Chapter 7 Dry Rice

After a hard day's work, your appetite naturally increases.

Ian came to the kitchen. There were some remaining ingredients in the kitchen and cupboards.

For example, there was a piece of jerky that was probably dried from venison shank, a lot of salted fish, a small jar of brown sea salt, a small bowl of berries that smelled very sour, and a small bag of wheat bags hidden deep in the cupboard.

My uncle also brought back a piece of fresh fish when he came home, probably as an extra for his dinner tonight.

For feudal society, just having a lot of meat was considered very rich, even luxurious.

If you think about it carefully, it's not surprising.

After all, on the continent of Terra, the physical fitness of human beings is far better than that of ordinary people in the Middle Ages on Earth. Everyone can be regarded as a strongman when they reach adulthood. Their productivity will be higher, and their living standards will definitely be better.

"Not bad, it looks like we can still make some delicious food."

You're welcome, Ian. Although his uncle is dead, the fish must not be wasted.

The giant fish was still fresh and had been disemboweled and its internal organs removed. He set up a pot on the stove, filled it halfway with water, and then used the stored fire to light the straw and dry wood chips.

After the fire was strong, Ian added some firewood he chopped, threw the dried meat that had been cleaned of oil and dust on the surface, boiled it with water, and then went to deal with the fish scales.

As the water gradually boiled, he crushed a few berries that tasted like lemons, smeared the juice all over the inside and outside of the fish, then applied a layer of meat juice and salt, skewered it with wooden skewers, and placed it in front of the stove slowly.

bake.

Gradually, the aroma spreads, the outside of the anchovy is already crispy, but the inside is still very tender. The taste of sour berries and gravy is mixed together, which is quite appetizing. The broth is also steaming, and the original and rich aroma gurgling.

Toss in the pan.

On this joyful night of getting rid of evil, it is a complete pleasure to have a hot pot of broth and grilled fish.

Ian has always believed that you can be casual about everything, but when it comes to eating, you can be more meticulous.

"It should be almost done!"

Seeing that the heat was sufficient, Ian took off the grilled fish. He took a bite and his tongue was immediately burned, but then he narrowed his eyes and mumbled: "Well, it tastes good!"

Although the grilled fish tastes a bit bitter due to the lack of spices and insufficient salt, the taste is indeed crispy and clear, and the pure protein chews into the stomach, and the satisfaction is incomparable.

After eating a few bites of grilled fish, Ian scooped up another spoonful of broth and drank it.

To be honest, the fiber of dried venison stew is too thick, the texture is slightly hard, and there is not a lot of oil, but it is very chewy and is also an important source of nutrients. The hot gravy is full of original energy flavor and also has the Maillard reaction.

The burnt aroma and umami flavor.

Earnestly swallowing the precious nutrients into his belly, Ian even had the illusion that his body was rapidly absorbing all the nutrients from the food and converting them into physical strength and growth energy for his body.

Maybe... it's not an illusion.

Ian thought thoughtfully and took a bite of fish.

After all, Terran humans are not Earthlings. It is completely understandable that their bodies are extremely strong and their digestion and absorption capabilities are stronger.

But for him, perhaps because of his awakening of spiritual energy... He now feels that his body is open to all kinds of nutritional sources and is completely absorbed!

However, instinct and common sense told him that ordinary Terrans, no matter how strong their digestion capabilities were, would not be able to recover their physical strength after eating food for more than ten seconds like he was doing now.

Ian can now almost clearly feel that his cells are jumping for joy, and all the tissues and organs in his body are absorbing nutrients. This desire is almost like hunger, making his heart beat faster, breathing rapid, and blood surging under his body.

, delivers oxygen and nutrients to the endings of blood vessels.

"I couldn't eat so much meat in the past, but now, I'm just filling my hunger, far from being full."

Feeling his body absorb nutrients and chewing the food in his mouth, Ian thought deeply.

He thought of Oceana's deformed right leg and couldn't help but frown: "That's very strange. Do tumors appear there in ordinary people? This level of physical deformation rarely occurs even if genetic modification fails."

"Perhaps psychic and other powers are involved? In short, the true power of the Terran people should be far beyond the superficial knowledge I know."

Ian might be able to make a rough guess about the abnormality in his body.

Leaving aside factors such as Terra's psychic powers for the time being, similar situations have occurred among genetic adjusters on Earth.

On Earth in the Age of Stars, everyone has experienced genetic modification. To humans in the past, everyone is a little superman, infinitely powerful and tireless. They can freely control the hormone secretion of their own bodies and can enter the ultimate state at any time.

However, all kinds of powerful genetic organs, strengthened muscles, and steeled bones all require nutrients, even special nutrients, to develop and mature.

After testing, it was found that if a perfect genetic adjuster is unable to consume a large amount of protein and carbohydrates in his childhood, all his genes and organs will be delayed in development, or even stop growing completely.

In this way, the original superman becomes a mortal.

Naturally, genetic adjusters that have not successfully developed are still more powerful than ordinary humans, but they are still only in the realm of mortals.

Ian feels that many ordinary people in Terra Continent may be in a similar situation.

They have great potential within them, but due to the social system or lack of productivity, ordinary Terrans cannot fully tap the potential in their bodies.

"The Terrans of the past were probably far more powerful creatures than the Terrans of today. They might have been genetically modified, or they might have been some kind of magical creature or psychic creature. The nouns can be changed at will, but the meaning behind them is the same."

"However, due to various reasons such as the cessation of spiritual energy, the cessation of the demonic tide, a world-class nuclear war, climate change, or even a meteorite falling, the past civilization has lost its productivity guarantee. Although the Terran people still maintain their former

The characteristics of advanced races have lost their related power."

Just making a random guess, Ian didn't think about it in detail, he just put his past earth's situation into another world.

He has watched a lot of novels and movies, so he will naturally guess more possibilities in this regard, but these are not important.

"It's better to be full than not full, whether it's magic, psychic energy, or something else, this is absolutely true."

Chewing the venison in his mouth carefully and staring at the boiling gravy and bubbles in the pot, Ian's mind was like a mirror: "The nutritional intake in childhood will greatly affect future growth. It is always right to eat more, even if it is ordinary food."

People must also supplement enough nutrients to become strong."

"My spiritual power can find most of the secret special resources and materials in this world... This is the source of future wealth and the guarantee of life."

Thinking of this, he bit off the crispy fish bones in his mouth. Ian crunched the fish bones into pieces and swallowed them.

He looked solemn: "The premise is that I can grow up stably and get enough nutrition."

"Every time you eat is important and precious."

Being certain of this made him eat more freely.

Soon, I was full and full.

Ian, who had fully recovered his strength, stood up.

He once again opened his 'precognitive vision'.
