Chapter 3: Prince in the Tower

Current Mod: Prince's Revenge

Story stage: Vales World/New World/Jotunheim East Coast

Starting time: Early summer of 1453 in the Holy Light Calendar

story background:

The ambitious frost giant lord "Ice Tower Warlock" Gelmir led a regiment composed of giants and orcs to cross the Jotunheim Glacier, invade the eastern plains, and conquer the Aesir indigenous people on this land.

The "Olav Tribe" forced the captured Asa tribesmen to build fortresses as a bridgehead for sending troops to conquer other human forces.

Gelmir killed most of the nobles of the Olaf tribe, leaving only the tribe's prince Basaka Olaf, imprisoned in a high tower standing on the edge of a coastal cliff.

The Ice Tower Warlock was not in a hurry to kill Prince Barsaka, but wanted to extract from him the whereabouts of an artifact that had been passed down from generation to generation by the royal family of Olaf.

This artifact is called "St. Olaf's Axe", and it is said to be a weapon used by King St. Olaf, the leader of the Jotunheim barbarian tribe more than 300 years ago.

This barbarian hero finally died heroically in a war against the invasion of frost giants. The artifact battle ax that killed countless enemies during his lifetime was also buried in the king's tomb as a funerary object in accordance with the customs of the Asa tribe.

The Æsir in Jotunheim all believe in such a prophecy: when the frost giants cross the glacier and start another war, the successor of King St. Olaf will also emerge, hold high the holy ax, and lead the Æsir tribes to unite as one.

, jointly fight against the invaders from the West.

The Ice Tower Warlock sneered at this prophecy, but he also knew that St. Olaf's battle ax was indeed the nemesis of the frost giants and must be guarded against.

In order to eliminate hidden dangers, Gelmir tried to find out from Basaka where the tomb of King St. Olaf was located, and got the holy ax before the so-called "savior", trying to destroy this artifact and avoid future troubles forever.

When Basaka was imprisoned, he was hypnotized by the Ice Tower Warlock's spell. Although he tried his best to resist, he still confided a few words.

These clues did not satisfy the evil warlock, and he threatened to hang him if he did not explain clearly about the holy ax before dawn!

It was almost dawn, and the barbarian prince Basaka Olaf, who was in prison, thought that he had very little life left, and his wish for revenge was about to come to nothing. With no other choice, he could only pray to the gods to save him, guide him to escape from the prison, and seize the opportunity to fight against Geer.

Myr previously recovered the artifact and liberated his people who were forced into slavery.

The introduction of the background of the story ends here. Astrolabe sent a system prompt: Beginner’s Tutorial·Shenken Mode.

The so-called "divine" means that Goofy controls the character Basaka Olaf as a player to take risks and fight.

Of course, Basaka didn't realize that he was just a character in the game, and thought that the gods had answered his prayers, and the Holy Spirit descended on him to guide him to escape from the prison.

Astrolabe provides two operating modes for Goofy.

First of all, as the "god" in the game, Goofy can use the "God's perspective" to control his "chosen", that is, the barbarian brother Basaka, and fight in a "turn-based" manner, which is a bit like a chess game.

rpg games.

In addition, Gao Fei can also rely on Basaka, just like controlling his own body, and experience the game plot from a first-person perspective. The battle becomes a more realistic real-time system. If Basaka is injured in the battle, Gao Fei will also experience the same experience.

The pain is like a perfectly realistic somatosensory game.

The experience of the first-person game perspective is more realistic, but the operation is also more difficult. Gao Fei is still a novice and feels that it is better to play it safe, so he chooses the God perspective.

The astrolabe is not equipped with a mouse or controller. As long as Gao Fei has a thought, he can control Basaka to act according to his own wishes.

Gao Fei first tried the basic movement operations, and then followed the system prompts to bring up Basaka's status bar to check the various attributes of this barbarian man.

A character's "proficiency" in the game refers to which weapons, armors, tools, saving throw types and skill checks he is good at.

For items mastered with proficiency, a 1st level character can gain 2 modifiers.

As the level increases, the proficiency modifier will also increase step by step.

The letter "d" in the status bar represents dice with various faces, which is used to reflect the randomness of the game.

For example, "1d4" refers to rolling a four-sided die, and the number randomly thrown is between 1 and 4.

If there is an "advantage" in a certain test, it means rolling two twenty-sided dice and taking the larger point; otherwise, "disadvantage" means rolling two dice and taking the lower number.

There is another key data, which is "attribute modification".

In this fantasy world, the average value of the six major attributes of ordinary people is 10 points. Subtract 10 points from a certain attribute of the character, divide it by 2, and round down to the whole, which is the modified value of that attribute.

In Basaka's status bar, the number in brackets after the attribute value is the corresponding attribute modification.

Data such as "attribute modification" are needed to calculate the hit rate of magic and physical attacks, skills and saving throws, health points and the number of uses of special abilities, etc.

For example, to calculate attack hit rate, also known as "attack roll", first roll a twenty-sided die, and then add strength modifier, proficiency bonus and other bonuses.

Basaka's strength attribute is 18 points, and the strength modifier is 4.

The prisoners have no weapons, but fortunately Basaka has received fighting training since childhood, and he can gain proficiency modifier (2) even when fighting with bare hands.

The total of the two is 6, plus the random points obtained by rolling a twenty-sided die. If the total is not less than the enemy's defense level, you can hit the opponent.
