793 Ambush Thirty minutes

…

Xiaoquangou Road.

Taking advantage of the Second Independent Regiment's third-line defensive position on the left flank of Dafengzhuang, the main force of the Yamauchi United Force was held back.

Sun Zhenguo, the commander of the first battalion of the New Regiment, led the soldiers of the direct bicycle team, riding more than 150 modified bicycles of various types, and quickly circled on the mountain path towards the back of the mountain alliance.

This is the advantage of the direct driving force.

Utilizing the mobility of a large number of modified bicycles, the roundabout speed of the straight-moving team is much greater than that of conventional infantry.

After completing most of the planned trip.

The reconnaissance post, which was posted a few hundred meters away on the flank, rode back to report:

"Battal Commander, the situation is not good. About a mile away, we saw Japanese cavalry troops and tanks appearing, crossing towards our direction."

"The opponent's speed is faster than ours. If this continues, sooner or later they will get in front of us."

Sun Zhenguo nodded. He had already received information about the Japanese mobile troops.

"This is the Japanese tank unit and cavalry unit. It seems that the Japanese want to block our roundabout from the flanks."

"Batalion Commander, what should we do now?"

His mind turned sharply. Sun Zhenguo thought for a while and said: "Our mission now is to quickly detour back to the back of the Shanuchi Regiment. If we are really entangled by the Japanese tanks and cavalry units, the detour mission will be a complete failure."<

/p>

"Our bicycles may not be rivals of Japanese tanks."

"...In this way, no matter how powerful the Japanese cavalry and tanks are, they still need to walk on a flat mountain road, and they can't climb hills.

We turned around and saw the westward slope. It wasn't too steep. We carried the car on our backs and took a roundabout way back to the mountain road on the other side.

If we want to deal with the Japanese cavalry and tanks, we must run in front of them in advance and then find a way to set up an ambush, otherwise we will be passive."

"Yes!"

After Sun Zhenguo's order was conveyed quickly, the soldiers changed direction and abandoned the originally flat and comfortable mountain road.

A group of several people first carried, carried, and dragged the bicycles up the west-facing hillside.

After a while of work, we reached the small mountain road on the back side of the west hillside, and then we went straight to the queue and started on the road again.

This is another major advantage of bicycles. The body is lightweight and easier to transfer.

The leader of the first anti-tank combat team of the independent regiment, who accompanied the new regiment's direct driving team to take the lead, told Sun Zhenguo:

"Batalion Commander Sun, we are moving in a hurry this time, and the anti-tank gun is not light, so we cannot bring it here.

We just brought some anti-tank mines and some explosive bags, but we need time.

It will take at least thirty minutes, and we can lay traps in advance on the road where the Japanese tanks must pass."

Hearing this, there was no hesitation on Sun Zhenguo's face.

"Okay, then I'll buy you thirty minutes.

As for the specific ambush location, how about putting it on the mountain road a mile away?"

"Okay!"

After making up his mind, Sun Zhenguo immediately made combat arrangements.

"The mountain road one mile away is used as a specific location to block Japanese tanks and cavalry troops.

Platoon one and two will stay and fight with me to buy at least thirty minutes for the comrades of the independent regiment.

For the purpose of subsequent retreat, heavy weapons should not be left behind.

Rows of three and four, continue to drive our straight vehicles to retreat into the distance, luring the Japanese troops to pursue them."

The direct driving team created by Ding Wei has nearly 200 members and about 150 vehicles.

It is divided into four direct driving combat platoons. Each platoon has a number of people equivalent to the reinforced platoon, about fifty people.

Sun Zhenguo left the first and second platoons of soldiers armed with light weapons to block the pursuing Japanese troops on the hillsides on both sides of the road.

The soldiers in the third and fourth platoons, under the command of the company commander of the direct vehicle, rode modified bicycles and checked in some extra two-wheeled bicycles, and continued to move further away.

When running on rugged mountain roads, the speed of war horses is more flexible and lighter than tanks.

The roar of the tanks was far behind.

Miki, the leader of the Japanese cavalry squadron, had already taken the lead in leading the Japanese cavalry around for a certain distance and arrived at the back side of the slope where the soldiers of the new regiment had evacuated.

Miki rode his horse and stood on a dirt bun.

Taking advantage of the raised terrain, Miki saw through the telescope the straight-moving vehicle team that continued to evacuate in the distance.

There was a bit of contempt on the corner of his mouth.

"The cunning Tubal Road changed direction midway and used the previous slope to block our army's pursuit.

Interesting!

They even used some bicycles as means of transportation to form such a nondescript bicycle team.

Give me my order and pursue them quickly. We must not let these idiots escape!"

"Hi!"

The communications soldier responded and turned around to deliver the order.

The Japanese adjutant asked instead: "Your Excellency, Squadron Leader, Mr. Nakamura's tank team is still behind. Should we wait for the tanks to arrive before pursuing them?"

Miki shook his head. As a quite traditional cavalryman, his deep love for war horses and cavalry tactics made him have a grudge against the tank troops that gradually replaced the cavalry troops.

"No need!"

"On such mountain roads, heavy chariots are far inferior to the flexibility of our cavalry."

"Your Excellency, the commander of the regiment, has a very clear order. Let us cut off the eighth route's mobile troops and take a detour. I'm afraid Nakamura's tank team will not be able to count on it."

"Let's attack first, hold off this group of eight troops, and then wait for tank reinforcements."

"Hi!"

……

Sun Zhenguo led the first and second platoons of No. 100 soldiers to hide in time, so that the Japanese reconnaissance troops only focused on the straight-moving formations that continued to evacuate, instead of detecting the ambush troops lurking with the help of the lush trees on both sides.

.

"Thirty minutes, as long as we can get thirty minutes, using the methods of the independent regiment's anti-tank combat team, it shouldn't be a problem to kill the Japanese tanks."

Sun Zhenguo seemed to be comforting himself or telling the two platoon leaders beside him.

What worries him most now is... "All we have left are light infantry, not even a heavy machine gun.

If the Japanese came in advance with cavalry, it would be okay. If they were to engage in ambush warfare, they would be easier to fight than infantry.

But what if the enemy’s tank comes first..."

For the rest, Sun Zhenguo did not say that if the Japanese tank troops were really the first to pursue them, according to the intelligence, the Japanese even used medium tanks this time.

With these rifles and light machine guns in the hands of the ambush soldiers, it is impossible to threaten the Japanese tanks.

Just as he was calming down and thinking, the reconnaissance sentry returned with his body bent and reported with a joyful face: "Battalion Commander, it's the cavalry. The Japanese cavalry came first!"

"Great!"

Sun Zhenguo's clenched fist smashed down hard.

Although according to his speculation, cavalry is more flexible than tanks on mountain roads, and the Japanese cavalry troops should walk in front of the Japanese tanks.

But since the situation was not certain, he felt a little confused.

Now I finally let out a sigh of relief.

"Signal Corps, order all squads to get ready for battle. Each machine gunner has memorized it. When he fires later, try to shoot at the little Japs on the war horses.

After quickly resolving the battle at the front, I still hope to use the Japanese war horses to quickly catch up with our team!"

"Yes!" The communications soldier crouched and turned around to convey the order.

"Every unit is ready for battle!"

"The battalion commander told me to aim at people as much as possible and don't hurt the horses!"
