Chapter 25: Young Soma

A young monk wandered in the desert and lost his way.

The sheepskin water bag had shriveled up, and the only rations he carried with him were four dates and half a piece of naan. To make matters worse, the weather also became extremely bad, with a storm carrying sand and dust roaring in, covering the sky and blocking out the sun.

The camel sensed the approaching sandstorm before its owner, and in panic broke away from the reins, threw Soma to the sand, and ran away.

Somo tried to catch up with the camel, but he soon got lost in the dark sandstorm and could not see the direction at all. Countless sand grains hit his face with the strong wind, hitting his face and stinging, making him feel unable to breathe.

What's even more terrible is that the sand dune beneath his feet suddenly collapsed, as if the earth opened its throat and wanted to swallow him whole.

The young man was caught in the double torment of quicksand and sandstorm, his consciousness gradually became blurred, and the figure of death seemed to be within reach.

At the moment when he was about to fall into coma, Somo clutched the copper collar that his mother had given him before she died and prayed for God's blessing.

Just as Basaka received a response from Gao Fei as the "savior" when he prayed in prison and managed to help him escape from prison, Jiang Feng also relied on Sumo as a "savior" when he prayed desperately and helped this

Young Monk PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.

"How did you escape from the shackles of quicksand?" Gao Fei asked Jiang Feng.

"I didn't do anything, I just lay on the sand dune without moving. The strong sandstorm pushed the dune forward slowly, and finally threw me out of the quicksand." Jiang Feng replied with a smile.

Gao Fei felt incredible at first. After thinking about it carefully, she had to admit that she had made the wisest decision.

Under the circumstances, the more you struggle, the deeper you will fall into the quicksand. If you keep quiet and resign yourself to fate, you will be saved in the end.

After luckily escaping from the quicksand, Jiang Feng controlled Somo and trekked in the desert. When he was about to die of thirst, he finally found an oasis with clean water, which solved his urgent need.

However, the good times did not last long, and she soon discovered that she was not the only resident in the oasis.

Near the spring are the embers of a campfire, the remains of eaten bones, and the footprints of humanoids and beasts.

Not long after, Jiang Feng encountered a group of hyenas.

These ferocious beasts pounced on her and bit her, forcing her to take action to protect herself.

Initially, due to Jiang Feng's careless operation, Somo was surrounded by hyenas and bitten to death, so he was forced to load the file and start over.

Gaining wisdom after every experience, she then started to fight and run away to avoid being sieged. It took her most of the day to kill all the 12 hyenas in the two waves.

The 12 hyenas provided a total of 300 experience points, which was just enough for Soma to be promoted to a level 2 monk.

Apart from this group of hyenas, no other enemies were found yet. Jiang Feng established a temporary camp by the spring, thus completing the plot milestone of the prologue, and also received a bonus expertise.

After the battle, Jiang Feng looked at the hyena corpses and found that the dogs were wearing animal skin collars around their necks, indicating that these hyenas were domesticated fighting beasts, and more dangerous enemies were yet to come.

The development of the situation was as expected. As soon as the high-flying berserker teleported over, he heard messy footsteps coming from the bushes opposite the spring, which were also mixed with roars that looked like humans but not humans, and looked like wolves but not wolves.

"The situation is not good, hide quickly!"

Gao Fei controlled Basaka to hide in the bushes, and Jiang Feng's monks followed him, squatting behind the bushes and looking through the branches and leaves at the place where the roar came from.

As they watched, a group of tall humanoid creatures came aggressively to the spring. When they saw the hyena corpses lying on the ground, they were all frightened and angry, howling and screaming.

There were a total of five uninvited guests, no less than two meters tall by visual inspection, wearing simple animal skin armor, holding flails, small leather shields tied to their arms, and javelins slung behind their backs.

Their physical characteristics are similar to humans, but they have heads that look like hyenas, bared teeth, and a ferocious look on their faces. Spotted skin and dirty brown manes are exposed where the leather armor cannot cover them.

Five spotted hyenas followed these half-human, half-wolf monsters, running around them and barking like loyal dogs beside a hunter.

"What kind of monster is this... a werewolf?" Jiang Feng said to himself in confusion.

"He is a gnoll, the descendant of the demon lord Yeenoghu, a villain as famous as goblins and orcs in the fantasy world, almost all bandits with evil nature!"

Gao Fei pulled out the new monster illustration included in the astrolabe and pointed it out to Jiang Feng.

The gnoll bandits are slightly stronger than the orc jailers who originally guarded Basaka. They have mastered the three martial arts skills of "slashing", "powerful attack" and "proficient tripping".

Needless to say, "powerful attack" can count the weapon's proficiency bonus into the damage roll. At the level of the jackal, it is equivalent to an additional 2 points of damage per attack!

"Proficient in tripping" is a talent commonly possessed by canine beasts. After biting the prey, it rolls along and forcibly knocks the prey to the ground.

Jackals don't have a dog's head in vain, they are also good at tripping skills, but they no longer bite their prey like wild beasts, but skillfully use weapons to trip their opponents.

Among the five jackals, the most conspicuous one is a guy dressed in a very "killing" style. His mane is dyed green and red. He has a bright silver belt around his waist, a large gold chain around his neck, and a gold chain around his ears.

She wore two strings of gold rings, stylish nose and lip nails, and black eye circles with charcoal gray to look like a smoky eye.

This popular brother...or maybe my sister, is the "Alpha" of the Gnoll gang - in the language of the Gnolls, "Alpha" means leader.

The hyena behind the jackal leader is also unusual. Compared with the skinny ordinary hyenas, this beast is obviously more ferocious. It is as strong as a brown bear. From a distance, you can tell that it is not easy to mess with.
