Chapter 81: Orphan Twist

In fact, the kind-hearted old gentleman Mr. Brownlow has been looking for the illegitimate son of his late friend Edwin all these years, and Oliver is the son of his old friend whom he has been searching for.

Before his death, Edwin left part of the family property to the illegitimate son, and also entrusted Brownlow to find Oliver, who was taken away by his mother since childhood, and serve as the child's guardian.

Mr. Brownlow went to the hospital where Oliver was born, and finally found out his life experience. He wanted to go home and tell him the good news, but he didn't expect that the child ran away from home and left a letter saying that he didn't want to go home.

Because of his own fault, he implicated the kind-hearted Brownlow family.

Mr. Brownlow was eager to find little Oliver, so he posted a missing person notice on the street, offering a reward of two thousand gold pounds.

When the three tramps saw the missing person notice, they remembered that they had seen little Oliver fishing by the river the day before yesterday, and heard that the child said he was going to Mrs. Freddy's workhouse to make a living.

The three were obsessed with money and excitedly ran to the workhouse to ask Freddy and his wife if they had taken in a street boy named Oliver Twister.

Mrs. Freddie saw that these three guys had ulterior motives, so she used a charm spell to induce them to tell them about the reward.

Freddy and his wife felt that there was no need to divide the bounty among the three tramps, so they killed them and hung them in the basement slaughterhouse, saving them for breakfast for the ogre's adopted sons.

After some inquiring, the couple learned that little Oliver was the heir to a deceased rich man in the city.

Mrs. Freddy originally planned to fatten up the skinny little Oliver and eat it. After hearing the news, the old witch became greedy and was reluctant to eat little Oliver.

The couple conspired to use little Oliver to seize the Edwin family's inheritance.

Unfortunately, little Oliver refused to listen to their instructions and angered Freddy and his wife, so they locked him in the basement and let him reflect on it.

After understanding the cause and effect of the whole incident, Gao Fei and his party sent little Oliver to Mr. Brownlow's house.

Old Man Brownlow was so grateful that he happily distributed 2,000 gold pounds to the four of them according to the reward price indicated on the missing person notice as a reward for finding the child.

After completing this side mission, Gao Fei said to Lisa with emotion: "Little Oliver escaped from the devil's cave and inherited a large amount of inheritance. It can be said that he survived the catastrophe and will be blessed later."

At this time, the system sent a prompt to reach the plot milestone, the astrolabe energy is 1!

Goofy's Mimic reaches level 8.

HP7(58), attribute 1(Charisma 21).

Attribute replacement, upgraded from "Proficiency" to "Mastery".

Mastery of Replacement: Focus on meditation for 1 minute to complete attribute replacement.

Gao Fei's magical pet "Eye of the Ball" has also been upgraded to a level along with its owner.

HP 5 (37), attribute 1 (charisma 20), natural defense 1 (4).

When the imitator reaches level 8, 8 of the 12 "magic masks" will reveal new abilities.

"Berserker Mask" adds "Wild Intuition", which is equivalent to gaining the benefits of "Intuition Dodge" and "Reflex Dodge" at the same time.

"Thief's Mask", sneak attack damage die increased to 4d6.

"Poet's Mask", learn "Soothing Song".

During the performance, abnormal mental states such as "fury", "fear" and "charm" within 60 feet can be suppressed.

"Priest Mask", channel energy increased to 4d6.

"Ranger Mask" can learn to "walk through the forest" and walk on quicksand, mud, ice and difficult terrain with overgrown weeds. The speed will not be affected and will not be entangled by activated plants.

Goofy's "Warlock Mask" has always retained the level 1 "Entanglement" imitated from the tree spirit Enya, which can be combined with the "Walker Walk" to form a simple and practical tactical combination.

Just wear the "Warlock Mask" and the "Ranger Mask" at the same time, and then cover the battlefield with "Entangle".

It seems that both the enemy and ourselves are trapped by vines, but in fact only the enemy suffers. Gao Fei himself can use the "walk through the forest" to freely shuttle among the vines everywhere, gaining a huge advantage in mobility.

This routine is applicable to all land-based hostile creatures!

Miss Lisa plays a very important role in this chapter and her performance is outstanding. At the end of the main plot, she is promoted to a level 7 "Arbitrator".

HP 7 (52), channel energy 4d6, and also learned two 3rd level divine arts.

One of them, you must choose the 3-ring magic spell of "Judgment Domain", which is the very cost-effective "dispersion spell".

You can choose the second 3-level divine spell at will, as long as it does not conflict with your own beliefs.

Gao Fei suggested that Lisa take "Spirit Body Guard" as an elective.

This third-level divine spell can create a spherical barrier that follows the caster's movement, with a radiation radius of 15 feet.

Hostile creatures that enter this area will suffer 3d6 points of radiant damage each round, and their movement speed will be halved.

Compared to mages or warlocks, a major weakness of priests is the lack of field control spells.

For example, "Grease", "Glitter Dust" and "Spider Web" are not in the list of regular magical spells. If a priest wants to learn such spells, he can only choose the corresponding field. The field is related to faith and professional paradigm. It is not about wanting to learn such spells.

You can choose if you choose.

In this case, the "Spirit Guard", which has the dual effects of "killing" and "controlling the field", becomes extremely valuable.

In particular, female clergymen like Lisa, who are naturally weak in strength attributes, cannot compare with those macho priests who are accustomed to wearing heavy armor, holding large shields, and wielding the Morning Star Hammer to knock people on the skull. They should elect "Spirit Body Guard" to make up for it.

Weaknesses in melee combat.

Sister Claire was promoted to level 7 "Animal Tamer" with hp 8 (54).

Automatically acquire level 2 "Transformation", awaken "telepathy" ability, and can share life with animal companions.

Mario is upgraded to a level 8 thief, with hp 8 (61), attributes 1 (agility 21), and learns "Stealth Expert".

Stealth Expert: When the character is in the shadows, he automatically becomes invisible.

After completing this chapter perfectly, Goofy gets a reward career, which is Carl Freddy's "Warrior".

Unfortunately, he has already taken this profession in the two-player module "Port City Adventures", which is a bit of a waste.

Among all pure kitchen knife professions, the strongest on the offensive end is recognized as the "Berserker", while the strongest on the defensive end is undoubtedly the Warrior.

Gao Fei dares to say that no one knows "Berserker" better than him.

But even in terms of attack power, he doesn't think the Berserkers will definitely beat the Warriors.

In a PK between the two sides, the berserker must output all the damage in the shortest possible time, trying to get one set to take the warrior away.

If the warrior is beaten to the lowest level of health but fails to kill him, something terrible will happen next...

The three reward feats in this chapter are "Mastery of Shield Bash", "Mastery of Blocking" and "Wild Spellcasting".
