Chapter 550 Arranged Lockhart

Late at night, the storm became more and more unbridled.

The lights in the Hogwarts Headmaster's office were still on, and Dumbledore was sitting at his desk, flipping through the latest issue of "Transfiguration Today" by candlelight.

Beside the desk, a copy of the "Daily Prophet" was spread out casually, and the contents of the newspaper could be read clearly by the candlelight:

Arthur Weasley, Director of the Ministry of Magic's Department of Misuse of Muggle Artefacts, was fined fifty Galleons for enchanting a Muggle car.

An enchanted car crashed at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. One of the school's directors, Mr. Lucius Malfoy, recently called to demand Mr. Weasley's immediate resignation.

"Mr. Weasley has ruined the reputation of the Ministry of Magic," Malfoy told our reporter.

Mr. Weasley did not respond to our reporter's request, but his wife told the reporter to leave or she would unleash her ghouls to bite them.

There was no doubt that Arthur Weasley was in trouble and that he was being targeted by a group of people.

Of course, it has a lot to do with the fact that some of Arthur's actions annoyed the pure-blood wizards headed by Malfoy.

To be honest, the Office for the Misuse of Muggle Artefacts is not taken very seriously in the Ministry of Magic. It is suspicious that Arthur was able to obtain the search warrant approval.

You must know that pure-blood wizards occupy important positions in the Ministry of Magic, and they cannot allow officials from the Ministry of Magic to harass them at will.

The search warrant issue was obviously done deliberately and pushed behind the scenes.

Currently, Arthur's situation is very bad. Although he has not been expelled from the Ministry of Magic for some reasons, the suspension review is still ongoing.

Many wizards who have trouble with Arthur hope that Arthur Weasley will be expelled from the Ministry of Magic to prevent the passage of the "Muggle Protection Act" he drafted. Many pure-blood wizards feel that they are offended by this law.

.

Just now, Dumbledore wrote a letter to Fudge, persuading the other party to allow Arthur to remain in the Ministry of Magic as Director of the Office for the Suppression of the Misuse of Muggle Items on the grounds that he agreed to temporarily delay the passage of the Muggle Protection Act.

In fact, Fudge was also having a headache about this matter.

No wizard is willing to take over the Office for the Prohibition of Misuse of Muggle Items. This position has an average salary, low remuneration, and is extremely busy. It also requires frequent dealings with Muggles. The most important thing is that there are only two wizards in this position.

Probably only a weirdo like Arthur would like such a job.

What made Dumbledore worse was actually another thing.

This morning, Dumbledore received a note from Anderson, which contained something that concerned Dumbledore extremely.

Harry Potter can hear sounds that ordinary people can't.

This doesn't bode well in the wizarding world.

Moreover, the note said at the end: Something bad might happen.

Bad things?

Dumbledore couldn't tell whether these words were true or false, but there was no doubt that they were not a good thing.

"Hearing sounds that others can't hear, something bad happened?" When Dumbledore was trying to connect the two things, there was a knock on the door outside the room.

Dumbledore put down the magazine, stood up in confusion, walked over and opened the door, and found that the person coming was Professor McGonagall.

Professor McGonagall placed a document on her desk.

"Is there anything else?" Dumbledore saw that Professor McGonagall seemed to have something to say.

"I wonder if you have paid attention to Professor Lockhart." Professor McGonagall said with a hint of dissatisfaction in her tone, "He has made a mess in the Defense Against the Dark Arts class. Many students have come to us to complain about this."

In the past, after Lockhart became famous for writing books, the professors at Hogwarts felt that they might have misjudged him and thought that he was contributing to the fight against dark magic.

As a result, Lockhart's true nature was revealed after he had only been at Hogwarts for a month, and everyone had already seen his true face.

Lockhart was still the same Lockhart who went to school at Hogwarts more than ten years ago. He had not changed at all. They had never missed him at all.

"I know it's hard to find a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, but what Professor Lockhart does is really unacceptable." Professor McGonagall reminded, "In almost all classes, he is reading to the students the contents of the book.

, let students go on stage to perform the scene at that time, it is really hard for me to imagine what students can learn from this vain fame-seeking person."

"You can learn a lot from a bad teacher." Dumbledore said calmly, "Don't do certain things and don't be certain people."

Professor McGonagall was silent. She felt that what Professor Dumbledore said did make sense, but it would require students to take a semester's Defense Against the Dark Arts course in exchange. The price was a bit high.

"I think you don't want someone like Lockhart to appear among your students." Dumbledore smiled, "Besides, I really can't find a more suitable candidate for a while. Minerva

, you should also know that since Quirrell's death, no one is willing to come to Hogwarts to be the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, and its reputation is really bad."

"Okay, I'll tell everyone what you mean." Professor McGonagall sighed and left the principal's office. He actually knew that Dumbledore could always find a way to convince himself.

Looking at Professor McGonagall's leaving back, Dumbledore fell into a brief silence. Ever since he rejected Voldemort, no Defense Against the Dark Arts professor has been able to teach for more than one year.

Many people say this course is cursed.

In fact, there is nothing wrong with this statement. Once or twice can be an accident...but fifty times cannot be an accident.

As for what Lockhart had done, Dumbledore had actually known about it for a long time. After seeing some familiar content in Lockhart's book, he took the time to visit his former friend and noticed that the other party's

After becoming forgetful and confused, he realized that this was the sequelae of being cast a powerful forgetting spell.

Lockhart is stealing other people's work.

Dumbledore didn't bother to expose the internationally renowned writer's scam, and even if he did expose Lockhart in the end, it wouldn't mean much.

It is usually difficult for people who have been cast a powerful forgetting spell to return to normal. Breaking the forgetting spell will only make everything worse.

Of course, Dumbledore did not intend to just let Lockhart go. He had already thought of a way to expose the other party's scam.

That's right, as long as Lockhart is put into an ordinary school life, his scam will gradually be exposed.

When Lockhart was studying at Hogwarts, Dumbledore was already the principal of the school. He really knew this student who was hated by professors and students.

That's why Dumbledore tried his best to invite Lockhart to be the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. It happened that it was difficult to find a professor for this course every year, and Dumbledore believed that the curse of Defense Against the Dark Arts could also make Lockhart suffer.

.

Facts have proved that this trick is indeed very effective, and everyone has gradually seen what kind of person Lockhart is.
