It’s time for the one-on-one PK with the character CoCo.
At 3 o'clock in the afternoon, Madonna and Irene Cara came to the audition room together. Director Alan Parker had already set up the camera.
Erin Cara is a black girl with a Caribbean style. She wears a pink top with a one-line collar. The neckline is very open, exposing the shoulder straps and one shoulder. The lower body is a floral skirt. It is a very typical Caribbean style.
She brought her manager with her, and a temporary makeup artist followed her.
Madonna arrived alone, with short hair and a pair of sunglasses. She was wearing denim tights and big leather boots. Ronald was already waiting for her, "This way."
Ronald took Madonna to the dressing room and asked, "Can you do your own makeup?"
"Yes, you don't have to worry. I'm in the band and I do everything by myself before going on stage."
"Do you remember everything I told you before? You were tricked by an unscrupulous director into making an adult movie. A script with lines will be given to you 5 minutes before the interview. You are ranked after Irene."
"Don't worry, I told you I'm very experienced." Madonna replied, "The music industry is the same, there are liars everywhere."
Okay, you put on your makeup first. Ronald couldn't help but worry whether she really understood the plot he revealed in advance.
When it came time to interview Erin Kara, the script given by the director only had two pages, and it contained a sad story.
An unscrupulous director who made adult movies found CoCo, promised her the status of a heroine, and then invited her to his home for an "audition." When the girl was at the highest point of hope, he asked her to take off her shirt and film some "audition material." CoCo
In order to realize my dream, I cried and did it.
Of course, during the audition, I won’t actually take off my clothes, I will just take off my jacket and still wear my underwear underneath.
But when the matter got into the hands of director Alan Parker, he made it a little more difficult. The director asked two casting directors, producers, and Ronald to go in and watch the whole scene together. He gave the auditioning actors the utmost psychological care.
pressure.
Taking off the pink turtleneck T-shirt in front of strange men and women, leaving only her underwear, was a big psychological burden for Erin Kara.
The director personally took the shots and read the lines behind the camera:
"You sit here and we want to take a beautiful close-up of your beautiful face."
Erin Kara makes a happy face.
"Not bad," Ronald himself commented on the actor's smile.
"You don't know, CoCo, you have a good chemistry with the camera. Some people are born for the camera, they can make love with the camera. Marilyn Monroe is like that, and so are you..." the director read the lines.
"Really?" Erin Kara played the role very well. She forced out an awkward smile, as if she was embarrassed to hear such explicit language, and was afraid that this was the way an artist spoke, and that she would be laughed at if she protested.
.
"Take off your shirt."
"What? Are you kidding me?" Erin Kara acted out that shock.
"Of course not. What's wrong with you? You're like a stupid art high school student. I thought you were a professional. What's the problem?" The director continued to read the lines.
Erin Kara started to unbutton her buttons. CoCo, the character in the play, thought this was a normal procedure for auditions. She was about to take off her buttons while crying, "I can't do it...ahhh..."
CoCo, the character in the play, finally took off her clothes.
The audience at the audition, especially the two men who were watching, the producer and Ronald, put pressure on the actor Irene Kara to put herself into the character's mood, and she performed brilliantly.
Erin bravely faced her heart, took off her T-shirt in order to successfully audition, folded her hands on her chest, and cried in front of everyone.
"Bravo!" the director clapped, indicating that he was very satisfied with the audition.
"How is it? My girl Erin, she is the best, she is the pride of our Latinos." Producer Da Silva breathed a sigh of relief, hugged the dressed Erin and announced to everyone,
Caribbean Latinos will have another superstar who can perform, sing and dance.
"Madonna Ciccone." Ronald went out to call someone.
"Don't be nervous, just act as you are. Didn't you say that you often encounter similar situations in the music industry? Just act according to your life experience. I believe in you, you are the best!" Ronald encouraged a few words.
Madonna nodded, sat gracefully on the audition stool, picked up the script and started reading.
"You sit here, we are going to take a beautiful close-up of your beautiful face." The director started the audition five minutes later, and he was still facing the actor himself.
Madonna quickly changed her position and presented the most beautiful left half of her face to the camera at a 45-degree angle.
Ronald thought to himself: "This is a good reaction. Girls who love beauty are easily deceived."
"You don't know, CoCo, you have a great chemistry with the camera. Some people are born for the camera, and it's like they can make love to the camera. Marilyn Monroe was like that, and so are you..."
"Really?" Madonna smiled brightly, raised her chin slightly, and imitated a classic pose of Marilyn Monroe. It was obvious that she had deliberately learned to imitate Monroe.
It's unexpectedly good. I didn't expect that Madonna looks like Monroe from certain angles, and movie audiences will definitely like it. The director seems to be smiling, and opportunity is beckoning.
"Take off your shirt."
"What? You're joking, cowboy, right?" Madonna didn't look shy or embarrassed when she said this, it was simply... flirting.
"Of course not. What's wrong with you? You're like a stupid art high school student. I thought you were a professional. Is there any problem?" The director curled his lips and continued to read the lines.
Madonna's white T-shirt had no buttons, so she simply took off her T-shirt and said, "I can do it...ah, no, I can't..."
Ronald covered his face.
"Why did you act like that in the end? That's not shyness, that's flirting." In the discussion afterwards, Madonna was eliminated without any surprise. That kind of bold and unrestrained style may be suitable for playing a porn star. Ronald drove her
She goes home.

"Oh my gosh, you have to read the script. You started off acting pretty well, but in the end you ended up flirting with the director. In the script, CoCo is a high school student and hasn't graduated yet."
"I was like this when I was in high school. I would do somersaults in the hallway wearing a cheerleading miniskirt. Then the boys would secretly look at my skirt, hahaha."
"God, did you know you were eliminated? I've explained everything to you for nothing." Ronald couldn't stand her heartlessness.
"Of course," Madonna stopped laughing and turned serious, "I'm used to it. I'm always rejected during auditions. I prefer acting to singing. But they all think I'm more talented in singing."
"But I'm 21 years old this year. If I don't stand out, there will be little hope of releasing an album in the future. In the music industry, good singles have been taken away by others. I don't want to give up and go back to my hometown in Michigan, so I
I won’t miss any opportunity.”
"This play does have some permanent actors. If you want, you can play the role of the chorus."
"'A Chorus Line' kind of thing? I want to play the leading role."
She is another girl with strong ambitions. "On the Line" is a Broadway musical, which tells the sad life of a chorus girl with a background of being a human being. It seems that she does not want to play this kind of role.
"Am I really bad at acting?" Madonna was silent for a while and then suddenly asked Ronald.
"Why do you ask?"
"When I came to New York last year, I only had 35 US dollars. I saved up money by working as a waiter in a donut shop and as a backup dancer for famous dancers. But when I auditioned, I was always told that I couldn't do it. You are the first
One said my audition was okay." Madonna looked at Ronald's gaze in the rearview mirror.
"I'm not lying to you. Your acting style at the beginning was different from that of Irene Kara, but that doesn't mean that your acting was worse than hers. She was a naive girl looking forward to the future. You only wanted to get into acting.
The material girl in the circle is also a kind of acting."
"But then," Ronald shook his head, "your performance and lines were divorced, so it's not surprising that you weren't selected."
"Why? Did I not act well? When I imitated Monroe, the director just stared at me."
"That's good, but that's not CoCo, it's yourself. Maybe you can't play someone else, Madonna. You can only play a role similar to yourself. For example, a singer, or a porn star."
"It is indeed a bit difficult to play a leading role, and it is also difficult to get into the film industry. Maybe you first make a name for yourself in music, and then someone will ask you to play a leading role. Just like Olivia Newton-John, the heroine of 'Grease'
, her songs hit the charts first, and then she was invited to the movie.”
Ronald expressed his opinion and quickly sent Madonna to her simple apartment in the East Village.
"Keep working hard and you will succeed."
Madonna got out of the car and looked back at Ronald, "Come in for a cup of coffee?"
"This..." Ronald hesitated a little.
"You know, I have never had friends like you who, to be honest, say I am good at acting, but in fact they just want to sleep with me." Madonna looked at Ronald with her big eyes.
"Well, I hope you still have some food at home."
Entering through the dark and narrow hallway, Madonna turned on the light with a bang.
"Sorry, I only have some donuts. The clerk can take a few expired ones home for free every day."
"It's okay, I also want some hot coffee."
A passionate kiss came up, and Madonna looked up at Ronald.
"Hey, you don't have to do this. I didn't let you get the role, so..." Ronald said.
Madonna hooked her hand around Ronald's neck, "You helped me, and I repay you. Isn't that good? Do you not like me? Or do you not like women?"
"No, I just hope you don't think it's unfair."
The girl looked up at him, then reached down, "But your body is saying another answer."
Ronald hugged the girl tightly and pushed her against the wall.
"Dong, dong, dong..."
The Italian guy next door started knocking on the wooden wall in the middle of the apartment and started swearing with a thick Italian accent.
"Fanculo! You've been pounding the wall for half an hour, Puttana. Tell your man to hurry up. Otherwise my wall will break."
The early morning sunlight shines on the windows of the Alphabet City apartment in the East Village. The sunlight shines in through the gaps in the curtains and shines on the bedside.
"My dear, I have to go?" Ronald, who had already taken a shower and freshened up, stood beside the bed refreshed and said, looking at the sleepy girl.
"Goodbye." Madonna turned her head away from the sun.
The moment Ronald opened the door, Madonna's voice came: "I was told that in New York, sleeping is a good way to meet new people. You are the best friend I have ever known."
Ronald started the car, pressed the button and lowered the window, letting the sun and breeze blow into the car.
"Is this the idea of each getting what he needs? Have you matured like Margery said?"
I opened the gas pedal and drove out of the apartment complex.
An Italian man stood on the side of the road, holding his five fingers together and gesturing at him: "One day, one day, I will ask the blond Puttana next door to pay for the wall.
