Chapter 789

In order to avoid being discovered by others as they left the castle, Harry, Ron and Hermione were huddled under the invisibility cloak, carefully tiptoeing through the Great Hall, and when they walked down the stone steps in front of the gate, the sun was almost setting in the Forbidden Forest.

It's behind.

Crookshanks had been warned repeatedly by Hermione and obediently followed the three of them to Hagrid's hut.

Standing in front of Hagrid's hut, Harry carefully looked around and made sure that no one was around before raising his hand and knocking on the door. The door quickly opened from the inside, and Hagrid stuck his head out and looked around carefully, but couldn't find him.

Visiting guests.

Finally, Hagrid noticed a cat at his feet. It just passed by his feet, got into the house, and began to sniff the surrounding scent.

A cat, knocking on the door?

Hagrid thought his idea was ridiculous.

"It's us, Hagrid." Harry's voice suddenly came from the side, "Don't look, we are wearing invisibility cloaks."

"Why did you come just now? It's almost night."

Hagrid took a step back, waited for the three of them to enter the room, and said to Harry who had taken off his invisibility cloak, "Didn't I say there is only one class in the afternoon? You should come earlier."

"Sorry Hagrid, I have a lot of classes in the afternoon." Hermione was also very helpless. She had to attend more classes than Harry and Ron, so she couldn't skip class specifically to help Hagrid catch mice.

"Is this your cat?" Hagrid looked at Crookshanks. He didn't say anything about being late. He got up and went to make tea for the three of them and brought a plate of biscuits. "It looks better than Albert's."

As long as he is alert, his cat will be afraid of mice."

"And there are cats that are afraid of mice?" Ron felt incredible.

"Yeah, Albert's cat is just like that. It's lazy, very fat, and it's hard to walk. Others thought it was a pig when they saw it." Hagrid smiled and looked at the cat who was searching for the scent of mice.

Crookshanks said, "A good cat is a cat that can catch mice. But to Albert, it doesn't matter whether his cat catches mice or not."

Peter, who was hiding in the milk jug in the cupboard and eavesdropping on their conversation, was in a state of collapse at the moment. He never expected that Hagrid would actually find a cat to catch mice.

What is this?

I thought it was just a casual talk, but I didn't expect that Hagrid actually found a cat to catch mice, and the cat he found was actually the same cat that kept chasing him.

The cat was crazy and wouldn't let go of him, as if there was some deep hatred between the two parties.

If Peter hadn't known about Black's Animagus black dog, he would have even suspected that the black cat was Black's transformation.

Now I just pray that the crazy cat will leave quickly after catching the mouse.

The conversation in the room was still going on, but they couldn't understand Peter's complicated mood.

"Hagrid, what happened last time?" Harry asked in a low voice.

Hagrid poured a cup of amber tea for each of the three people, stared at Crookshanks who was looking for mice everywhere, and casually replied: "What's going on?"

"At that time, we were wearing invisibility cloaks and hiding nearby to peek. Buckbeak disappeared without warning before he was executed." Ron asked in a low voice.

"I don't know, he probably ran away." Hagrid made a hissing gesture to the three Harrys, indicating that they should stop discussing the matter.

Even though the matter had already passed, Hagrid knew that this matter must be kept completely secret, otherwise someone would find out one day, and God knows what would happen.

Harry, Hermione and Ron all understood what Hagrid meant. Although they were confused and wanted to know the truth, they stopped asking about the matter. It was clear from Hagrid's appearance that he had no intention of revealing the information.

"Look, it caught the first mouse." Hagrid abruptly diverted the three people's attention.

Crookshanks had just crawled out from under Hagrid's bed with a dead rat in his mouth.

"You're a very powerful cat. It didn't take long for you to catch the mouse." Hagrid picked up the dead mouse thrown away by Crookshanks from the ground and sighed softly.

Hermione's Crookshanks was really powerful. After a while, she caught three mice in Hagrid's hut and knocked over a bottle in the process.

Peter, who was hiding in the milk can, was cowering in fear, fearing that he would be discovered by the crazy cat, which would cause all his efforts to be wasted and expose himself to everyone's view.

Unfortunately, Peter could not escape Crookshanks' nose after all. After the rat-catching expert Crookshanks killed the fourth mouse under the kitchen cabinet, he finally set his sights on the cupboard.

Seeing that Crookshanks found the mouse again, Hermione reached out to grab the cat and lifted it to Hagrid's cupboard.

Crookshanks immediately focused on the milk jug where Peter was hiding.

Peter, hiding in the milk jug, felt like he was going crazy.

Why is he so unlucky!

Damn it!

Damn it.

When Hermione took the milk jug off the cupboard and opened the lid, she was startled by what came out of it. When her fingers let go, the milk jug fell from Hermione's hand to the ground and broke into a pile of pieces.

.

Peter, who was hiding in the milk jug, ran away immediately after the jug broke, trying his best to crawl under the cupboard to avoid becoming the ghost of the crazy cat.

"What's wrong, Hermione?"

The three of them were startled by Hermione's exclamation. They turned their heads and saw the milk jug that had fallen to pieces and a big rat.

"Scabbers, why are you here?" Ron stared blankly at the mouse that quickly slipped under the cabinet.

Crookshanks jumped up, growled lowly, and began to dig furiously under the cupboard with his front paws.

"Crookshanks, don't do this." Hermione grabbed Crookshanks' waist, lifted it with difficulty and put it somewhere else to prevent it from killing Scabbers.

"Is it really Scabbers?" Harry asked doubtfully. Wasn't Scabbers eaten by Crookshanks a while ago? Ron and Hermione had a big fight over this.

"No, I'm not wrong." Ron lay on the ground, trying to catch the mouse hidden under the cabinet, but was bitten, and his painful screams echoed in the room.

After a lot of effort, Ron finally caught the struggling rat and lifted it to a place with light to observe carefully.

It was indeed Ban Ban. He was thinner than before, and his fur fell off a lot, leaving patches of bare skin.

The mouse squirmed in Ron's hand, as if desperately trying to get free.

"Scabbers, it's me, Ron." Ron asked Hermione to get the cat away, "As long as I'm here, nothing will hurt you here!"

Ron tried to keep Scabbers in his pocket, but the rat became violent, screaming wildly, twisting and kicking, biting Ron's hand again, and when he let go in pain,

It slipped out from Ron's fingers, fell to the ground and ran away desperately.

Crookshanks broke free from Hermione's hand and chased after him so fast that Harry and Hermione had no time to stop him.

As for Ron, after seeing Crookshanks removing Scabbers, he immediately chased after him.

"Hermione, let's go take a look too." After Harry said that, he hurried after Ron.

"Wait Harry." Hermione vaguely felt something was wrong and cast a pleading look at Hagrid.

"Oh my God! What the hell is going on?"

Hagrid looked at the three people who left in a hurry. He was still confused, but he was not worried about letting Harry, Hermione and Ron run around at night, so he prepared to follow them out, but it was already very dark outside, so

Hagrid turned back and got an oil lamp before catching up again.
