that they do not deviate from the planned route is a problem.

Fortunately, Gao Fei and Jiang Feng both have astrolabees in hand. Even if they are underground, they can still detect the situation on the surface by spending a beam of astrolabe energy.
