Chapter 109: Minutes of Pukong

"Da Leiyin Temple will definitely have a backup plan this time."

Li Chen raised his head slightly, but saw that Monk Miao Di's eyes were firm and he didn't seem to be talking nonsense.

Immediately, he responded in a low voice: "Thank you, I will be careful."

Monk Miaodi nodded and turned to leave.

Li Chen looked at his back, thought for a moment, then turned to look in the direction of Lei Yin Buddha.

But he saw that he was already facing the second monk.

Li Chen exhaled a breath of turbid air and thought secretly in his heart: The soldiers are coming to cover up the water and earth.

Now I started looking for a second opponent.

The second person he met was a middle-aged monk.

His eyes were narrowed into a slit, and a little sparkle shone out from his eyes, making him look very shrewd.

When he saw that the other party was a disciple of the Buddha, he was not worried but happy.

[So what if the disciple of the Killing Buddha has deep wisdom? He is so young, even if he has been listening to Buddhist scriptures since he was born, he is no match for Lao Na now!]

[Lao Na is the existence known as the ‘Mobile Sutra Pavilion’! 】

"Amitabha."

"Little monk, Shasheng Temple, Li Chen, I have met my senior."

【What a polite little monk~】

"Amitabha."

"Lao Na, I have met Master Lichen in Minute Temple and Pukong."

The old monk nodded, looked at the legendary Buddhist disciple up and down, and then asked directly: "What are the meanings of the four fruits of sound-hearing?"

Li Chen secretly thought: Sure enough, Master Pukong's Zen inquiry is deeper.

"This cloud of Sotapanna pre-flows, which is said to be the first foreshadowing of the holy flow. After seven lives and deaths, one can obtain an Arahant. As soon as this cloud of Sotapanna comes and goes, one time of life and death, one obtains an Arahant. Anagami does not return this cloud and spends his whole life.

Then you will become an Arhat. An Arhat has no rebirth, which means he will never come back to the three realms to be reborn. This is the ultimate of the four fruits."

The old monk Pukong was surprised. He had long expected that this Buddhist disciple who killed people must have extraordinary Buddhist dharma, but he did not expect that when the other party answered, there was no hesitation at all.

[It seems that this life-killing Buddha is much more difficult to deal with than I imagined.]

At this moment, Li Chen suddenly asked: "People in the past are not people in this world. People in this world are not people in the future. How can they eat the fruit and receive retribution?"

As soon as the old monk heard this question, his heart tightened: the question of this Buddhist disciple who killed living beings was really tricky.

But soon he smiled, thinking that if he were to compete in cultivation, he might be lacking.

But if it's Buddhism, well, I haven't obeyed anyone yet, even if I kill a Buddhist disciple, I have to teach him a lesson!

Immediately he said directly: "Although the bodies are different, the minds are not different, so there are things that are not ignorant of the antecedents, such as knotting grass to hold a ring."

Li Chen nodded, but saw that the monk in front of him had a calm face, as if the question he just asked did not seem to cause any hesitation to the other person.

After the old monk pondered for a moment, he suddenly asked: "What is the blazing prosperity of the five Yins?"

This question is a bit heartbreaking.

Everyone knows that this murderer of the Buddha and Princess Shenxiu of the Xiangfei Valley cut the bamboos and combined them with each other. In fact, there is the worry of desire in Buddhism.

So the old monk had this question.

[Young people, you probably don’t know much about love, so you may slowly fall into my old man’s trap. 】

Li Chen secretly felt funny in his heart. This old monk seemed to be completely kept in the dark.

"My body and mind can be divided into five types: one color, two feelings, three thoughts, four elements, and five consciousnesses. Yin is a covering, which is always shrouded and difficult to escape, so it is called blazing. For example, the desire for sound and color arises at every turn,

There will be disturbing and distressing sufferings at the time of the incident, and physical and mental illness afterwards, which is the most severe suffering. Moreover, because of the karma created, the consequences will be repaid later, especially those who are the forerunners of all the sufferings."

The old monk was surprised when he saw this. He didn't expect the other party to be so calm. He asked without mercy: "How are the twelve causes and conditions continuing?"

When Li Chen saw this, he naturally did not dare to be cautious at all: "Ignorance is the cause of conditioned action, conditioned action gives rise to consciousness, conditioned consciousness gives rise to name and form, conditioned name and form give rise to the six senses, conditioned six senses give rise to contact, conditioned contact gives rise to feeling, and conditioned

To be born is love, to love is to be born, to be taken, to be, to be, to be, and to be born, to be born, and to age and die.”

His words were a little deep, but neither humble nor arrogant.

"What is the origin of name and form from dependent consciousness?"

The two of them went back and forth without any courtesy, and in the blink of an eye they had exchanged seven or eight questions.

The further they went, the more surprised the old monk Pukong became.

[This disciple of the Killing Buddha is obviously young, but his knowledge of Buddhism is so profound.]

[Could this Buddhist disciple really be the reincarnation body of some great Buddha?]

As his thoughts were rolling, it was his turn to ask another question. Monk Pukong pondered and then thought about raising the difficulty: "What is a pure mind?"

This question sounds easy, but it is not easy to find the basis for it in the vast Buddhist scriptures.

After asking this question, Monk Pukong raised his head and looked into Li Chen's eyes, thinking in his mind: How should this young monk deal with it.

After all, I have the advantage of age and have read more Buddhist scriptures than Li Chen has ever eaten salt.

Just when he was confident, Li Chen suddenly replied: "It can be done for worldly matters, but not for worldly purposes."

"A mind without disturbance is a pure mind."

When the old monk heard this, his expression changed and he lost his pure heart.

"It can be achieved by worldly things, but it cannot be achieved by worldly intentions." This statement comes from the annotations in Ananda's Sutra on Buddha's Misfortune and Good Luck.

[This scripture is not a mainstream classic. According to his age, he shouldn’t have read it! 】

Li Chen laughed secretly in his heart and said to 'Zhi Sou', 'That's good, that's good'.

Now it was Li Chen's turn to ask questions again, and he did not intend to delay any more this time, even though a difficult question came up: "What is the appearance of cultivating concentration in the void?"

This question comes from an unnamed scripture that Lichen saw in the Buddhist Scripture Pavilion of Vajra Temple.

As one of the three hidden temples, Konggang Temple contains many unique Buddhist scriptures.

The monk Pukong in front of me has learned a lot and has strong memorization, but how to deal with this kind of scripture that he has never seen before?

Sure enough, as soon as this question came up, Monk Pukong suddenly frowned and stood there without saying a word.

After a long time, he raised his head and sighed: "The future life is terrible!"

"It was Lao Na who lost."

Monk Pukong shook his head slightly, but looked at Li Chen calmly.

"Please also ask the Buddha who killed the living being to clear up my doubts." After saying this, he bowed deeply to Li Chen.

Lichen also hurriedly returned the greeting and replied directly: "When a practitioner has reached the fourth jhana, he has thought deeply about the shortcomings of material phenomena, and made the intention to eliminate all material phenomena. His mind is empty, his thoughts are empty, and he will not give up. When the material is concentrated, his mind will be gone.

, allowing it to dwell on the condition of emptiness, and then suddenly corresponding with emptiness, its mind will be clear and pure, neither suffering nor joy, only seeing emptiness, without all forms, the mind will be clear and calm, without hindrance and freedom, this is the fixed phase of emptiness."

"It comes from the "Shurangama Yi Shu Commentary Sutra" in the Buddhist Sutra Pavilion of Vajra Monastery."

"Senior Xiangbi Pukong has not been able to read this sutra, so Li Chen can only win without force."

"Hahaha."

After laughing three times, Monk Pukong said: "Victory is victory, and defeat is defeat."

"Victory and defeat are all external aspects, and they are all practices."

"Master Li Chen is humble."

"I wish the Master all the best in this auspicious ceremony."

After saying that, he turned around and left. It must be said that this monk Pukong had reached the state of Zen with an unmoving mind.
