366 Where God Lives

The soldiers stationed in the Acropolis stood under the city gate, holding the warm charter in their hands and loudly announced:

"After urgent discussions and confirmation by the leader, the following regulations for the resettlement of the victims were concluded——"

"The leader said that all the people in the world are our compatriots. If our compatriots are in trouble, the Xu family army will not sit idly by and do nothing!"

"The Xu Jiajun will now open the gates of the Acropolis and establish a temporary refugee camp outside Hunu County, five miles away, to resettle all the victims and provide hot water, food, and cold clothing. All refugees are requested to cooperate with the Xu Jiajun soldiers to conduct all inspections and confirm that they belong to

All my compatriots can enter the county and go to resettlement sites."

"Now, all disaster-stricken compatriots from all over the country are invited to come and register in an orderly manner!"

"We will work day and night to complete the registration work as soon as possible. We also ask for your active cooperation and not to disrupt the order. Anyone who disrupts will be killed without mercy!"

As the soldiers who issued the order finished speaking, the closed city gate of the Acropolis was half opened. The tall and powerful Xu Jiajun, well equipped and holding weapons in hand, walked out of the city gate.

They were divided into several teams in an orderly manner, some were responsible for registration, some were responsible for security, and some were responsible for distributing supplies.

When they saw the buckets of hot porridge being pushed out on carts, all the victims couldn't help but look in shock.

People still seem to be a bit unbelievable that there is such a cheap good thing.

Before coming to Yuyang, they were actually ready to sell themselves to Xu Jiajun and become cannon fodder.

But they didn't expect that Xu Jiajun would actually prepare so many things and give them to them for free, without having to sell himself.

Someone asked in disbelief: "Is this really free?"

Yangwazi, who was in charge of distributing food, said solemnly: "Of course it's not for free. This is what Xu Jiajun lent to you. When you get through the difficulties and settle down, you will have to work to repay it!"

When the victims heard this, not only were they not disappointed or angry, but they were relieved a lot. It was either given for free or it sounded more reliable~

Yangwazi had long been out with supplies such as wool blankets and distributed them to groups with elderly people and children. The victims felt that he was a trustworthy and good person in the Xu family army, so they boldly asked:

"Master Zhao, how do we pay back the food? What's the interest rate?"

Yang Wazi hurriedly waved his hands to tell the victims not to call him Mr. Zhao Cha. It sounded uncomfortable to call him a farmer who was born into a tenant farmer.

"There is no Mr. Chai in our Xu family army. If you are traveling with us, just call for fellow Taoists."

The victims nodded in understanding, indicating that they understood.

Yangwazi then answered their previous question and explained: "The interest is two points. Afterwards, the total amount you borrow will be distributed to everyone, and everyone will repay it together."

The victims could not read a word, and their arithmetic was very limited. When they heard the new measurement of two points, some people wanted to ask what two points were.

Yangwazi looked at the children at the back of the team who were swallowing their saliva and had no strength, but their eyes were astonishingly bright, and replied impatiently:

"Two dots are two percent. You will know when you enter Yuyang County and become the Xu family!"

After that, he deliberately showed a fierce look, shocked the victims who were delaying his task, and asked the children to come up and serve porridge.

This is the hybrid rice newly harvested in Yuyang County this year. It is cooked into a thick porridge with salt sprinkled in it, which can add a little energy.

It was freezing cold, and the guards could not find vegetarian vegetables, but the stock of pickles for themselves was too small, so they could only cook pots of salt porridge to fill the stomachs of the victims.

For most of the victims present, this kind of food is better than what they usually eat during the Chinese New Year.

The child was young and ignorant. He only thought that salt porridge was delicious, even better than honey.

The soldiers asked them jokingly if they knew what honey was. They grinned their toothless mouths, smiled shyly, shook their heads and said they didn't know.

Sensible adults can't help but think too much.

Xu Jiajun took out such good food to feed them, who were originally unrelated to the victims of the disaster. Although it was said to be borrowed, the interest on such good food must be high.

Thinking of this, the victims didn't know whether to be happy or cry.

But...this salt porridge is really delicious!

Forget it, survival is the most important first. Even if Xu Jiajun asks them to pay back huge interest, they will accept it!

After finishing the hot porridge, it was time to register.

Xu Jiajun's inspection was very strict, and they were also very well-dressed, with only one pair of eyes exposed.

Not only did they check their hands, feet, eyes and teeth, but they also asked all eighteen generations of their ancestors, very rigorously, to ensure that not even a fake disaster victim could escape.

After finally passing the inspection, children and the elderly who have no clothes can receive a blanket.

This blanket is very large. In order to keep the family warm, the victims will divide the blanket into several pieces. The whole family will huddle together, wrapped in blankets, and follow the Xu Jiajun's oxcart and carriage to Hunu County.

Not everyone can ride in the carriage, and young and middle-aged people with good physical strength have to walk. The carriage only takes women, children, the elderly, or disaster victims with limited mobility.

Each carriage has a sun-like totem on it, and most of the drivers are women.

The victims' eyes widened, and they were so shocked by these heroic and heroic girls who were skillful in driving cattle and horses that they could not recover for a long time.

"Dad, Mom, Xu Jiajun's car is so big!"

The young boy has never been in a car in his life, but now he is sitting on a bullock cart, his curious eyes are wandering around, and he can't see anything at all.

The girl driving the carriage turned around and looked over, seeing the child's thin appearance and gentle eyes, "This is much smaller than a chariot."

The child immediately climbed over, held it on the railing, and asked: "Chariot? What is a chariot?"

"Here!" The driver girl raised her hand and pointed to the left front. That was the military camp near the Acropolis. Because it was a pass, there were many tanks equipped.

At this moment, these tanks are lined up on the yellow soil outside the military camp and are conducting exercises.

For the locals in Hunu County, even if they often see scenes like this, they still feel a sense of pride every time they see it.

How lucky and secure they are to have such an army!

The driver girl looked at the dumbfounded children in the car and couldn't help but raise the corners of her mouth.

However, as the bullock cart drove away from the military camp boundary, people recovered from the shock.

The boy in the car curiously asked the driver, "Auntie, where are we going?"

The girl replied: "The temporary refugee camp is still being set up and it will take two days to be ready. Now I will take you to the church first and then send you there after the tent is set up."

"What is a church?" the boy asked doubtfully.

"The church..." The girl raised her eyes and looked in the direction of Hunu County, her expression became extremely pious, "That's where our great goddess of light lives!"
