Chapter 1037 Rare and Rare

These rare treasures of Mr. Ma have been acquired by accident over the past few decades, or through personal relationships with friends.

To him, these treasures are not cold cultural relics, but close friends with very memorable significance.

Therefore, it is impossible for him to sell these treasures.

After understanding the situation, Chen Wenzhe could only hope that one day he could see these four valuable treasures in his collection in a museum.

The four treasures involve Ru kiln, Jun kiln and Guan kiln in the Northern Song Dynasty. The last one is also a work imitating Ru kiln in Ming Chenghua.

If he could take a look at it, Chen Wenzhe would be able to learn the three famous kilns of the Northern Song Dynasty in one go, as well as the technology of imitating Ru kiln in Chenghua of the Ming Dynasty.

It's a pity that most people will never see a treasure like this.

Of course, Chen Wenzhe is not an ordinary person. After all, he now has a profound background.

Chen Wenzhe looked at the three-legged washing machine in front of him. With it, can he attract Mr. Ma?

When the time comes, I will communicate with Mr. Ma and let him visit his collection. Then it will be logical for Chen Wenzhe to take a look at Mr. Ma’s collection, right?

If you want to communicate with these big collectors, you must have enough collections.

There is really no shortage of Chen Wenzhe in the collection, but he needs to find his own way.

The original things were all treasures from the Han Dynasty, and those big bosses might not necessarily be rare!

This can be regarded as an important reason why Chen Wenzhe is determined to acquire the azure-glazed three-legged washer from the Ru Kiln of the Northern Song Dynasty.

It's just that he wants this piece of work, but he doesn't want to pay a high price.

Even if it is an exchange, how many of his works must he have to exchange for something worth two to three hundred million?

Besides, if he agrees to the valuation of 200 million, can he really exchange it for 200 million for this thing?

As I said just now, the Ru kiln wash in Mr. Ma’s hands can easily be sold for 600 million!

Chen Wenzhe didn't believe Wu San, their greed was definitely beyond his imagination.

Therefore, we must bite the price at this time and not let them have extravagant hopes.

Chen Wenzhe is willing to offer 200 million, or even 250 million or 300 million, but it cannot be more, because if it is more, it will cost 600 million.

Therefore, he must not let go at this time.

In fact, if he wants to lower the price, he can still find some faults.

Even if every piece of Ru kiln porcelain is extremely valuable, it is not easy to identify Ru kiln porcelain that has no special identity, no reliable historical records, and cannot be passed down in an orderly manner.

This is an opportunity to lower prices, and there is another one, which is to compare the inherited Ru kiln porcelain and let them automatically rank high and low.

"This porcelain is difficult to estimate. Why don't we calculate it based on the average auction price over the years?"

The two sides were silent for a while, and finally Chen Wenzhe proposed again.

When he said this, the faces of the three people opposite him all became very strange.

Finally Wu San said: "How can this be average?"

Chen Wenzhe stopped talking. He didn't know how to be even, because this kind of suggestion was a bit bullying!

In fact, the matter is very simple, because few pieces of Ru kiln porcelain have entered the market in the past ten years.

Ruguan kiln is very rare in the auction market, and it was relatively active in the previous decades.

Even so, in more than 70 years, only 6 pieces of Ruguan porcelain were sold at auction.

Among them, 4 were sold by Sotheby's and 2 by Christie's.

In the world of Song porcelain, Ru kiln is the leader, this is not just talk.

Ru kiln porcelain, as the first of the five famous porcelains of the Song Dynasty in my country, "Ru, Jun, Guan, Ge, Ding", has never left people's sight.

Mr. Li Kuchan once wrote: "Without you, no museum in the world can be said to be perfect."

It also fully confirms the Ru kiln’s leading position in the glorious history of porcelain making.

So, how has it performed in the auction market in the past century? The answer is no more than ten times.

For porcelain collectors who want to own popular collections that ordinary people can only look up to in their lifetime, such as Yuan blue and white, Ming Cheng Hua doucai, and Qing three dynasties enamel, as long as they have strong financial resources and wait patiently, they still have the opportunity to purchase and collect them.

But Ru kiln porcelain is an unattainable pinnacle.

It is a collector's dream and the ultimate lifetime collection.

There is no other reason, one is because of its extraordinary beauty, and the other is because of its rarity!

And the collections that can participate in auction transactions are even rarer.

Previously bought and sold Ru kiln porcelain, such as the Northern Song Dynasty Ru kiln long-necked vase, was sold by Sotheby's in England on May 28, 1940, and is now in the David Wade Foundation collection of the British Museum.

The Ru kiln narcissus basin of the Northern Song Dynasty was originally collected by the Nihong Anzhai family and has been auctioned twice by Sotheby's in London.

The first time was on March 17, 1959, and the second time was on February 24, 1970. This piece of porcelain has a metal rim buckle and is now in the collection of the Neon Osaka Municipal Museum of Oriental Ceramics.

The Northern Song Dynasty Ru kiln round brush washer was the earliest brush washer to be auctioned. It was sold by Sotheby's in England on April 15, 1980. It was originally collected by the Luo Guixiang Foundation of the Hong Kong collector and is now in the Hong Kong Art Museum.

There is also a Northern Song Dynasty Ru kiln round washer, which was sold at Sotheby's in England on June 15, 1982. It was originally stored in Wanwan Hongxi Art Museum and later collected by Cao Xingcheng.

There are also two Ru kiln plates from the Northern Song Dynasty, both of which were collected by Stephen Junicuk III.

The first piece was sold at Christie's in New York on March 3, and is now collected by Bai Ling, a collector in Xiangjiang.

The second piece was sold at Christie's in New York on March 29, 2006, with a diameter of 7.2 cm. It seemed to have been burned, and the rim was damaged.

Ten years later, Ru kiln porcelain rarely appeared on the market, and Chen Wenzhe only knew of three pieces.

Two of them are brush washes, and one is the azure-glazed sunflower wash from Ru Kiln in the Northern Song Dynasty that I mentioned before.

This thing was originally collected by Mrs. Alfred Clark. It was auctioned by Softbi in Hong Kong in 2012. After 34 bids, it was sold for a sky-high price of HK$207.86 million.

It was more than three times higher than the pre-auction estimated reserve price, setting a new world auction record for Song porcelain at the time.

The last piece of Ru kiln porcelain is also a Northern Song Dynasty Ru kiln round wash, originally collected by Cao Xingcheng.

On September 3, it was auctioned by Fubi in Hong Kong and Jiangsu, and it was hammered down at a price of HK$260 million.

Including commissions, the total amount was HK$294 million, once again setting a world record for Chinese porcelain auctions.

In fact, these prices are not expensive. Chen Wenzhe is willing to exchange for the three-legged pen wash in front of him at the highest price recorded, not to mention the average price.

It's just that he's afraid that Wu San won't want to!

"Boss Chen, don't be silent. You said the real price is what it is, and we are willing to exchange it!" At this time, Lao Li spoke.

Chen Wenzhe kept complaining in his heart. He really didn't dare to speak because he couldn't hold back once he opened his mouth.

"Please give me a price. After all, this piece of porcelain has no inscription, and it doesn't even have any writing left on it. If there is an inscription, the price will definitely be higher than the Ru kiln porcelain auctioned in history. Even if the price is higher, I will accept it."

You won’t bid, but you can find reasons and find faults.
