698 Two tanks captured

 28th Regiment Station.

The remains of the soldiers who died in the First World War in Xiaoli Village have been buried.

Commander Lu led the entire regiment to see off the fallen soldiers, took off their hats and saluted.

Fighting means sacrifice is unavoidable. During war, the people are like grass. For the sake of national freedom and independence, the soldiers who have put life and death aside for a long time will suffer when facing life and death, but they will never lose their fighting spirit.

After everything was over, the soldiers hid the grief of the sacrifice of their comrades deep in their hearts, cheered up again, and continued to fight against the Japs.

28th Regiment resident training ground.

Looking at it, there is no one in front of me, but for the soldiers, it is also a rare thing of the Japs - the Type 92 ultra-light tank.

Captain Lu's face was filled with laughter.

I had a conversation with the commander before, but I don’t know where he got the information. Not only did he know that the 28th Regiment won the battle in Xiaoli Village and defeated more than 500 Japanese puppet troops.

I even heard about the tanks captured by the 28th Regiment.

"Lu Dayou, you guys can do it. I heard that after this battle, you also captured two tanks?"

When Captain Lu heard this, he immediately said without changing his expression.

"Commander, who are you listening to?

The little devil's tank is so easy to capture.

Yes, we brought back some tank wreckage after the battle, but it had already been blown up to the point where it was useless. It was just a pile of scrap metal.

If you take it back and melt it, you can make a few farm tools."

"If you want it, I'll send you some when the farm tools are ready."

"It's just the grenades and light machine guns I promised you before, so that doesn't count!"

On the other end of the phone, the commander was not sure whether the brigade commander's words were reliable.

After thinking about it, I stopped asking about the tank.

What Captain Lu said before was right. It is not easy to capture Japanese tanks. At least in the entire Hebei Province, we have been fighting the Japanese for so many years, and we have never heard of any army capturing tanks.

It's hard to beat an iron bastard who is a Japs.

Anti-tank operations are extremely difficult for the Eighth Route Army, which lacks anti-tank firepower and even has no anti-tank weapons at all.

On the other hand, the little devil also attaches great importance to tanks.

Sometimes once a Japanese tank is lost, the Japanese will immediately launch a massive attack and retaliate until the tank is recaptured.

So at the end of the phone call, the commander gave one more advice:

"Lv Dayou, I won't ask about the tank. If your 28th Regiment really captures the tank, you must find a way to protect it and transfer it in time. The Japanese will not just watch their tank fall into our hands.

"What tank? There is no tank...it's just a pile of junk. However, since you said so, Commander, I will definitely take it to heart!"

Pat--

After hanging up the phone, Captain Lu breathed a sigh of relief.

But he said that after the battle in Xiaoli Village ended.

The Japanese were in such a hurry to evacuate that the four Doudin tanks did remain on the battlefield.

It's just that when the Japanese's four Doudin tanks attacked Xiaoli Village, two of them were directly blown up by the monk and his party with explosive packs.

The two tanks were the most unlucky. One was directly blown into pieces by a triangular anti-tank mine group arranged with explosive packs.

The engine of the other one was destroyed, and most of the armor on the side was also blown off. It was obviously scrapped.

In addition, the armor of this little devil's Doudin tank is so weak that it can't be used as a protective steel plate even if it is pulled back.

At most, they can be used as raw materials for smelting and reproduction.

There was also a car whose tracks were blown off by Duan Peng using a slap cannon.

The other car was mortared by the monk, and the roof was directly blown off.

When the battle in Xiaoli Village came to an end, the monk kept thinking about the two tanks that had not been completely blown up.

The soldiers made a detour early in the morning, dragged out the Japanese tank soldiers who had died inside the tank, and then began to repair the tank.

Tools for tank maintenance can be found inside the tank. Japanese tanks are prone to malfunctions in battle, and Japanese tank soldiers often carry maintenance tools.

As for how to perform some not-so-complex maintenance on tanks, Monk and Duan Peng have learned this specifically in the regiment.

Not long ago, the regiment leader Kong Jie wrote a theoretical booklet specifically for machine repair, which introduced in detail how to carry out emergency repairs in response to various damages and problems on the tank.

Like one of the tanks, the track was blown off.

The monk ordered the soldiers to remove the tracks from other Japanese tanks and attach them to this tank, which was still worth repairing.

On another tank, the top turret was damaged, but the engine inside was intact.

As long as the power system is not damaged, Monk and Duan Peng are confident that they can repair the tank and drive it back to the base.

Otherwise, even the Japanese Doudin tank weighs 3.5 tons, and the 28th Regiment does not have heavy-duty tractor vehicles. There is almost no way to pull such a scrapped tank back to its roots.

Normally, when the Eighth Route Army seizes a tank, if it doesn't work, it will throw cluster grenades inside the tank, completely blowing up the tank, and then take the remains of the tank back for recycling.

When the two Doudin tanks were quickly repaired.

Duan Peng and Monk each drove the tank towards the 28th Regiment's station with the cooperation of the soldiers of the guard company.

The soldiers of the 28th Regiment were all excited and full of admiration.

He is indeed an elite member of the Independent Regiment, a good guy, he can even drive a tank.

"Captain Lu, our commander said when we came here that we would do our best to help the comrades of the 28th Regiment. These two tanks should be regarded as a meeting gift from our independent regiment to your 28th Regiment!"

On the training ground, when the monk spoke like this, Captain Lu was almost overjoyed.

Apart from being excited, what else could he say?

"As expected of Lao Kong, this move is really grand!"

Duan Peng added abruptly from the side, "It's just... Captain Lu, our captain also said that the meeting gift he sent out will be deducted from the salary of your 28th regiment when we cooperate with each other!"

"..."

Captain Lu was speechless for a moment.

The smile on his face instantly solidified on his face.

He suddenly felt that the tank in front of him was no longer so fragrant.

This guy is a huge profiteer.

Could it be that he was led astray by hanging out with Lao Li all these years?

"Our terrain in central Hebei Province is flat, so tanks actually don't play much of a role. Once they encounter the Japanese, they are just living targets. I think if Lao Kong wants these two tanks, he'd better find a way to send them to your independent group!"
Commander Lu was really scared, there were two tanks!

Who knows how much that guy Lao Kong will deduct from his salary?

But the monk threw a huge temptation towards Captain Lu.

"Captain Lu, do you know the semi-mechanized heavy-armed force formed by our independent regiment?"

Captain Lu nodded.

"I've heard that it's one of the ace troops of your independent regiment."

"The semi-mechanized heavy-armed force of our independent regiment is a diversified coordinated combat force composed of the original cavalry company plus motorized units and some armored vehicles and tanks."

The monk slowly spoke:

"Currently, Captain Lu, you have 28 regiments of cavalry and troops, but you are just missing some armored vehicles and tanks. If these two tanks can be equipped in the cavalry company, and the cavalry-tank coordination tactics are well trained, it will definitely improve the combat effectiveness of the cavalry company.

A big chunk."

After hearing this, Commander Lu was really moved.

Duan Peng added with a smile: "In addition, our regiment leader said that because our Eighth Route Army's equipment is backward and ammunition is scarce, the little devils generally do not have any anti-tank weapons on hand to deal with our Eighth Route Army."

"What does this mean? It is very difficult for us to conduct anti-tank operations, but if we have tanks in our hands, it will be equally difficult for the little devils to conduct anti-tank operations."

"Let's just say that a Japanese squadron only has crooked weapons and grenade launchers. What can they use for anti-tank operations?"

"So if the two tanks we captured are used properly on the battlefield, coupled with the coordination of our infantry, they can use infantry-tank coordination tactics that are far superior to the little Japs. They can even defeat the little Japs without the ability to fight back.

."

"This is a weapon that can be used as the 28th regiment's trump card!"

Cough cough cough——

Captain Lu coughed lightly.

"The Independent Regiment has a great cause, so how could Lao Kong care about these two ultra-light tanks? In addition, the journey to the Independent Regiment is long, time-consuming and labor-intensive, and the Japanese might even stop them midway. I don't think so.

It’s better to keep these two tanks with our 28th Regiment.”

"Oh, by the way, Monk, Duan Peng, then I will leave it to you two to combine cavalry with tanks and coordinate infantry and tank training."

Monk, Duan Peng: "..."

I was speechless for a moment, didn’t I just shoot myself in the foot?
