Chapter 29: The Dance of the Lions

After turning into an ocelot, Goofy cannot hold weapons, and the minions, as natural weapons, only have a damage die of 1d4.

Counting the 6 agility modifier, it is impossible to penetrate the damage-reducing armor of the Nightshuck Hound without triggering a critical hit.

This is when the "Monk Mask" comes into play.

The "Monk Mask" of a level 4 imitator provides three abilities.

In addition to "Body Protection Qi", there are also "Fighting Qi Attack" and "Martial Arts".

"Fighting Strike" upgrades the minions into magic weapons, ignoring the damage-reducing armor of the Nightshrew.

"Martial Arts" increases the damage die of hand-to-hand combat to 1d6, and you can use a bonus action to add an unarmed strike each round.

If a cat scratches someone with its claws, does it count as a "bare-handed" strike?

Of course it counts!

So when Goofy transforms into the ocelot form, the damage dice of the cat's claws are increased to 1d6, two scratches per round, and the lethality is equivalent to dual-wielding magic daggers!

Once again, he avoided the bite of the neighing hound, jumped three feet in the air, swung the cat's claws and aimed at the dog's face, giving him two big slaps!

Snapped!

The first claw struck the night hound's face, causing 8 points of puncture damage. It made it howl in pain, but the second claw missed.

Gao Fei frowned and realized that things were not simple.

In the ocelot form, the cat's claw has an attack roll of 8, while the night's hound has a defense of 17, with a hit rate of about 60%.

It is normal for Gao Fei to swing out two claws and miss one of them.

Of course, this problem is not difficult to solve.

The cat's claws can either cause "piercing" damage, or they can be changed from scratching to scratching, and the damage type changes to "slashing", thereby gaining the enhancement of "Weapon Specialization (Slashing)" and giving the attack an advantage.

But Gao Fei has a better tactical option.

Turn on "Dexterity Action" and perform "Retreat". Goofy avoids the opportunistic attack of the night barking hound and climbs up a big tree.

Gao Fei squatted on a tree branch, turned his head and meowed mockingly at the night hound under the tree.

"You're dumbfounded, Gouzi, I can climb trees!"

The night neighing hound looked up at the dense tree canopy, shook its tail, and opened its posture, intending to fly into the air and chase Gao Fei.

Before he could fly, Gao Fei suddenly jumped down from the tree!

Just like the dragon's "dive and crush", a cat jumping from a height of more than 10 feet can also be regarded as a charge.

Since it is a charge, then the feline beast's strongest talent "Pounce (Lion's Charge)" comes into play. It has an advantage in the attack roll this round, and the damage die is doubled, from 1d6 to 2d6!

Gao Fei jumped on the back of the night neighing hound and hit two cat punches as fast as lightning!

hp-14!

hp-15!

"Martial skills" combined with "pounce", a pair of small cat claws, the lethality is comparable to that of a giant sword, both cute and fierce, two claws can kill half the life of a night neighing hound.

Goofy jumped off the back of the neighing hound, performed "retreat" with "dexterous movements", and once again avoided the attack of opportunity, the cat climbed up the tree!

Climbing to a height of more than ten feet above the ground, Gao Fei turned around and pounced, and performed another set of gorgeous cat punches, beating the night neighing hound with blood all over its face, holding its head and wailing.

Pounce, dexterous movements, retreat, hit and run, distance yourself and then fight back.

This is a routine Goofy learned from Dimitri the Lion, and calls it the "Lion Dance"!

The neighing hound had endured two rounds of the "Lion's Dance" and its life had bottomed out. It did not dare to chase and fly high again, so it hurriedly flew into the air, stretched its neck, and let out a magical howl.

When Gao Fei saw it open its mouth, he guessed that it was going to use the supernatural ability "Terror Roar", so he immediately switched the "Monk Mask" to the "Berser" mask and turned on the "Rage".

A high-flying imitator must level up one more level to learn the "Aura of Courage" through the "Paladin Mask" and become immune to fear.

Now you can only use the Will save advantage provided by "Rage" to enhance your resistance to "Terrorous Roar".

Roar of the Night Hound, Will DC 12.

Goofy's current Will saving throw was 6, coupled with the superiority of double dice, he finally managed to resist the fear effect caused by the barking dogs without any danger.

As long as you succeed on a Will save, you will no longer be affected by the "terrifying roar" for that day.

The night neighing hound pulled its neck and howled for a while, and then found that the wild cat was still standing there, with the same expression as usual, and suddenly felt a chill in his heart. He quickly used "Transformation Spirit Body", and his body turned into a shadow, intending to sneak into the spirit world.

.

Once the night neighing hound completely escapes into the spirit world, it is equivalent to becoming invisible.

Gao Fei has not yet mastered the method of "seeing through invisibility", so it would be very unpleasant to deal with an invisible opponent and always be on guard against sneak attacks!

With this thought in mind, he switched the "Berserker Mask" to the "Warlock Mask", stood up and returned to his human form, raised his hand and fired a "Magic Explosion" enhanced by the "Magic Spear".

At this time, the night neighing hound had just escaped into the spirit world and was already in an invisible state. Before it could run any further, it was hit by a "magic blast".

Most offensive magic cannot directly kill targets in the spirit world.

The exception is magic with the "force field" property.

Such as "magic missiles" and "magic explosions"!

The neighing hound was almost killed on the spot by the "magic blast". He no longer dared to pester Gao Fei and fled in panic to the depths of the spiritual world for refuge.

After driving away the vicious dog, Gao Fei didn't take a breath and quickly went to help Ma Yun deal with Istna.

As soon as he ran two steps, he saw Jiang Feng's berserker carrying a tomahawk running over from the other side of the woods.

"Gao Fei, are you okay?"

"I'm fine. Did you kill the Nightmare Colt?"

"That guy was chopped to death by me, and then he fled to the spirit world."

"Same thing with night hounds."

"Don't worry about those two lost dogs for now, go help Xiaoyun quickly!"

Jiang Feng rushed in front, followed closely by Gao Fei.

However, when the two came to the area where Ma Yun and Istna were fighting, they were blocked by a transparent "air wall".

She could only watch as Ma Yun's protective buffs were stripped away instantly by Istna's 3-level "Dispersion Technique", and then she was knocked down by a series of "magic missiles" that roared towards her.

"Holy crap! Another plot kill!" Jiang Feng stomped his feet angrily, "If the plot hadn't forced Xiaoyun and Istna to fight one on one, we would have fought together and we would have definitely hacked that witch to death!"

Gao Fei smiled bitterly to reassure her to calm down.

"Istna is obviously a key NPC. If I guess the game designer's idea correctly, this person will become the heroine's old enemy, providing an incentive for her to be killed by her old enemy if she does not grow up as soon as possible."

"If you just let your temper run wild and kill Istna here, what kind of enemy would you be? The design intention of this character will not be reflected."

"Alas! I admit that what you said makes sense, but why do you design these unpleasant plots?" Jiang Feng said angrily, "I prefer not to use my brain, there is no emotional drama, and there is no psychological journey or character creation.

, kicking open the door and rushing in is a game of random killing!"
